“Stats Are Just Numbers”
September 30th, 2016Yesterday, Joe brought word of how wide receiver Mike Evans looks on pace for a Pro Bowl through three games.
The guy is blowing up and set a franchise record as the only Bucs receiver to have a touchdown catch in the first three games of a season.
Yesterday, Joe chatted briefly with Evans. Let’s just say the third-year receiver is, well, unimpressed.
“I’m not blowing up, I don’t think,” Evans said. “I think I can do better. Stats are just numbers. I hope I continue to improve and help this team get wins.”
If Evans believes he can improve, wow, this could be something.
It sure seems like all the offseason work Evans put in with America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston — and Bucs offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Todd Monken making it his focal point to get Evans right — sure has paid off big time.

Here’s a thought, how about we pull a Jake Plummer type deal with the Browns and trade for the rights to Josh Gordon when he gets out of rehab and is reinstated by the league. Maybe next year. That’ll give him time to get his life right, it’ll give us time to get to the other side of Jackson’s tenure here, and we won’t have to gamble in the draft to find a guy that might possibly do well at the next level. We know this guy can do it in a big way at this level, we just have to make sure that he has positive influences around him. Hopefully by the time he gets here we’d have the bad culture flushed out of the locker room.

Mike expects 200 yards per game and 3 tds. Juice by him.

the amazing thing is that he was right this year and last year. people will look at his state line and say “wow”, but if you watched the game you’ll know that Mike probably also got mugged for some 30 yard PI penalty for hidden yardage that won’t show up on the stat sheet, and he and jameis have left at least one big play on the table. the potential is really alarming and exciting as a bucs fan. they won’t be perfect every sunday, but a day will come when they are perfect with some regularity and Mike will be putting up AJ Green and Antonio Brown type of stat lines. Hopefully we get the playoff appearances to match

Some one needs to tell Jameis he can start trusting him more with jump balls in the red zone. That catch he had last week on that ugly heave Jameis threw, Mike was a foot higher than the defenders and his arms werent even extended all the way and could’ve gotten another foot higher. Probably an exaggeration. I never got out a tape measure but you get my point. I don’t care what he says, dude is balling this year!!

Does anyone know where I can see the last 2 mins of Sunday’s game?

If I was him I would not resign with the Bucs and when I left I would say I did it because some blogger exaggerated my drops one year and referred to me as KY hands.

Mike Evans should have like 375 yards receiving and 5 tds right now. In the 1st game Fameis completely missed him C O M P L E T E L Y W I D E O P E N (can’t be more open than he was!) and against the Cards if he had went up for the ball instead of letting it fall into the dbs hands. He has a habit of doing that like against the Falcons but that one wasn’t picked off.
DB55 if you’re talking about this Sunday get the KODI player and get the prosport/sports devil add on. If past Sunday can’t help you.

The score on the board at the end of games are also “just numbers”.
