Realist … Agree with the needs, but we might be better off putting the Safety 2nd & the TE 3rd (more depth at TE than at safety). Also need another LB, DT & DE, assuming we sign our own FAs (Gholston & Spence especially). Looks like we’re farther away from having the depth to be a SB contender than most thought.

He effed up and I won’t defend it. But I choose not to pile on either.
He was smart to smile in that pic. Do you all remember the Nick Nolte pic?
He tried to present himself as a decent human being and yet we have a problem with that.
If he had scowled what would we have said.
This nation simply does not do nuance anymore and it’s absolutely ruined our politics! That’s critical and sad but the same thing has infected all of our lives.
Contrary to “The Donald’s” hyperbole…in REAL LIFE…things are rarely the greatest..the worst…the most…there are almost always shades of gray.
Again my biggest problem with ASJ’s DUI is his total lack of respect for his teammates. If it had happend in the off season I would be more understanding.
We have all…at least the vast majority..driven when “legally” we shouldn’t have.
ASJ just got caught.
And so is there any middle ground? Here is my idea chime in with yours.
It’s too serious of a TEAM infraction to simply look the other way. Coach K calls the team together and points that out. It’s disrespectful of the team.
But perhaps ASJ has a problem. So we suspend him until after the bye. We investigate as to whether this is a symptom of a diseases. For those who are unaware the folks who are educated specialists have defined alcoholism as a disease. Don’t know if ASJ has it but we need to find out for HIS sake as well as ours.
At the end of the day you have to ask yourself am I a human being? Do I have any compassion for my fellow man? ASJ may have a true medical problem.
A 4 week suspension…a visit to the head doctors specializing in alcohol abuse…seems to me to be the proper response. Some of you may think that’s not enough…I respect your opinion.
I’ll tell whose opinion I do not respect and who should just S T F U.
Roger freaking Goodell. Let our team and management deal with this!!!

Well, now we know the problem…alcohol. This could explain why Koetter ran ASJ from practice and why Jameis called him out in Jax. He could also been under the influence of Captain Morgan when he struck the pose.
It’s pretty hard to be focused when you are under the influence.
Bucs should give him a breathalyzer before every practice and game and let him
know that if he blows anything, he sits.
He should ride the pine at the first home game and come in only if injury to another TE.
I have no patience or sympathy for anyone who doesn’t learn from their mistakes. I love my Bucs but if it takes getting rid of a good player with potential to send the right message to players and fans……do it!!!

Maybe VJax will have some words of enlightenment.
Seems pretty obvious the alcohol is the reason behind his issues.
A 4 week suspension and Mandatory evaluation / rehab might help, but only if he actually wants to get better. If he doesn’t want to change, then it will all be meaningless.

I just wonder how many JBF posters have gone to a game or anywhere else and have consumed enough alcohol to qualify for a DUI!?!? Just look at the people leaving the games!!
I myself can say never..never have touched a single alcoholic beverage and so I can’t understand the love of alcohol..
There’s ASJ issue…it’s alcohol…and I have noticed that there’s some anger in his system and I just wonder if it’s against his father..He never mentions him, he never credits him..it’s just his mother and sister.

ASJ would rather play for a large media market team. If he has a good game against the Rams, a big if, he can lessen the fan disgust of his antics. His biggest obstacle is getting out of his own way.

How about he take some personal responsibility… Everyone that makes a mistake does not get to blame it on Daddy or Mommy or whatever person or excuse or disease that is convenient at the time or allows for someone to duck responsibility for their OWN bad choice. a little more personal responsibility will go along way versus people making excuses and justifying poor choices and bad behavior. Own it ASJ it was not anyone’s choice to drive than his own. he has proven once and for all he is a complete and utter dumb arse with sh*t between the ears. I get you like the dude but it does not do any good to make excuses or try and justify his poor choices. God body or not he can’t play football and he is a dumb arse…

Tmax-totally agree. Personal responsibility is sorely lacking these days. I was raised to own up to my mistakes and bad choices. These days people all over have a litany of excuses and other ways to deflect blame from themselves. You gotta make your own way in this world, no one owes you anything.

What a f-ing waste. He is an alcoholic. Explains a lot of the problems. Football practice was obviously unimportant to him along with taking care of his body. Good to cut ties now–keeping him is just enabling.
