Report: Martin Out Three Weeks
September 21st, 2016There is news on the status of Doug Martin and his hamstring.
Everyone’s favorite Muscle Hamstring blew a hamstring in the ugly loss to Arizona Sunday. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Martin will be sidelined a while.
@RapSheet: Following the results of his MRI, #Bucs RB Doug Martin is expected to be out about three weeks with a hamstring injury, source said.
So there you have it. Once again, Martin will battle an unjury-plagued season, his third in five years.

That’s sucks but at least it’s just three weeks
September 21st, 2016 at 7:59 am
not good! hamstring injuries can linger all season… probably won’t be a good season for him
September 21st, 2016 at 8:03 am
Rest up Doug! We need you 100%!
Go Bucs!

bye bye run game 🙁 ….dancing poodle Sims up the gut? not likely
September 21st, 2016 at 8:08 am
I remember what Emmit Smith said about his replacement, It’s easy to get yards when the defense is not keying on stopping you. It’s the same with Simms a lot of his yards came out of passing formations with the defense were keying on stopping the pass. This guy is a great change of pace back.

Possibly because we took it easy on him in preseason when he said he wanted to get reps??
September 21st, 2016 at 8:19 am
shame you can’t sign him to a series of one year prove-it deals
September 21st, 2016 at 8:39 am
“shame you can’t sign him to a series of one year prove-it deals”
Why not? That’s essentially what we did when we signed Darrelle Revis. Also made it easy to cut him.
September 21st, 2016 at 8:40 am
Sims might just surprise a few of you. He’s a different kind of back and our offense is, in my opinion, more suited for up-tempo with him in the game.
September 21st, 2016 at 8:45 am
@tnew.. they could of with the franchise tag
September 21st, 2016 at 8:47 am
Sims didn’t do squat in the Az game
September 21st, 2016 at 8:47 am
It figures. Injuries happen, but I find it suspicious that they always seem to happen AFTER Martin gets paid.
Just like I predicted last year. He did not deserve that contract. He was a 50-50 RB and still is.
September 21st, 2016 at 8:52 am
Dont sleep on rodgers
Our run blocking is not as good without mankins
Our holes are smaller and we need a back to hit the hole fast
Rodgers will be our savior this year. Martin will not be productive and lose his job when he comes back
This happens all the time on sports over and over again
Gameball to rodgers
September 21st, 2016 at 8:54 am
Well, I hate being negative, but now many of you will see why Simms is a compliment best used for receiving and not an every down back. Look for The new signing, J Rogers, to get a lot of touches too

Was this a contest with yourself to see how many typos you could squeeze into a short article.

Doug’s ability to skate between tackles will be missed, but an encouraging thing I did see Sunday is that backs not named Martin had some success when designed outside runs were called. Koetter has a tendency to lean heavily on inside and off-tackle runs in order to set up play action. I’m interested to see he breaks that and calls more run plays to get Simms and Rogers on the outside.
September 21st, 2016 at 9:23 am
Great…get ready for another game of 5 man blitzes. That will shut the run game down and rattle Winston like last Sunday.
September 21st, 2016 at 9:32 am
We should still beat the Rams. #3 still has a good o-line in front of him. If you started all the backup on the o-line. Then #3 would have the exact team Glennon had in 2014
September 21st, 2016 at 9:35 am
Kobe and dave – I’m with you.
SB – lmao.
September 21st, 2016 at 9:39 am
Well, we’re f#cked. Run game is down the toilet, and the pass game won’t be much with defences not loading the box. Realistically we are 6 -10 with no run game. Maybe worse. That’s ok tho, we need the top 10 pick for a WR or cb or de

Nothing here to talk about! Next man up! Gh

The might be taking a little extra precaution with the Bye-week so close!!! Rather take an extra game and try to squeeze one more year out of him next year anyhow!!!!!
And its not like this is a major playoff run this year!!! It is about finding out who can be coached up on this team and who cannot and will be replaced!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!
September 21st, 2016 at 10:10 am
Perhaps we could see Peyton Barber this week. Mike James maybe?
September 21st, 2016 at 10:22 am
Nobody is gonna cry for you Bucs. Its..next man up. No excuses. This is the NFL where injuries happen daily. Rams are comin to town. They got injuries too! And..this is a must win home opener for Tampa. Rams are beatable. Batter up baby! Heal up Doug. We will need you down the stretch. I/we/they don’t want to hear the injury excuses from anybody. Plug in#2 at RB and lets go. Look for a dogfight on both offensive and defensive lines. Rams D is tough. We..gotta be tougher.

The aftermath of the “Debacle in the Desert” continues. I’m sure Cecil “Jean” Shorts will be out for a while as well with the same ailment. It was a tough call re-signing Martin…yet still looks like a coup vs. The Sweezey Swindel. The Bucs were beat up for an entire month last weekend in Glendale….
September 21st, 2016 at 11:13 am
3 weeks means 5.
Martin continues his streak of on year/off year.
I’m going to make a couple of predictions:
Martin will be back in 5 weeks.
He will play 3 more games and get injured.
Then he will be done for the season.
I’m predicting the Bucs will have him for 6-7 total games.
September 21st, 2016 at 11:32 am
Well Buctrooper..At least he plays some. He could be..backing up to the pay window cashing them big checks like..Easy (money) Sweezy!
September 21st, 2016 at 11:37 am
BucTrooper
you will get labeled a hater by the clueless fanboys that can not look at objective facts that being said I agree with your prediction 100% it is the most likely scenario.
Once GMC is done with the camera crew he will go on IR as well.
September 21st, 2016 at 11:49 am
Hopefully we can get him back in 2 instead of 3. Having Martin back for the Carolina game would be huge!
September 21st, 2016 at 12:08 pm
We have the worse fans period.
September 21st, 2016 at 12:30 pm
You can’t predict the recovery time for a hamstring injury, this is all SPECULATION!
September 21st, 2016 at 12:34 pm
I seriously doubt if Doug Martin gain 700 yards this season, how can you run with a bad hammy? He will not get back to 100% this season, I wouldn’t rule out him on IR before game 8.
September 21st, 2016 at 2:11 pm
Every team deals with injuries, I predict the next man will show up but not be able to pound the rock like the HAMSTER!! But we will continue to coach the LOVIE out of them.
September 21st, 2016 at 2:22 pm
Dear TMAXCON…
I appreciate your concern, but the truth of the matter is, I’m very used to not being taken seriously when I have mountains and mountains of facts and impossible-to-disprove data. I am, after all, pro-Second Amendment.
Yours,
The Buc Trooper.
September 21st, 2016 at 7:18 pm
Lamar Miller would’ve looked great in a Bucs uni…oh well. If it says 3weeks Hamster Boy will be out 5 cuz of his work ethic. He got his money. He is good til next season.
September 21st, 2016 at 7:21 pm
Simms can ball. Between him and Rodgers we will be fine. We just have to keep running the ball and not become a crazy pass happy offense. Or we will be screwed.
September 21st, 2016 at 8:00 pm
Doug is going to get not three but five weeks of rest. He’ll sit against LA, Denver, and Carolina on the road and then get the week off with the entire team during the bye. Technically he’ll get four weeks if you count a week of hard practice after the bye but no matter…he’s going to have time to recover.
No sweat…this team needs to make hay in the 11 games after the bye when the schedule is not brutal…and in fact quite manageable up until the final home game show down against the Stinkin’ Panthers.
September 21st, 2016 at 11:14 pm
Not many running backs make it through their career without injuries at some point. Doug was certainly worth his contract. Stop acting like he wasnt. Or maybe Joe is right and the vikings should have cut Adrian Peterson years ago since he always seems to get injured.
Get real. Injuries happen to every player. Sure some happen more frequent for some, but that’s just life. Hating on players because they are injured is a bltch move.
