The Bucs simply got taken to the woodshed yesterday. It was reminiscent of 2010.
The last time the Bucs had a winning season, the undefeated 2-0 Bucs hosted the juggernaut known as the Pittsburgh Steelers and got curb-stomped 38-13.
It was that kind of day yesterday, perhaps worse, when the Cardinals took a beltstrap to the Bucs and pummeled them 40-7.
The disgusting display moved John Breech of CBS Sports to take the Bucs to task and slap them with an F-grade.
If you lost track of all the interceptions that Jameis Winston threw in Arizona, we can’t really blame you. The second-year quarterbacks threw four picks, which actually should be kind of concerning for the Bucs because interceptions are becoming somewhat normal for Winston. Not only has the quarterback thrown multiple interceptions in five of his 17 career games, but he’s thrown the most picks in the NFL since the beginning of the 2015 season.
This scares the hell out of Joe. To be fair, two of the picks were not on Jameis. The first one, Patrick Peterson did a helluva job squeezing Mike Evans off his route. It was not a badly thrown ball.
His last pick, the final play of the game, was just a desperation heave that, frankly, should never have been thrown because Jameis should not have been in the game.
The Bucs earned this F-grade. Every single bit of it.

They looked like the ( 0-14) 1976 Bucs in a different uniform. They stunk like a 1800’s OUTHOUSE, and I’m being nice.

you are sure enjoying this. It was one loss idiot against a super bowl contending team. It’s not like the lovie days of getting blown out by backups and 3-13 teams. I get you don’t like licht but every day you get closer and closer to BigHog in terms of agendas and credibility. Find another team if you are so disgruntled. There are plenty of things to be pissed about but no one in the right mind thought this was a playoff team this year unless the stars aligned perfectly. Jameis will be fine and although I don’t agree with everything Licht has done he still will go down as best GM in bucs history which is not saying much when the recent cast of characters include losers like McKay, Allen and Dominick….

Just look at that photo… Winston’s mechanics yesterday were downright dreadful. The Tennessee game all over again. Bad feet. Long windups, high release point. Just sloppy, sloppy QB play yesterday. I love Jameis and I put all my money on him being our first franchise QB. It’s time for the coaches to starting breaking down his every move before he’s beyond repair.

New coaches, same story. I could’ve swore Lovie hit Mike Smith over the head with a lamp in the press box and started calling the defensive plays. Man this defense is terrible. Don’t even get me started on Winston. When he’s on he’s a decent quarterback, but when he’s off, yowza is he bad. He’ll never be elite, he’s a tad above average folks and that’s being nice.

The good-
the offshore books has the betting line at -4 and -4.5 vs the rams (I thought it will be -3)
the linemakers also agree that the Bucs will bounce back.
there is probably alot of money coming in from the west coast betting the rams thinking its free money…and the books are gladly taking it…which is good

The players will play mad on Sunday and shouldn’t allow something like this to happen against the Rams. We’ll play better against Los Angeles.

1 more thing: Jameis hates losing, and he’s the leader. He’s our Franchise QB. He played much better after the 37-23 pounding we took from the Panthers last year. We’ll be fine folks!

Joe, you have me totally befuddled. In your earlier piece ‘Once Upon a Schiano’ this morning, I was convinced you were totally behind Koetter leaving Jameis in the game at the end (i.e., “But Joe gets exactly why Koetter let Jameis stay out there in fighting mode.”). You even ended with “Joe welcomes Koetter’s approach wholeheartedly.” I agreed 100% … no white flags.
Now in this article I see this: “His last pick, the final play of the game, was just a desperation heave that, frankly, should never have been thrown because Jameis should not have been in the game.”
I’m assuming it’s a different Joe because it can’t be both ways. His last INT however was admittedly totally unnecessary … desperation heaves are silly when you’re losing 40-7 moments before the game ends.

Why go back to 2010? You only have to back one season. Then before that, just one season. This has become a tradition. I’d bet it’ll happen again this year. Doesn’t matter the coach. Doesn’t matter the QB. This team is a sh1tshow. They got too high off of one win? Just like last year they got too low after one flag. God help us if they sting together two wins in a row. We’ll go down the the tubes for six games straight!!

Look, our Bucs ran into a..Buzzsaw. We (Buc fans) got a chance to see how a top 5 NFL team balls out. We are trying to get to where AZ is. People criticize Ariams for having an old QB. But Arians is not worried about that because he’s got a brick wall on that O line of his as we witnessed yesterday. We will get better. And the tale of the tape will be to see how we bounce back on Sunday against the stout Defensive unit of the Rams. I have a feeling we will be ready.

Yesterday’s game goes to show you how far the Bucs have to go before becoming a playoff caliber team. Our lack of talent, depth and experience in big games was on full display.
They got destroyed by a very good team accross the board.
What the Bucs can’t afford to do is dwell on this loss and have that damned loser mentality start spreading again. We the fans can’t either!!!!
Looking squarely at guys like McCoy and David who haven’t won since college. They have to move on and keep pushing. Jameis and other young guys and new players should be ok.
There’s going to be more losses this year but they’ve got to continue to build and push through the adversity.

Look what happened that December game where Sapp, Lynch and company got raddled by the Raiders in that 0-45 loss..we were 9-5 at the time..could have clinched a playoff winning that game…we still made the playoffs and our guys after that game were not going to let that happen again..

The older I get the more I’ve learned to not get too excited about one game. The Bucs are young and the Cards are lightyears ahead of us. I am banking on Jameis being the kind of player that cant sleep because of a loss like this. That it will drive him more and push them all to be better. As for grading these games and performances, who cares. Next week is coming, and the Rams will smoke this team if they are worried about last weeks performance.

I felt very good in the first quarter of this game. We did not simply get pushed around like in the past.
I focused on several plays just looking at the line play to see who was dominating the line of scrimmage. Both our OL and DL’s were doing fine.
Then came the barrage of turnovers and the game simply got out of hand.

LOL, you trolls are so transparent. We started off with 2 games on the road and came back 1-1. Anyone here would have taken that. If we were going to lose and drop a deuce in a game, I am glad we lost this way. This will be a wake up call for both the players and the coaches. they had their heads in the clouds after ATL. A close loss may have been more detrimental, now they know they have a lot of work to do. Time to get back to work. I can’t understand how our players keep getting injured the way they are might be time to look at our strength and conditioning coaches, just sayin’

I agree with u u gotta get knocked down a couple times before u get up and look at last years wildcard playoff teams the Vikings got blown out by the Seahawks and the Texans got destroyed by the Falcons last year look how this teams turned out they both made the playoffs heck the Vikings where a field goal away from making it to the division round look guys I’m not upset we lost I’m upset with how we lost I know we are a better team than that but I know they going to bounce back they got no choice they are going to beat the Rams cause honestly they are the better team I hope that team that played in Arizona stays in Arizona that was a whole different team and I think that team still in Arizona and the Bucs team we saw in Atlanta comes out

Where to start? I saw big free agent signing Brent Grimes get outplayed numerous times, I saw balls that should have been caught that weren’t, missed interception, our own player running into his QB causing a fumble, the big 2nd round draft pick kicker that everyone has been talking about MISS a chance at a field goal, Vincent Jackson looks 100 years old, lack of depth, injuries which do happen but none the less effect the outcome of a game.
One major thing that hit me was it seemed like the team just was not prepared. THIS you can’t blame on the players entirely. This responsibility is the coaching staff. I’ve had my reservations about Koetter from the get go. I saw what he did at ASU and his track record since BUT I will “Give it time.”
But most importantly what I saw that had me the most unhappy was when the camera would go to our sidelines and showed the looks on the players faces. None of them seemed concerned or had a sense of urgency look on their faces. They seemed down, complacent, uninterested. I didn’t see one person trying to rally the troops or trying to motivate the players to play harder. The only person I saw that at least seemed to was Winston.
But tick tock the clock is running. How long do you think Winston is going to remain a positive, uplifting leader when others around him are emotionless complacent turds?
It is not easy being a Buc fan with all the changes, new coaches, losing mentality and negative Nancy aura that this team has. “Give it time, give them time, if you don’t want to be a Buc fan then don’t be” mentality has gone on for too long. How long DOES it take to turn things around? Seems every damn year is another “Give it time” excuse. I do realize it is early in the year and this is just one game but even Ray Charles can see where this team is headed.

This doesn’t scare the hell out of Wes. As Beckles said yesterday, Jameis is still a Rookie until the first 3 or 4 games of his second year. He’s still learning and is going to have these games. And it’s not like he’s throwing 2-3 ints per game.
Don’t forget he went on a multiple game streak last year where he threw 0 picks. The only reason why he’s thrown the ‘most picks’ since 2015 is because he’s had 2 atrocious games of 4 picks each. And that’s fine. There is no success without failure.
He will learn from this, as he’s already shown he can do, and improve.

This team really needs to close this offense in a bunch. There are too many spread type of plays when we really should take advantage of the strength of our tight end and recievers and be physical. Play Vjax more as a third tight end at this stage of his career and let Stocker play the fullback that gives us maximum blocking for the run and pass.
