Jameis Loves Veterans
September 8th, 2016America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, sure sounded a lot like Chucky yesterday.
It really struck Joe that a 22-year-old franchise quarterback was so focused on the experience level of his teammates.
Of course, Bucs fans will remember how Chucky loved veteran players of all kinds and wasn’t the biggest fan of rookies, especially in his beloved offense.
Jameis was asked about newcomer receiver Cecil Shorts and what he can contribute. Despite Shorts not practicing with the Bucs yet, Jameis was all in because of Shorts’ resumé.
“A lot,” Jameis said of what Shorts can bring. “He’s a dynamic guy, he’s a vet and I think just having more vets on this offensive side of the ball where we are very young is good.
Joe asked Jameis about Vincent Jackson returning, and Jameis’ first answer was telling.
“It changes everything just because [we have] another veteran on that football field,” Jameis said of V-Jax.
Man, Jameis loves his vets. Jameis loves all his teammates, but it’s interesting to see how his maturation has him much more appreciative of what established professionals bring to the table.
It might be hard to wipe the smile of Jameis’ face when Louis Murphy returns at midseason.

All the whining we did this offseason about wr depth, it sure seems that things are coming together nicely now.

MarineBucsFan…we still have a few whiners left though.

I reserve my right to whine whenever I feel the need, even if it doesn’t make any difference!

Vets are great when they want to win. Jameis makes the entire team want to win! I feel like this team is one solid draft away from being very scary….but who knows we may already be there!
I can’t wait for Sunday…It will be nice to know either way if the days of depression are over or not. Win lose or draw, I just want to see a game that isn’t finished in complete embarrassment. I do believe those days are gone now with Koetter and Winston working together but Sunday will show us where they are really at!

He wants guys who know how to run their routes and make it to their spots. When you throw with anticipation as much as Jameis does, you need to be confident your guys are where you expect them to be on schedule.

This is just Jameis
If we brought in a rookie he’d say that he loves the energy of a young guy. If we brought in a tall guy he’d say he loves his size and if it was a short guy he’d say he loves his quickness. This is what leaders do
