“It Lacks Talent. It Lacks Depth. It Lacks Speed.”
September 5th, 2016Former Saints and Patriots fullback Heath Evans has been bellowing on NFL Network about his NFC South picks.
It’s all here in this video.
The Bucs open the regular season in Atlanta on Sunday, and Evans is confident the Falcons’ are absolute trash on defense.
“The defense is lackluster. It lacks talent. It lacks depth. It lacks speed. It’s lacks a lot,” Evans said. “I think, ultimately, that will put them in fourth-place in the division.”
Evans ranks the Bucs’ behind as the No. 3 team in the division behind the Saints, whose defense he believes will be improved just enough with longtime Rams middle linebacker James Laurinaitis on board.
Former Patriots stud DE Willie McGinest took issue with Evans and said the Falcons’ firepower will make them better. McGinest believes your beloved Buccaneers are the worst team in the division.

Just finish listening to Joe Hawley lockerroom interview. I like the part when he said “we about to shock some people”. These networks heads don’t see us coming. But soon they will.
September 5th, 2016 at 2:42 pm
If we are the worst team in the division then we have a very, very strong division.
September 5th, 2016 at 2:53 pm
Duck these Dbags
September 5th, 2016 at 2:55 pm
Strongest division in the league imo. Falcons won 6-7 games last year but only 1 in this division. The division makes future HOFs like Revis look like bums. Far cry from the exceptional WR talent in the AFC east. Lmao.
I’m more apt to believe what Willie says than Evans. But I think if we can pressure the qb, give up 100y or less in the run game and shut down Julio, kelvin, funchess and the saints rookie WR from Ohio ST I think we win the division.
Cam n Olsen are the only players that scare me in this division.
September 5th, 2016 at 2:55 pm
Where the talking heads rank the Bucs means nothing. Bucs came in last place in the NFC South for what, 5 seasons in a row. Not going to get any love until they win and prove themselves. This is the year. At least 9-7 and hopefully 10-6 … No excuses.
September 5th, 2016 at 3:08 pm
We have yet to give the prognosticators any reason to think we’re going to do anything other than struggle, so I don’t worry about what they’re saying at all. They have 31 other teams to follow and give us a cursory glance, at best. They’ll take notice when we start winning. The onus is on the players and coaches to get some quality wins. Not just against the scrap heap teams but we have to start beating legitimate contenders before they start paying attention to what’s happening in Tampa.
September 5th, 2016 at 3:10 pm
I don’t have anything against talking heads ranking us 3rd or 4th in the division. We were 6-10 last year…have to prove it on the field
After we make the playoffs this year, the tune will change
September 5th, 2016 at 3:18 pm
The Falcons are trash… The Saints are doomed. Drew Breese wont make it through 16 games behind that line. The Panthers are the class of the division and our Bucs are trending upward. The division as a whole is not near as strong as it was a couple years ago.
September 5th, 2016 at 3:22 pm
Bigpoppa Thursday night will show you carolina not the class. carolina paper champs.
September 5th, 2016 at 3:25 pm
McGinest is one of the networks biggest yes men. He’s yet to give Jameis his due. He’s beginning to fall over himself because he has no leg to stand on anymore. Winston has won over everyone but him. I’m pretty sure the majority of the ex players on the set knew of Jameis’ talents, but where given the marching orders to muzzle anything positive. They can’t anymore, but ole Willie needs the paycheck, so he’s hanging on for dear life. Snap out of it, Willie…your better than that.
September 5th, 2016 at 3:56 pm
Evans and mcginest. Could there be bigger homers in the world?
Evans refuses to believe the saints are on the verge of a complete overhaul, and will not take the pats weinee out of his salivating mouth.
Im pretty sure both of them only see the orld from a pats point of view. The bucs are nothing to worry about so need to do research, just go with your gut.
September 5th, 2016 at 4:06 pm
When Evans said the saints will finish with a winning record and make the playoffs i looked at his eyes he was smoking something good back stage I think nfl network need to issue a drug test cause no one with complete sound mind would pick the saints to go to the playoffs and McGinnis didn’t wanna hurt Heath in all honesty these are the same people who said the Saint would win the division last year look how that turned out
September 5th, 2016 at 4:36 pm
Can’t wait to take on division opponents this year! This squad has more talent, toughness, and quality coaching than we’ve seen in years.
September 5th, 2016 at 4:41 pm
Many people flrget that the nfc south was considered one of the tightest strongest divisions in the league back when rah and free went for 10 wins. In my opinion matt ryan is now the worst qb in the leage. Julio will never get a ring. Cone ocer to tampa and play with evans julio!!!!!
September 5th, 2016 at 4:59 pm
Also, new orleans I would not sleep on theyre defense. Rob Ryan will make the best roster look bad and they have some decent corners and jarius byrd in dbs
September 5th, 2016 at 5:22 pm
Kevin I wouldn’t go so far as to say worse in the league mainly because Mark Sanchez still in it. With that being said I do feel Ryan’s game has slightly taken a hit because he only looks for julio when he drops back. Ryan was at his best when Gonzalez was there at tight end. A man don’t make me drool by mentioning Julio and ME together ever again man.
September 5th, 2016 at 5:25 pm
DM 22 is going to run over the Falclowns.
September 5th, 2016 at 6:04 pm
Bucs had the 10th best defense in the league last year.
September 5th, 2016 at 6:35 pm
Rod Munch
if you really believe that you need serious help. bucs had one of the most embarrassing defenses of all time with their glorious 70% completion percentage and complete lack of heart and effort at times. The lovie smith era will go down as the worst era of bucs defense EVER!!!!! 9 years of head coaching experience and he sh!t the bed
September 5th, 2016 at 6:36 pm
Apparently, the Bucs had waived Dan Vitale because he was injured in some way? He failed the Bills physical because of the injury.
Anyone know what injury it was?
September 5th, 2016 at 6:36 pm
don’t make me drool by mentioning Julio and ME together ever again man.

OMG!!!
September 5th, 2016 at 6:37 pm
Willie is correct, we are the worst team in the NFC South. We have been for 5 years running, we can go on and on about how good we are, but we have to prove it on the field. Until we compete and win some games and get out of the cellar, we are the worst team in the division. And the Panthers are the best team in the division, until someone dethrone them.
September 5th, 2016 at 6:46 pm
If you want to be the man you’ve gots to beat the man.
September 5th, 2016 at 6:49 pm
Worst to First!!! That was a trend in the NFC South for years. I say we start that back up this year starting this week!!!!
September 5th, 2016 at 7:16 pm
All just talk. Hit the field..Play ball. Then we will see where the cards fall. Nobody knows what anybody has. Sunday will tell the real tale.
September 5th, 2016 at 7:17 pm
Vitale dropped by the bills because of failed psychical.
September 5th, 2016 at 7:56 pm
Being the worse the last five years means absolutely nothing. Especially when you add in we were the only team in the division without a real QB. Don’t worry tho. T- just a few more days before you cats stop living in the past when it comes to Buccs football. You all will embrace the future real quick I can assure you.
September 5th, 2016 at 8:02 pm
@NoSBoS,
I’m with you Bro. In the words of a famous JBF poster, ” Just wait on it!”
Go Bucs!
September 5th, 2016 at 8:04 pm
☺The wait is finally over Dave..
September 5th, 2016 at 8:04 pm
Heath Evans is a BUC hating prick.

“Nobody believes in us but us” – Jameis WINS’TON
September 5th, 2016 at 9:21 pm
Sorry NOSBOS I can’t watch this bull $hit. That qb can’t handle the bright lights and our defence looks like a $$
September 5th, 2016 at 9:24 pm
Noles can’t run, they can’t pass. The qb keeps throwing into the dirt, the defence with tons of busted coverages. It’s PATHETIC. Ohh look it a fumble. SMDH
September 5th, 2016 at 9:27 pm

September 5th, 2016 at 10:48 pm
We got ourselves a game now. I’ll live if we lose. Just don’t get blown out.
September 5th, 2016 at 10:59 pm
Our game. They’re defense been on field too long.
September 5th, 2016 at 11:03 pm
Our defence starting to play fast.. #clamps
September 5th, 2016 at 11:11 pm
Yep
September 5th, 2016 at 11:20 pm
This game should be a shoot out…. Atlanta is weak on D. Bucs prevail 33-21 and we go no huddle into mid second quarter. They only break the 20 point barrier cause we can’t return a kickoff. Our D line gets 4+ sacks and DM and CS each get over a hundred. Go Bucs
King Buc 17
September 5th, 2016 at 11:23 pm
Good evening King.
September 5th, 2016 at 11:23 pm
@King buc
Bold predictions. I believe that we win, but idk about Dm AND Cs having 100 each
September 5th, 2016 at 11:27 pm
Ok offece, let’s slow it down and eat some clock
September 5th, 2016 at 11:31 pm
Commentary seems Ole miss biased.
September 5th, 2016 at 11:33 pm

September 5th, 2016 at 11:34 pm

September 6th, 2016 at 12:48 am
TAMPA TO NUMBER 4???? THAT GUY IS A MORAN, HE COULDN’T EVEN PRONOUNCE HIS WORDS. TAMPA NUMBER 4????!!?!?!! HOW ABOUT TAMPA NUMBER 2, SAINTS AND FALCONS WILL BE HUGE DISAPPOINTMENTS THIS YEAR.
September 6th, 2016 at 7:04 am
Heath Evans lost credibility when he said we were ranked behind the Saints this year.
The Bucs will finish second in the division at worst, unless injuries play a role.
September 6th, 2016 at 7:05 am
@discountbucfan
Love the enthusiasm.
September 6th, 2016 at 8:30 am
tmax: one year behind you in becoming die-hard Bucs fanatic. I boarded the ship in 1979. I almost fell down in my younger(:-)) years when I found out that there was a NFL team 75 miles SW of my house. Anywho, that said, there were some major P-U!!! defenses on those Buc teams back in the Dark Ages. Lovie’s was bad, but not the worse. Can’t wait ’til Sunday. Go Tampa Bay Bucs!!
