Tier 2
August 11th, 2016If anyone can lead the Bucs out of the NFL abyss the team has been mired in for five years, it is America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.
And in the eyes of some in the NFL, Jameis is on the cusp of doing great things.
Polling dozens of NFL coaches and suits, Mike Sando of BSPN had these folks rank the quarterbacks. Oddly enough, Jameis is ranked in what Sando classifies as “Tier 2” of quarterbacks, which also includes three other quarterbacks in the NFC South.
One NFL offensive coordinator, clearly not a fan of America, gave Jameis a backhanded compliment and credited current Dirk Koetter for performing a masterpiece with the Bucs’ offense last season.
“Winston’s buffoonery just didn’t show up,” an offensive coordinator said. “They found a way to play very, very tough on offense and they found a way to hand the ball off a lot, which took tons off him. What they did down there was one of the best-kept secrets going, and it saved the kid. I thought they rallied around him and I was happy for him. He talks out of his ass, and I was just never sure if there was a real guy in there and whether he could really, truly bring people together and lead them. They helped him, and he did it.”
And folks actually wonder why Team Glazer hired Koetter? Heh!
There is also a nugget, via the link above, in which Sando talks to an NFL suit who stated Jameis proved last year he will be the next big thing in the NFL.
As Koetter said last year when asked about Jameis, “Jameis always says he’s nobody in this league. Well, he’s going to be somebody.”

If his performance on the field ever matches his behavior off the field, the Bucs will be a competitive franchise year after year. He’s done a masterful job of changing his image. Paired up with Koetter, the Bucs should be a playoff team very soon.

This clown of an offensive coordinator, SMH! He questions Winston’s leadership and has a job in the NFL? Did he not pay attention to what Jameis did at FSU? Lead them to the national championship as a freshman? off the field PERCEPTION has really put this kid in a hole. Crazy thing is, in one year he has pretty much dug himself out of the hole the MEDIA tried to bury him in!!!!!!

What kind of man makes a statement like that and not have the cojones to identity who he is??? In my book that’s not a man at all. Round my way we call that b@$!hmade.

They “saved the kid!” He has been a winner everywhere he has played. How was he able to win a national championship and a heisman at FSU. The dude was taken #1 overall because he has always been a stud and will continue to be one at this level. What a douche!

Well said BucsRays. Clearly that offensive coordinator is living under a rock or just has a complete FSU filter or some kind of bias. Winstons on field leadership has never been a big secret or hidden information. All you have to do is talk to any player or coach who every worked with him. Being that clueless, its hard to imagine that Offensive Coordinator is good at his job.

Wow, harsh statement by an unnamed offensive coordinator. I’d like to see how successful this guy is in his role.

Hilarious this clueless offensive coordinator (probably Kyle Shanahan) is willing to run his mouth but doesn’t own it by allowing his name to be released. He’ll be at home getting fat on chips and beer on his couch soon and Winston will still be in the league.

I clicked on the link and it has him as Tier 3

Probably Kyle Shanahan

Great we have a lead then shanahan. Between the beat writer talkin noise about GMC,Mike Smith being canned and now this. It appears we have more than enough bullentin board for theses guys week one in the “A”. Which again I expect us to totally pummel them.

This guy knows how to come off douchey. I wonder at what point it ever seemed like Jameis didn’t have the ability to bring people together and lead them? That has always been one of his unquestioned strengths. Glad this guy isn’t a Buc. Doesn’t seem qualified enough.

Sounds like that OC is pretty damn butt hurt that he doesn’t have Winston on his team. Or else the only thing he knows about Winston is from cnn. Smdh.
