A chance to look at young players and give them a chance to make a team.
A chance for our team to practice against real opponents before the season starts…if nothing else, it helps to get the timing in place.
Real practice for our rookie kicker.
Real practice for our returners, because teams are more willing to provide opportunities to run back.
WHAT CONCERNS ME ABOUT PRESEASON FOOTBALL:
The chances that our starters can get hurt because so many noobs are playing and trying to leave a mark…even by hitting dirty or doing things wrong out of ignorance.
So I prefer our starters not get much playing time at all, especially once the backups come in for the other team.
I like watching Buc preseason games but that’s about it.I usually get the preseason pass on NFL dot com for $20 to watch the Bucs games. This year all I can find is a $99 package with a bunch of junk I either don’t want or Sunday Ticket already has. Does anyone know of a better way for out of towners to watch these games live and legally without spending out the ass? I’d hate to spend a hundy for just four preseason games.
I went with not sure. Who am I kidding, I will watch the games, even Buc games that don’t count have some interest after the long offseason with no football. Have to weed out the cuts. The practice countdown to the real deal.
I can’t wait. It’s the first bit of football I get all year to calm my withdrawals. I love the camp battles. I love the over aggressive special teams hits by those who probably won’t make the team. I love tailgating weekly or biweekly. I mostly love the cannons blowing out my eardrums.
I don’t watch it. Better things to do. Its basically a contest to uncover some hidden gems. The regulars play sparingly. Besides the results don’t count. Some teams go almost undefeated in preseason then flop come regular season. Ring a bell?
@loveandwarrick…..LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL……all jokes aside I love preseason….a chance to see our depth, watch players battle for their lives…I love it…GO BUCS!!!!
I can’t wait. Meaningless or not. Just seeing any form of Bucs on the field after being starved of them for so many months is going to put a smile on my face.
The games are meaningless and we shouldn’t have to pay regular prices. But it is football, the first football that we get so of course I love the preseason because if for nothing else it’s a precursor for the season to come.
Didn’t vote – but am excited to get a glimpse of what this year’s team looks like. In general though, I’m not a big fan of NFL pre-season and think is is absolute BS that the owners charge full price for exhibition games – and especially the part of forcing season ticket holders to pay full price if they want to guarantee their seat for regular season games. Its like holding your best customers hostage and forcing them to pay too much for something they may or may not even want.

I like them…but I need to qualify my answer.
To me, it is this:
A chance to look at young players and give them a chance to make a team.
A chance for our team to practice against real opponents before the season starts…if nothing else, it helps to get the timing in place.
Real practice for our rookie kicker.
Real practice for our returners, because teams are more willing to provide opportunities to run back.

I’ll watch on TV, but it’s too hot in August to sit in the stands and watch a meaningless game. I usually give my tickets away for preseason games.

I never miss a Bucs game. Period.
I did snooze during one once, but it was because I worked all thru the night before to meet a deadline.
Don’t have that problem this week, got my latest book done two days ago.
