Donovan Smith Happy For Mike Smith
August 9th, 2016Bucs defensive coordinator Mike Smith made it clear recently he’s not trying to throw tricks at the offense just to be a wise guy and show off.
No, Smith noted every way his defense attacks the Bucs’ offense in training camp practice is choreographed. It’s all done for a purpose: preparation for both the defense and the offense.
And one guy happy about that is left tackle Donovan Smith. The Scourge of the Spreadsheeters, Smith yesterday all but thanked Smith for throwing curveballs at the offense because that will only make it better.
“The defense is throwing a lot at us,” Smith said. “It’s only going to help us come season time. We just got to go with whatever looks they’re giving us and fit it in to how we block it and protect it and go from there.”
This has Joe geeked. It means the Bucs will be more prepared. First, the defense won’t be so predictable. Joe isn’t sure about his readers, but Joe was fully fed up watching trash quarterbacks light up the Bucs as if Dan Marino circa 1987 had been placed in a time capsule and dropped from the sky.
Second, the offense won’t be surprised if teams throw an exotic blitz at them. You know, been there, done that?

I’m geeked too Joe … can’t wait for us to turn the dogs loose.

If hayes makes this pass rush effective, I can honestly see a top 5 defense. We have the pieces.

It’s so nice to finally realize ww have a REAL coaching staff on deck. Add that with all the talent we have acquired as of late and this team has alot of potential. The panzies better enjoy there time at the top because we’re taking over the south sooner than later.

Smith is trying to say “don’t panic because I’m getting beaten so bad everyday in practice….yeah that’s it, he’s throwing crazy stuff at us like stunts, games and blitzes”. Look I love Mike smith, but he didn’t just invent football. For Winston and our Bucs, Smith must step up, if he doesn’t then clearly he was a Lovie draft pick!

Sooner than later indeed Demboyz, sooner than later indeed.

End of 2016 we are going to realize that D Smith is not a Nfl caliber starting left tackle
Doesnt have the footspeed and footwork and never will
Dsmith really depended on Mankins last year and the left side without him is going to get Jameis killed
*I hope Jameis tweaks his ankle in practice for a week before the Arizona game, because I dont think he will make it out alive the whole game

Let’s see…who do I trust or believe…two blog trolls who exhibit minimum qualifications…or a professional NFL staff of talent analyzers and coaches?
Hmmmmm. I think I’ll go with the professionals. D. Smith will be fine. He’s a good run blocker already and if he gets beaten with regularity by edge rushers Koetter will design an offense that supplements D Smith’s protection.
I suspect that play that Joe provided video might be what the doctor orders…#3 floating a pass over the onrushing DE to Sims in space….LB already in a huge mismatch trying to cover Sims. I think we’re going to see that play.

If he struggles,
Move Demar Dotson to LT and insert Cherilus at RT.
And then transform D.Smith into a guard.
Then transform Marpet to Center.
Boom, 2 starters in the 2nd round.

But transform then 2017.
