Doug Martin Was Ready For January & February
July 27th, 2016The artist formerly known as Muscle Hamster reported for duty today at One Buc Palace.
He was looking fit and talking big.
Martin said he not only feels great, but he also was ready for a lot more after 288 carries for 1,402 yards last season.
“I felt like I could play another three or four games,” Martin told Joe and assembled media.
Joe had to laugh. Martin better have been ready for another four games. If the Bucs made the playoffs, that fourth game would have been a Super Bowl!
Martin also emphasized that his 27-year-old body feels young, in part because he didn’t start playing football until his freshman year of high school. For those unaware, Martin was all about basketball before then.

Go get em Dougie. I would love to see this man break the 2000 combined yards mark this season. If Martin stays healthy and looks anything like he did last year, I’d say that is absolutely doable considering that the Oline is certainly tailored for running success and Winston under center has the smarts and talent to keep defenses from stacking the box.

I’d like to see Martin spring up and dunk the basketball, maybe that’s out of his reach. But rest assured he will be showing the quick cutting and scampering spring in his step coming up. RIP the muscle hamster perfect nickname.

I hope Doug Martin lights it up this season. After all, he had to threaten to leave to get paid. Bucs wanted to get him on the cheap. Its great they finally, Paid the man!

As long as Jameis keeps playing at a high level, then so will Martin. So many idiots on bspn boards keep calling Doug “lucky” and what not. All I do is point out that in 2013-14, when we had chicken spit at quarterback, it affected the running game. But now that we have a quarterback who can take advantage of those stacked boxes, our running game can go as far as Dougie does, which is pretty far. It’s just astounding how the average fan knows so little. I guess cliche’ story lines are all you know when bspn is your primary source of sports info.
