Talks owning offensive tackles.
Rookie defensive tackle Noah Spence walked into the Bucs’ media workroom today freshly showered after underwear football practice.
Joe cannot remember the last time a Bucs player did this. Former players, coaches, celebrities? Sure. Never a player on the active roster.
But it happened and, for the first time, Spence seemed at ease and glib. Before, including at the NFL Scouting Combine, Spence came across shy, quiet if not a bit scared.
While Spence is hardly Simeon Rice or Warren Sapp (yet), he opened up today and had quite a few nuggets. They including the following about taking control of an offensive tackle and what it feels like to know you have bested your man across the line of scrimmage.
“I feel like you can get in an offensive lineman’s head,” Spence said. “You feel like that’s your girl for the rest of the day.”
Now that sounds like a pass rusher to Joe!
Joe will have more about Spence coming. Some cool stuff. You can tell he’s starting to get comfortable in the NFL.
And no, Spence was not suggesting doing anything untoward to anyone.

I think that exactly what he was going for. I love it! How could u not? But then again he needs to grow up a little still. He is subtlety funny (not an lower) and that can easily be misinterpreted.

IF… And it’s a big if… But IF Spence can grow into a premier pass rusher, the Bucs will be superbowl contenders on a yearly basis.

I think Spence will let his play do the talking. But as he gets more comfortable as Joe pointed out, I think you will see him open up more, and become more vocal on and off the field.
