Pairs Dwindling At Ticketmaster
September 8th, 2009While fans in many NFL cities wonder whether they’ll be able to watch their favorite teams from their living rooms, there’s still no offical announcement about Sunday’s opening day against the Cowboys being televised locally.
However, Joe suspects the game is already a lock to be on the tube. But the Bucs want everyone to assume a blackout is imminent, so they’ll keep inquiring about tickets.
Joe has been monitoring Ticketmaster.com and now there are very few pairs of tickets available. The pickins are slim, about what the Bucs had available online a few days before many games last year.
Remember, per NFL rules those expensive club seats at the CITS don’t need to be sold for the Bucs to avoid a blacked out game.

Question. In the unfortunate event that a Bucs’ game is blacked out, does the network put an alternate game on or are we subjected to three hours of SlapChop infomercials? Does anyone know?

SlapChop infomercials. There are usually 2 games per league televised. (Or rather, 2 game slots filled per network, Fox and… NBC? CBS? Whoever.) If one of those involves a non-sold out home game, then that time slot is filled with filler material in the team’s home market. I’m pretty sure this doesn’t apply for Sunday Night or Monday Night games. (I might be wrong, though.)
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go clean something with my ShamWow.
