A New Honor For Jameis?

Joe’s taking a break from wall-to-wall draft coverage to bring you an important observation.
Tonight’s NFL Network draft broadcast is littered promos for the Top-100 Players Of 2016, as voted by the NFL players themselves. And the commercials include America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston. Nothing actually states Jameis earned the honor, but that’s the implication.
The annual series kicks off Wednesday night, when Nos. 91 through 100 will be unveiled.
After his stunning 2010 season, Josh Freeman was voted the 83rd best player in the NFL. Mike Williams, then a rookie, was 80th.
No, it’s not silly to think Jameis has pulled down another honor delivered by his peers. There’s rampant leaguewide respect for his game and approach.

I’m going to wild guess Jameis will fall in the 45 to 60 range.

JW will likely regress in 2016. NFL defensive coordinators are very smart. They will take away what he likes to do and he will have to adjust. I predict an average season in 2016 and then on to greatness!

Bucnut, You are discounting Jameis’ abilities to continue to improve. Like he did all of last year, you can tell by how much slimmer and more fit he looks that he’s dedicated himself to improving during the offseason. I think we’ll be looking at a leaner, cleaner, better version of Jameis come preseason and beyond.

NFL defensive coordinators are very smart? Leslie Frazier and Lovie Smith prove otherwise.

With Lovie gone I expect Jameis to improve on 2015 simply because of better game management and hopefully a healthy arsenal of weapons around him. He should get more opportunities with the support of a stouter defense. 5,000 yards passing is within reach, along with 30+ TDs.

I know coach my scheme was not the best coach in the world but you have to admit he had nothing to do with the offense,if anything Koetter started calling bullspit later in the year and he definitely wasn’t calling good red zone plays.. Now the stouter defense I can agree with that.

Crusty……..Lovie had everything to do with game management. Koetter won’t make those same mistakes over and over again. Lovie had little to do with the success of the offense, but he definitely had a hand in the screw ups.
