Draft Countdown Open Thread
April 28th, 2016We’re now less than hours from Roger Goodell walking to the podium and calling the Buccaneers’ next great hope.
Joe’s got the Jason Licht/Team Glazer photo here because, in fact, Team Glazer is part of the shotcalling team when it comes to a first-round pick, especially an early first-round pick.
Licht was seen on the One Buc Palace fields the past two days with Team Glazer for very long stretches.
Have your final say in the comments. Call your first-round pick. State your prayers. … And make plans to attend Joe’s draft party.

Vernon Hargreaves the Third baby!!!!
and that’s all I want…
April 27th, 2016 at 9:02 pm
Just not Bosa. I’m basically good with anybody in the top 9 except him (and the QBs)
April 27th, 2016 at 9:04 pm
I agree..I think Bosa is like a Bobo de la Yuca type..(for those Spanish speakers)
April 27th, 2016 at 9:09 pm
Emanuel Ogbah!
April 27th, 2016 at 9:09 pm
I agree with Kalind and LOBF. Bosa scares me. He has the same baggage as Noah Spence only Spence paid his dues and seemed to have learned. In addition OSU faithful all believe Spence was the better player.
My dream is that Ramsey…yeah long shot but not impossible…falls to us at either 9 or maybe we toss in MG8 to move up to get him.
My wildest fantasy right now is that we somehow get lucky with the way the picks fall and Licht’s ability to move picks that we end up with Ramsey and Spence.
Get those two and the rest will be gravy and imagine the difference that would make in our D this year.

I would be happy with VHIII but it would sure be sweet if Buckner would be there
April 27th, 2016 at 9:16 pm
My wish list
1 Shaq Lawson (DE) 2 Vernon Butler (DT) 3 Jeremy Cash (S) 4 Maurice Canada (CB) 5 Jack Allen (Center) 6 Moritz Boehringer (WR) 6 Dan Vitale (FB)
April 27th, 2016 at 9:16 pm
Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalen or Bosa.
April 27th, 2016 at 9:25 pm
Ramsey, Rankins, Spence, Ogbah.
Figure out a way to grab two of them Licht!
Saftey, CB, WR, and O line after that, maybe another DT/DE….
April 27th, 2016 at 9:30 pm
21hrs. 30min
April 27th, 2016 at 9:40 pm
I think I am as nervous as the draft class…no amount of sleeping pills is going to knock my happy arse down..
What’s this I am hearing about Ramsey now??? Is there a chance he might fall to us?? Or is that just Twitter making stupid jokes…
April 27th, 2016 at 9:46 pm
NFL Draft is now officially rated higher than Xmas on my annual list of events
April 27th, 2016 at 9:47 pm
Bosaaaaaaaa,Tampaaaaaaaa
April 27th, 2016 at 9:57 pm
So you guys really don’t want Bosa? He is a legit pass rusher. Plus who didn’t take ectasy in college?
April 27th, 2016 at 9:58 pm
Round 1 Pick 9: Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky
Round 2 Pick 8: Karl Joseph, SS/FS, West Virginia
Round 3 Pick 11: Sheldon Day, DT/DE, Notre Dame
Round 4 Pick 10: Joe Dahl, OG/OT/C, Washington State
Round 5 Pick 9: Daniel Lasco, RB, California
Round 6 Pick 8: Mike Thomas, WR, Southern Mississippi
Round 6 Pick 22: Dan Vitale, FB, Northwestern
April 27th, 2016 at 10:04 pm
Lenard Floyd is the pick according Mike Mayok. Can bend so well and run th hoop like he is walking down an empty street but he is as skinny as Nicole Richie in early 2000s. Fingers Crossed for Bosa or Dodd they both are the best 4-3 ends in the draft.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:04 pm
Tampaa Bossaaaa chant?
April 27th, 2016 at 10:07 pm
Bosa/Buckner/Ramsey at #9……OR….trade down for an extra 2nd rounder and get Floyd/Dodd/Rankins/Ogbah Round #1. Shepard or B. Miller in Round #2. Best available Safety or DB in Round #3.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:08 pm
@Stpetebucsfan – the DREAM scenario for me too. Imagine that! If Licht could pull that off… The man truly pisses excellence – Ricky Bobby nod !!! Anyways, Just watched some Leonard Floyd tape… He’s a beast, mayock mocked him to us. Wouldn’t b mad.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:09 pm
Floyd shines at LB (not a need) and bend the edge. Beyond that, he is dog meat.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:10 pm
Shaq Lawson (would like to trade down and still get him)
Karl Joseph in 2nd or in 1st if we trade back in with extra picks from trade down from 9th. Might not be available in 2nd, if not take best wr available or trade down and grab same receiver (mike thomas fuller sterling etc)
And I like James Bradberry in the 3rd round and Matt Judon on day 3. Regardless I deeply trust Jason Licht and I know he won’t make a huge mistake by drafting floyd at 9.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:11 pm
Nkemdiche 1st pick or Stanley then go get joseph at DB or ohiost safety but get a safety
April 27th, 2016 at 10:14 pm
Busts of the First Round: Paxton Lynch, Leonard Floyd, Mackensie Alexander. Anybody wanna try to guess any more? Lol
April 27th, 2016 at 10:16 pm
Vonn Bell makes me nervous with lack of combine stats and appears to be one of the weaker players on that sefense helped by future nfl stars darron lee eli apple bosa
April 27th, 2016 at 10:21 pm
GUYS………there is only one day til the draft. You Gotta check this out and try it yourself. Be Jason Licht persay and do a Mock Draft Simulation’
http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/
April 27th, 2016 at 10:22 pm
The only downside to it is there are no trades. You are the Bucs GM and the computer picks all other picks as per which draft site you chose.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:22 pm
VH3 would not surprise me as a bust. Hope not but it wouldn’t shock me. Of course he could be a Buc so if so he better be what he is touted to be.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:23 pm
Bosa!
April 27th, 2016 at 10:23 pm
@CollegeBuc
Willing to wager Leonard Floyd, A’Shawn Robinson, and Laquon Treadwell will all be bust-tasticc
April 27th, 2016 at 10:26 pm
I have picked up Kevin Dodd in my last two drafts in the Second round…………..
April 27th, 2016 at 10:27 pm
BucsfaninChina………….Spence at 9??? Really?
April 27th, 2016 at 10:29 pm
@SB with Jameis
If it wasn’t for the whole molly thing that happening 2 or 3 frigging years ago, we would be talking about Spence being in the top 5.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:33 pm
I get all that but with the grade on him being Barely first round you have to trade back and get him. You can’t waste a 9.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:34 pm
Hey China… seriously scroll up and check out the link I sent. Try your own mock simulation as Bucs GM. Tell me who your 6 end up as. You get to pick which mock draft site you go up against.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:41 pm
Already use first-pick.com
But thanks 🙂
And about Spence… I am not all that convinced that the “pundits” assessment of where he will fall is accurate. Tape don’t lie and I absolutely love his. Fully anticipating he will go earlier than what the pundits grade. I recommend you read Stephen White’s assessment on him that came out on SBNation the other day.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:45 pm
VH III will be the pick if he’s available and we stay at 9.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:45 pm
@SB,
That link is pretty cool man! Which board did you use for the simulation? I did the composite big board, ended up with:
1- DT Rankins
2 – DE Ogbah
3 – DE Kafusi
All my other 3rd round hopefuls were gone, but this wouldn’t be bad…
April 27th, 2016 at 10:45 pm
The more I think of Bosa, the more nervous I get. I really don’t think he’s the pass-rush answer, and on NFLN today, there was a suggestion that he might enjoy partying a little too much and end up a bust. I don’t like him and I’d rather wait until round 2 to pick a pass rushing DE. I have no idea what Jason Licht thinks.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:45 pm
I would prefer Spence over either of those DEs though to be honest.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:51 pm
My gut tells me we will miss out on any of the elite players in this draft. We end up reaching for Lawson.
Which works out for us because he is a 4-3 DE and possibly the best pass rusher of the top 5 Rated DEs.
Him and spence are the 2 best pass rushers i would jizz my oants if we could find a way to draft both of them.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:54 pm
Tired another simulation going after Spence in the 1st round:
1- DE Spence
2 – S Karl Joseph
3 – WR Pharoh Cooper
4 – DT Sheldon Day
April 27th, 2016 at 11:07 pm
Yeah unbelievable I tried Composite, Draftek, Draftgeeks and NFL so far. I think I got my best draft against the Composite.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:13 pm
I don’t get the Bosa hate … if he falls to 9, Bucs should run not walk that pick to the commish, IMO. Everything I see has him the No. 1 DE, and he’s ideal for a 4-3 …. Buckner is a tweener (maybe better for 3-4 DE) as is Spence (maybe better for 3-4 OLB). He got the No. 1 overall grade by Scouts/McShay, No. 2 overall on Kiper’s Big Board. No. 1 DE on Bob McGinn’s list based on scouts’ input. I just think he’s easily the best fit for our D and our need, and if he were to fall it’s a no-brainer.
Lawson probably my next fave at 9, wouldn’t mind Rankins. Getting a little nervous about VHIII ….. and would be happy with a trade down and maybe pick up another second.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:15 pm
don’t forget we need to get that dadbern kicker from FSU now that the kicking game is changing on us. They ‘aint gimmies anymore!
April 27th, 2016 at 11:17 pm
Picking against Luke Easterling – Bucs Blitz right now. Got Myles Jack at no. 9. Just took Ogbah in the second over Karl Joseph.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:17 pm
Since we’re all dreaming here, who’d be upset if mo ended up in Tampa through a glennen trade? We’ll even throw in a 3rd. Then draft best available, throughout.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:19 pm
Braxton Miller in the third? Or Sheldon Day? Ima go Miller.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:20 pm
Spence at 9, Ogbah in the second, Safety in the third… Trade for glennon gets us another 3rd and 5th… Book it!!!
April 27th, 2016 at 11:21 pm
Lol I took Miller and got Day in the 4th! I feel like Licht last yr. Lol
April 27th, 2016 at 11:23 pm
Daniel Lasco in the 5th.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:24 pm
Took a flyer on Kevin Peterson in the 6th CB from OKst.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:30 pm
SB that site is great and addicting. Been on it since last year. Pay the $3 bucks and you can do trades.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:37 pm
DAMN BucGator. I didn’t know that. Damn I woulda been slacking on work And family time if I had known that.!!!
April 27th, 2016 at 11:46 pm
This mock is supposing a trade back with the Titans getting an extra third and fifth.
1 – DT/DE – Robert Nkemdiche – Manbeast, size, speed, burst
2 – DE – Kevin Dodd – Another Manbeast, size, speed
3 – S – TJ Green – Fastest safety at the combine
3 – WR – Pharoh Cooper – Great slot receiver, would also take any of – Tyler Boyd, Sterling Shepard, Braxton Miller
4 – OLB – Jaylon Smith – He is hurt but we don’t really need him to play this year anyhow so let’s take a shot
5 – CB – Jonathan Jones – Fastest corner in the draft, can also jump
5 – OT – Joe Haeg – Top performer in the 40 and broad jump
6 – FB – Glenn Gronkowski – Hoping he has some of his brother’s skills and could transition to a TE
6 – G – Joe Thuney – Top performer in the 40, broad jump, and 3 cone drill
April 28th, 2016 at 12:22 am
That site is really addictive.
What I noticed was that by passing on Rankins in the 1st, and going after a DE, there was always Sheldon Day still available in the 4th round…
Obviously it’s just a BS simulator, but damn fun! Don’t think the real draft will play out that way. I still think Rankins, Ogbah, and Kafusi wouldn’t be bad with our 1st 3 picks, although i’d like to grab Karl Joseph somehow instead.
April 28th, 2016 at 12:36 am
I think it’s obvious the pick is Lawson though. Best pure 4-3 edge rusher, great resume, rushes from all over the line. Think back to statement about “bridge players” on D like Ayers who also rushes from all over the line in a 4-3. Of course if the right guy falls or a great trade opens up this might change. But if the Bucs stay at 9 and no miracle occurs, Shaq is the pick.
April 28th, 2016 at 12:50 am
I’m just hoping that the crappy night the Lightning gave us tonight doesn’t carry over to the Bucs later today…
April 28th, 2016 at 12:59 am
Bosa, then grab Carl nassib.watch some film on carl and a you will be right there with me helping Bosa together Super Bowl
April 28th, 2016 at 1:01 am
he plays real small then you look at him compared to everyone on the field and he’s huge this guy might be the best the end.Carl and bosa.then wr.rankins is looking better erday, next to gmc wow
April 28th, 2016 at 1:28 am
If we don’t take a DT at #9, I would love to see the Bucs somehow end up with A. Billings from Baylor by trading back in to the bottom of round 1. He would compliment McCoy perfectly. Add him and Bosa and that would be amazing.
April 28th, 2016 at 2:52 am
trade down in first. Get another 3rd. Trade glennon for another 3rd
1- LawsonDE
2- Joseph S
3- WR Best available with speed
3- Nassib DE
3- Jaylon Smith ?? Best LB IN DRAFT. Won’t play until 2017 though. Top 15 talent.
4- Day DT
April 28th, 2016 at 3:02 am
Did the simulation .
Doctson
Spence
Vonn Bell
Cyrus Jones
Aguyo
Braverman
Dan Vitale
April 28th, 2016 at 3:03 am
I also could see the scenario I mention above and trading back up in the first for a Dodd or Spence if they fall far enough.
Id love Safety – Joseph or Neal in Rd 2 though
Then WR in Rd 3
April 28th, 2016 at 3:18 am
#9 and glennon to the jets for big mo and 20
#20 William Jackson 3 or apple
2nd round) Karl Joseph
April 28th, 2016 at 4:14 am
Floyd, Spence, C. Jones, P. Cooper….in a no trade scenario.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:30 am
If we pass on Rankins, all I have to say is he will knock Jameis out in a NO uniform.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:32 am
And why do people think Bosa will fall to us, it won’t happen. Oh Rankins will be better than Bosa, guarantee it.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:56 am
In a perfect world we would trade down and then get the following.
Rankins or Lawson
Ogbah or Billings or possibly Spence
Then somehow Joseph or Bell falls to us
Aguyo or best OL
Boehringer
Gronkowski
Jakeem Grant as the cherry on top
Yep I’m dreaming but sometimes dreams come true .
April 28th, 2016 at 5:18 am
Ezekiell Elliott and trade Doug gingerbreadman Martin to the dolphins.
April 28th, 2016 at 7:03 am
Rankins
Bell
Aguay0
=
happy!
April 28th, 2016 at 7:17 am
The problem is the site sets you up for disappointment sometimes. The boards of NFL GMs is usually very different
April 28th, 2016 at 7:41 am
@bucsfan inChina
read that arcticle on Spence and it was imformative.my take was that Spence could bend in toward defender and take shortest route to QB.A skill that both the Denver DE’s posess and look what they did to Brady and Newton.
April 28th, 2016 at 8:10 am
Can not wait to see what DT or DE the Bucs draft tonight!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!
April 28th, 2016 at 8:13 am
licht has a tough job.most of our defensive players have come out with a new attitude and want to prove their play or lack of was due to Lovie’s failed system.so Licht has to sift through these players to identify our needs.some areas may not be as needy as we think.I would like to see William gholston
break out this year.then we need only one DE.McCoy and Macdonald are entering 7 th year so there is need to plan for the future.Chris Conte is a good player but he has battled injuries.Macdougald has come out and said he has to be more consistant.I would think safety. At corner Licht just may stand pat and see how the competition shakes out.He brought in two new potential starters.
April 28th, 2016 at 8:32 am
You guys are right, that mock draft tool is addictive. Here is my Bucs mock draft class I would love the most. Using Fanspeak’s, here is what I have.
DT Sheldon Rankins
DE Emmanuel Ogbah
DE Bronson Kaufusi
WR Pharoh Cooper
K Roberto Aguayo
FB Glenn Gronkowski
CB Taveze Calhoun
April 28th, 2016 at 8:40 am
also would like to see banks and verner get a fair shot to compete.
April 28th, 2016 at 8:40 am
Hey Marine….
That is a great draft right there!
April 28th, 2016 at 8:44 am
Going out on a limb here with this one but We all seem to forget the hole we have at OLB. I betcha if bosa isn’t there and Jack is, we’ll snag jack.
April 28th, 2016 at 8:57 am
Trade up for Bosa or Ramsey if they slip. Other than that, D line.
April 28th, 2016 at 9:03 am
@GerbilsGoneWild
First I am going to nominate you for top 5 weirdest screen names on JBF!!!
also, did you forget about Daryl Smith!!! And do not be surprised if DSmith plays a little mlb and Kwon plays some OLB on first and second downs. Coach Smitty moved some LB’s around in his ole Jags days!!!

Forget about competing!!! get some DL and lets see them start succeeding!!!!!
April 28th, 2016 at 9:29 am
Thanks Dooshlarue.
On the OLB comment, I like the idea of drafting LSU LB….Kwon’s old stomping ground partner. I took him in one of my mocks. In this one, he was not available in the 4th round so I took Cooper.
April 28th, 2016 at 9:32 am
saw Joel Glazer this morning, he looked really happy and excited. I take that as a good sign that they have something up their sleeve for tonight.
April 28th, 2016 at 9:46 am
Trade back if you can’t get Bosa, Buckner or Ramsey. Then pick up Noah Spence.
April 28th, 2016 at 9:52 am
VERNON HARGREAVES III……GO BUCS!!!!
April 28th, 2016 at 9:58 am
My Official 2016 NFL Draft Wishlist
This is not a mock draft. It is a wishlist, meaning I would like for the team to get any of these players. I didn’t break down into rounds to make predictions. I did it to list where I think is the lastest point they might be taken. Note: I got 4 of my guys last year. I was a happy camper.
Round 1, Pick 9 (9)
Ronnie Stanley – Right Offensive Tackle
Jack Conklin – Offensive Tackle
Round 1, Pick 32 (TRADE our 2nd and MIKE GLENNON to the BRONCOS)
Leonard Floyd – OLB/DE
Kevin Dodd – Defensive End
Round 2, Pick 8 (39) (IF NO TRADE)
Leonard Floyd – OLB/DE (if falls)
Noah Spence – Defensive End
Corey Coleman – Wide Reciever
Round 3, Pick 11 (74)
D.J. White – Corner Back
Braxton Miller – Wide Receiver/Hybrid Quarterback
Round 4, Pick 10 (108)
Deon Jones – OLB
Round 5, Pick 9 (148)
Beau Sandland – Tight End
Roberto Aguayo – Kicker
Deiondre’ Hall – Corner Back (change to Safety)
Round 6, Pick 8 (183)
Deon Bush – Safety
James Cowser – Defensive End
Round 6, Pick 22 (197) (From Redskins)
Andy Janovich – Full Back
Kenyan Drake – RB (Returner)
UNDRAFTED PLAYERS WORTH CONSIDERING
Shawn Oakman – Defensive End
Jakeem Grant – Return Specialist
Kevin Hogan – Quarterback
April 28th, 2016 at 10:01 am
Nothing Clemson. Period.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:02 am
You’ll notice its not a purely defensive draft wishlist. I don’t believe Licht plans to go that route.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:06 am
Last year, I was the lone voice calling for Ali Marpet. I thought we would try to get him in round 3, but Licht traded up to take him.
I also wanted Kenny Bell…and I still hope for the best with him.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:15 am
It’s possible Myles Jack plummets down to the third round. Would be hard not to take him there.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:18 am
That mock draft simulator is fun. I make no claims to be a draftnik.

He looks the safest, most reliable bet in many ways. Read and watch:

I don’t think any of the mockers, including Mayock, have predicted the Bucs pick accurately.
Therefore, I believe it is a position many don’t expect. RT.

Guy I work with who eats, drinks, sleeps and breathes UGA football says Leonard Floyd has high bust potential written all over him.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:57 am
@coopsxx – I think you are right and it’s funny that NFL.com compares him to Michael Bennett. The knocks on him are a lack of playing time, hand and rush techniques, and lack of patience which is normal for a young man.
April 28th, 2016 at 11:13 am
@USFBUC
i think if he played for any other school most people would be talking about him.

April 28th, 2016 at 12:12 pm
BTW – I’m OK trading out of 9 or even up (if Ramsey is there, but wouldn’t give up the farm or anything just to move-up a few spots).Historically, the ninth draft pick overall hasn’t produced many hall of famers….I would trade back a little and be able to grab ogbah (the guy has potential to be the best defensive player in the draft….ramsey currently is, imo). Rankins is fine….but Billings might even be better than Rankins when it’s all said and done….can trade back up to land Billings or another stud dlineman late in the first round with the extra pick.
April 28th, 2016 at 12:26 pm
I read Jacksonville may want to trade down and still pick Jack. Maybe flip spots with them so they can get Jack ahead of NY and we can get our pick of the litter

If Floyd gets picked in the top 10 I hope the media grills Licht during the presser. It would be a pure ego pick, saying ‘hey I know this guy wasn’t that great in college and has significant deficits but my coaches are SO GOOD that we will MAKE HIM a great player.’
Newsflash, you can’t make someone great. NFL coordinators find a players weakness and will exploit it time and time again. Expect a lot of runs to Floyd’s side for whatever team he plays for.

Despite no foreseeable team need the irrational fan in me would love to see the Bucs snag Hackenberg IF they trade MG8 and Hackenberg is still on the board when the Bucs pick in the 3rd or later rounds. I know the Bucs are hopefully set at QB and have far more pressing needs, but pundits and analysts be damned I think Havkenberg is gonna end up one of the best in the NFL in a few years time. Perhaps I’ll be in the same boat as Joe with all his Manziel predictions, but at least I won’t be alone with fans who make idiotic predictions on players that bust 🙂
Back to Bucs reality, I think pass rush is by far the number 1 team need, so I’ll let Licht and company decide who they think is the best guy to put opposing QB’s on the turf. I’m ok with OT if by some fluke Ronnie Stanley is on the board when the Bucs make their 1st round pick.
April 28th, 2016 at 1:07 pm
If Floyd gets picked in the top 10 I hope the media grills Licht during the presser. It would be a pure ego pick, saying ‘hey I know this guy wasn’t that great in college and has significant deficits but my coaches are SO GOOD that we will MAKE HIM a great player.’
——————————–
I would say its more of an egotistical to assume to know exactly why they made that pick when everything we’ve seen over the last few years suggest Licht puts a whole lot more into selecting players than just ego.

Seeing SB with Jameis converse with BucGator is like watching a crazy person talk to himself..
That draft simulator is cool.
Here’s how my 1st three 4 round draft simulations have gone.
Using Walter Football’s Big Board:
9: R1P9 DT SHELDON RANKINS LOUISVILLE
39: R2P8 S KARL JOSPEH WEST VIRGINIA
74: R3P11 DE CARL NASSIB PENN STATE
108: R4P10 WR PHAROH COOPER SOUTH CAROLINA
Using Fanspeak’s Big Board:
9: R1P9 OT RONNIE STANLEY NOTRE DAME
39: R2P8 OLB/DE NOAH SPENCE EASTERN KENTUCKY
74: R3P11 S VONN BELL OHIO STATE
108: R4P10 DT SHELDON DAY NOTRE DAME
Using Drafttek Big Board:
9: R1P9DE DEFOREST BUCKNER OREGON
39: R2P8 S KARL JOSEPH WEST VIRGINIA
74: R3P11 OLB DEION JONES LSU
108: R4P10 DT SHELDON DAY NOTRE DAME
I think the bottom line for me from this exercise – is that the Bucs are going to wind up with some good players when this draft is finished…

Latest la canfora tweet says Bucs are very open to trading down along with Cleveland.
I think our best bet is still with Titans who could go up to get Conklin before the Giants.
Quick mock I’m feeling:
1-Rams-Goff QB
2-Eagles-Wentz QB
3-Charges-Stanley OT
4-Cowboys-Ramsey S/CB
5-Jags-Bosa DE
6-Ravens-Tunsil OT
7-49ers-Buckner DE
8-Browns-Zeke Elliot RB
9-TRADE-Titans-Jack Conklin OT
10-Giants-Leanord Floyd OLB/DE
11-Bears-Vernon Hargreaves III CB
12-Saints-Paxton Lynch QB
13-Dolphins-William Jackson III
14-Raiders-Reggie Ragland ILB
15-Bucs-Shaq Lawson/ Kevin Dodd / Sheldon Rankins / Noah Spence
15 is a great spot for taking our edge rusher or DT.

If there is anyway they can walk away with Spence and Nkemdiche I will be ecstatic! Then grab a Safety and another DE later on. The need for corner isn’t nearly as high as DL and Safety.
April 28th, 2016 at 1:27 pm
On a side note the Tampa national hate continues. NFL network has reporters in each top 10 city but one. Tampa of course.
April 28th, 2016 at 1:31 pm
Cornelius, that looks like what the draftmight be
April 28th, 2016 at 1:31 pm
Here would be my ultimate 2016 Bucs Draft scenario….
Just before the Draft starts, we trade Glennon to Denver for their 2nd round selection…#63. Then in the first round, we trade up with Dallas or Jax…give them our first round pick next year to swap spots…and take DB Jalen Ramsey. Then in Round 2, we get DE Noah Spence with the first 2nd round pick…then trade up (using the other 2nd rounder from Denver and our 3rd Rounder) to get WR Braxton Miller or Sterling Shepard. Then take the best available Offensive Lineman in Round 4!
This would solve a TON of issues on this team and put us in the playoff hunt! I know the sun, moon and stars would all have to align for this to happen…but hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?
April 28th, 2016 at 1:33 pm
Bosaaaaaaaaaa
Bayyyyyyyyyyyyy
April 28th, 2016 at 1:34 pm
That’s not bad Jeagan. I just don’t want to trade up. This team historically gives up too many picks and doesn’t aquire enough.
I’d rather do a trade back AND the glennon trade and have 3 second round picks and keep our 1st next year. I’m not sure Ramsey is worth 2-3 additional potential starters given the crapshoot nature of every pick anyway
April 28th, 2016 at 1:41 pm
@LC…I hear what you’re saying. It’s all a crapshoot. But there are a lot of good football people who think that Ramsey can be an elite level player, and If we could get him and Spence and a good slot receiver…it might be worth the risk. High risk could equal big return! Guess Licht will just have to trust his scouts and his instincts!
Whatever happens, I’m getting excited to watch how this all unfolds tonight!
April 28th, 2016 at 1:50 pm
@realist
agreed on d-line our DT’s are getting older.DE are deeper so that would be my second round.I heard on the radio that Deforest Buckner coulod play either
DE or DT. that would be a surprise if he gets to us though.hope licht can work some magic and get 2 high quality get more push up the middle and at the edge.
April 28th, 2016 at 1:51 pm
You fans with your off the field concerns I tell ya…..smh.
April 28th, 2016 at 2:00 pm
@Jeagan1999 – I think giving up a first next year is too much. If we were so close that having that one huge impact player would propel us to the promised land then I think we could trade up using a first next year. Reality is though that we will likely be drafting in the middle of the round next year and have a chance to take a solid corner in the first round. Jalen Tabor will hit the draft next year and VH3 has even said that Jalen Tabor is better than him.
April 28th, 2016 at 2:29 pm
@ realist
Good point didn’t consider that.
April 28th, 2016 at 2:36 pm
Trade up for Ramsey. Get a DL in the 2nd round and a WR in the third or trade into the late 2nd for a WR if a decent one is still there. I wish we could move Glennon for some more ammunition to trade with.
April 28th, 2016 at 2:38 pm
I am not too concerned with any picks after round 4, so go get the top guys that we have on our board.

April 28th, 2016 at 2:50 pm
@USFBUC…ordinarily I’d probably agree with you….but things seem different today. In a world where Head Coaches and GM’s only get 2 years to build a wining program…or get fired…it seems like this is the kind of calculated risk that they must now make sometimes. There’s no doubt Ramsey is one of the (maybe the) top player(s) in this Draft. And it seems like he might now fall to 4 or 5 because of the teams wanting QB’s and OT’s…so there is a possibility…small though it may be…that something like the scenario I outlined above could happen. Ordinarily, the Bucs would have no shot to move up and get a guy like this…not from #9….but circumstances might work out in our favor this year. I know its still a huge longshot…but IF it could work out that way, I’d be OK giving up next years 1st rounder for a potential elite level guy like Ramsey…and IF we can still add a good edge rusher in round #2!
Only a few more hours to go and we will see what happens!
April 28th, 2016 at 2:57 pm
Almost 3pm. I’m having a hard time getting any work done. I’m here but not really here.
Go Bucs !!!!!!!
April 28th, 2016 at 2:57 pm
The Bucs need some good vibes for this first round pick, Time to cue up The Beatles White Album and number 9 number 9 number 9, that’ll help.
April 28th, 2016 at 3:02 pm
copycatting that online drafting (kind of addictive):
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 9: Sheldon Rankins, DT/DE, Louisville (A+)
Round 2 Pick 8: Kevin Dodd, DE/OLB, Clemson (A-)
Round 3 Pick 11: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State (A)
Round 4 Pick 10: D.J. White, CB, Georgia Tech (B-)
Round 5 Pick 9: Deiondre’ Hall, FS, Northern Iowa (C-)
Round 6 Pick 8: Deon Bush, FS, Miami (Fla.) (B-)
Round 6 Pick 22: Victor Ochi, OLB, Stony Brook (D)
April 28th, 2016 at 3:24 pm
Was just reading on Walter Football that the Bucs would be looking to trade back up into the first if Noah Spence is still sitting there at the last few picks. I could get on board with that, although it would crush my dreams of grabbing Sterling Shepard in the 2nd
Just did that mock simulator and it was basically a dream draft
1- Tunsil slips to 9 and I just couldn’t pass him up
2- Floyd slips to the 2nd and I scooped him
3- Sterling Shepard — my boy! had to grab him
April 28th, 2016 at 3:49 pm
seahags might be lookin to trade out of first again.
April 28th, 2016 at 3:54 pm
Somehow, I hope we land Bosa or Ramsey
And Avoid Hargreaves(short, slow) and floyd( skinny build, Weak)
If We end up With Bosa, Ramsey, or the top DT- then first round is a success
April 28th, 2016 at 4:03 pm
mcshay and kiper are also giving floyd to us. there seems to be many link to the bucs and leonard floyd at this point.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:19 pm
If Ramsey is there at 5 I really hope we can find a way to move up without giving up our 2nd rounder this year.
Having the luxury of putting Ramsey on Kelvin Benjamin & Julio Jones 4 times a year would be a HUGE advantage
April 28th, 2016 at 4:36 pm
would you guys be mad if we traded Glennon to just swap pics with Cleveland at 8 to grab our Guy?
April 28th, 2016 at 4:36 pm
I see no reason to move up from 9.
Simply put, there isn’t a slam dunk, must have player in this draft at any position. There are solid picks…and a solid option will fall to us at 9 without giving up anything.
Now, if the Broncos want Glennon, we could trade our 2nd and him to get back into the first.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:38 pm
@the real Bucobruce
Heck yeah I would be mad. It would be completely dumb. If the Browns want “our guy”, then they wouldn’t trade.
“If they don’t want “our guy”, then he’ll be there for us at 9…directly after the browns.
Make zero sense to trade up one spot.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:40 pm
Can we please-please find a way to land the Nigerian Nightmare? Ogbah has the speed floyd has but can play every down at DE……and has the frame and power…and one of the most upside of any d’ players in this class!
April 28th, 2016 at 4:41 pm
Defensive line is deeper than DB in this draft and we need DB talent. I would do what it takes to get Ramsey. I think we can still get DL help in the 2nd but a WR would not surprise me either. I think we will get more production from the DL due to good coaching this year but DB and WR we are thin at and although I like Grimes, he is a bandaid. V Jax is getting long in the tooth and we need weapons for Winston. I say trade up and grab Ramsey then take a WR with our next pick. I just really hope we can land 3 contributors at least with this draft to build on what we accomplished in last years draft.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:45 pm
The last time someone traded up 1 spot was the browns for Richardson.
lol the 1 spot trade is always bad i feel like
April 28th, 2016 at 4:47 pm
Bonzai, the concern is that another team would trade with the Browns and take “our guy”
April 28th, 2016 at 4:52 pm
Not that it means much but Kiper now has the Bucs taking LB Leonard Floyd… I guess if you do enough mock drafts you can put every possible selection on one of them and then claim you nailed it by pointing to your mock draft version 2301 that had that one pick right that time around.
Anywho he says Floyd would be an excellent pass rusher… well we already have an excellent pass rushing LB in David.
April 28th, 2016 at 4:56 pm
Theyre going wide receiver in the first. Thats why theyre so eerily confident their guy will be there.
April 28th, 2016 at 5:10 pm
I’m fine with whatever they do, they earned the benefit of the doubt.
I do, however, think they should –
Trade a little. Get another 3rd.
1- Lawson DE
2- Joseph S
3- a WR
3- a DE ( Nassib?) or DT
4- OL
5-7 BPA – probably an LB in there
I just do not like the idea of trading up. They can land smother 4 big time contributors/ starters. They trade up they get 2. For what? I don’t think bosa is head and shoulders above Lawson or Dodd or Spence etc…
I definitely do not think that Ramsey is worth it. He is good, but he is not s game changer on D like a damn good DE will be. Joseph or Neal are not much of a drop from him at Safety in Round 2
April 28th, 2016 at 5:12 pm
Bunch of formulation on Floyd lately.
If they do, hope they are right. He seems awfully small and slender. He gets nailed in the fun game. But… He can play as OLB and rush on 3rd so who knows what they are really looking for.
April 28th, 2016 at 5:12 pm
I know it’s not going to happen but just imagine Kwon LVD and Ramsey all flying around the field at once. The match ups in our favor would be ridiculous!
April 28th, 2016 at 5:12 pm
Speculation
Not – formulation.
April 28th, 2016 at 5:22 pm
Floyd reminds me of Dion Jordan…
April 28th, 2016 at 5:44 pm
Hopefully the Bucs are doing everything they can to build the belief in taking Floyd so they can trade down for a team who wants him.
Floyd is a skinnier version of Gaines Adams. That is all.
April 28th, 2016 at 5:52 pm
No Buckner or Floyd!!!!! they are 3/4 guys, VH3 or Trade back for Dodd or Lawson
April 28th, 2016 at 6:16 pm
Really like what Spence and Lawson bring to the table. I am happy with either pick as well as a CB and a S. Like to see a Tackle and WR in the later rounds.
April 28th, 2016 at 6:16 pm
A DE. 1st and 2nd.
WR 3rd.
Our CB are not as bad as everyone thinks..They had no DLine and a crap scheme last year
April 28th, 2016 at 6:19 pm
ATrain….YEP I like everything you just said, but if Ramsey’s still there at 9….then he’s a Buc.
April 28th, 2016 at 6:21 pm
Bosa 1st spence2nd if still there.i really l ke carl nassib
April 28th, 2016 at 6:24 pm
A ttain, dead on.people don’t realize we actually have two pro bowl corners and Jonathan Banks will be one heck of a good Corner this year under Mike Smith
April 28th, 2016 at 6:27 pm
Come on clocks not moving
April 28th, 2016 at 6:47 pm
CreamsicleBananaHammock Says
“Bonzai, the concern is that another team would trade with the Browns and take “our guy”
So let fear guide our actions?
That always turns out well…
April 28th, 2016 at 6:48 pm
I would not mind reaching for spence. Hes going to wind up landing right in the lap of an already good team. Shame
April 28th, 2016 at 6:57 pm
Rod Munch Says
“I guess if you do enough mock drafts you can put every possible selection on one of them and then claim you nailed it…”
Kiper is copying Mayock.
But your point is well made. That’s why I no longer even both with Mock Drafts. Really, when you think about it, the ratings are created by Mockers…who rarely are right in the Mock Drafts.
That’s why Ali Marpet was judged a 3-4th rounder before last year’s draft. That’s why Tom Brady didn’t go until the 6th round.
Why Kurt Warner went undrafted.
The truth is…all of there mock draft “specialists” actually know as little as we do…sometimes even less. They’re all media heads.
So I now only list players I like who I would be happy to get. If I don’t, big deal. It’s about team improvement to me.
So, say Licht takes a kicker at 9 over all. I would imagine there would be a LOT of meltdowns. I would be upset too, given the other needs, but that doesn’t mean its a bad pick. If the kicker ends up being a hall of famer for us, its a good pick.
If he decides to take an Offensive Guard…well, that would be a huge surprise. But I would have to trust his decision, even though I hate it.
I guarantee this…no matter who is taken at 9 by the Bucs…there will be some happy people and some angry people.
April 28th, 2016 at 7:28 pm
Bonzai, I would not say the Kiper’s and Mayock’s know as little as we do. For one most of the well known ones have contacts throughout the league feeding them information. Some of which is misinformation for sure, but they have been at it long enough to weed some of it out.
Remember someone had to create these random master lists in the first place and it’s the mock draft guru’s that actually get fairly close approximation to where these players are going even if they miss the exact landing spot. Sure, Myles Jack could go from being a top 5 pick to top 20, but we can say with some certainty Goff is 1, Wentz is 2, most likely Ronnie Stanley followed by either Elliot or Ramsey. Tunsil Bosa and Buckner should go top 10.
Where did all of that info come from? Some guy in a basement? No, the hated ‘media heads’ who fed you the information.
April 28th, 2016 at 8:32 pm
Hahaha, so glad SD took that out of our hands. .. Thank you!
April 28th, 2016 at 9:54 pm
I like it, praying spence falls to us in the second
April 28th, 2016 at 11:34 pm
Mn, Panthers go DT again, wow!
April 28th, 2016 at 11:38 pm
A beastly D line that we’ll face twice each year and and they grab V, Butler….man, we couldve really benefited from having Tunsil….oh well.
