“Hoping” Norman Lands With Bucs

Crossing fingers for Bucs.

Crossing fingers for Bucs.

Reports are bleak, as we begin this Friday morning, for free agent Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman finding his way to the Bucs. But one prominent national voice is hoping Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht pulls off the upset.

And that would be none other than popular radio and television personality Adam Schein. The host of “Schein on Sports,” heard exclusively on “Mad Dog Radio,” part of the family of sports channels on SiriusXM Radio, Schein openly pined Thursday for the Bucs to land Norman.

“[Josh Norman is] nuts,” Schein said, “He is a knucklehead. He is a star player. He is a star player. He is nuts. He is a star. I am kind of hoping he will go to Tampa so he can pick off Cam Newton four times a year. He would be ideal for the Bucs.”

It doesn’t appear, however, it is in the cards, unless Norman is using the Redskins to gin up the price of his services.

    Hope is irrelevant

  2. The Buc Realist Says:

If Josh Norman signs with the Redskins then that is still a great thing!!! The Champs of the Division lost a piece of their winning formula!!! That makes the Bucs 1 step closer to competing against them!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!

  3. StPeteBucsFan Says:

You guys are acting like this is the missing piece! He would only make a difference at the margin for us.

Again the strength of Carolina’s defense was their front seven.

Norman is a good DB on a GREAT defense. We are not a GREAT defense. That’s a LOT of money for picking up another head case loud mouth who fights with his QB and has had a good year and a great year…how do we know this is not another Ghost Johnson…great with Jay Hayes and the Bengals great DL…a product of a great system and good coaching.

  4. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

He would be a great addition but we still need salary cap space to sign our draft picks. Licht will make a run at him but won’t break the bank like the deadskins will. Typical move from washington. Throw gobs of money at FA’s and hope it cures everything. Just like the Jaguars. Never gonna have a succeful franchise cause they don’t know how to build one the right way like we are finally starting to do.

Either way it’s a win cause he’s no longer in our division. And the most happy person is gotta be Jameis.

  5. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

Oh I forgot Mike Evans as well. Lol. He wanted to choke that jaw japping fool last season.

  6. MikeJohnson Says:

This is not the time for desperation folks. Norman will come at a very large pricetag. Stick to the draft for now.

  7. Miko Says:

No thanks…He’s a Panther, drafted by the stinking Panthers….Draft our own, keep our own…a new BUCS FAMILY!!!

  8. FLBoyInDallas Says:

He’s not interested in picking off Cam Newton. He’s interested in top dollar, no matter where it is. So if Licht doesn’t back up the Brinks truck to Norman’s front door and start dumping sacks full of cash on his porch he won’t be a Buc.

  9. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @FlyBoy

He’s not interested in picking off Cam Newton. He’s interested in top dollar, no matter where it is.

I agree with your observations but would condense it to a simple observation that covers all of it.

Josh Norman is interested in Josh Norman! His money..his fame..and his MOUTH.
He doesn’t care about the team just his own massive ego.

Listen I’m fine with trash talk. I’m fine with tooting your own horn. My mother and I used to joke with each other all the time about how incredibly smart and talented we are…I like Uptown Funk…because I too am too hot…”Call the police and the fireman…I’m too hot…make a dragon want to retire man.”

#3 likes to yak it up and doesn’t mind a little trash talk. But Fameis won me over by showing me that’s all for fun and just a part of his enthusiam for life…but mostly JW showed me he wants the TEAM to win not just himself

He covered himself in glory last year but he’s not happy about that because his team fared poorly.

It’s fine to enjoy yourself and be loud and proud as long as at the end of the day you are a TEAM player. I see that in #3…I see and absence of it in Norman.

BTW the verdict is still out for me on ME and ASJ. This is the year that will determine their futures as Bucs…great talents…and I HOPE they are truly team players and not me first kind of guys. That’s what made VJAX great.

  10. Luther Says:

Would love to have him onboard for a reasonable price. If he goes to the Skins and blows up their cap numbers…I’m good with that.

  11. OneBuc55 Says:

Norman is Overrated to me…don’t get me wrong he’s a good player but he’s not elite…

If we wanna improve our secondary play we have to fix our front 7 first; the pass-rush in particular…imho our first 2 picks next week should be pass-rushers…In our case, taking a DB early would be like putting the cart before the horse…Anyone who really knows football knows that the games are won and lost in the trenches…if it were up to me our draft would start as follows…1st. DL, 2nd. DL, 3rd. OL, 4th. DB, etc…

  12. ATrain Says:

The Defense has already said THEY GET OT PLAY FOOTBALL NOW>>>

Our Backs were not the problem.. THE COACH WAS ..Playing Jennings

We have good backs.. We need an edge rusher PERIOD..

An edge rusher will take heat off of McCoy and the other DT which will make for a dangerous front 7.. Our LB will destroy people this year cause the LEASH has been taken off..

  13. CrustyCrab Says:

Why does it all ways come back to money. Josh Norman was one of the most underpaid at his position he is 28 why not go out and get paid. A CEO of a company made more than his company. As chief executive officer of Ultimate Software Group Inc., Scherr’s pay tripled to $38.3 million last year, a filing showed this month. That’s far higher than his rivals and more than the company earned itself. It even tops the compensation of Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, who runs a firm 140 times the size of Ultimate.

  14. Couch Fan Says:

Stop. The man had 1 good season, you are acting like he’s had a terrific career and has been treated so badly. Oh lets not forget to mention that the Panthers were prepared to pay him 14 Million but that didnt stop him from pouting, skipping OTAs and becoming a distraction. Enough with the excuses for the headcase. Glad he’s not coming to Tampa.

  15. 813bucboi Says:

@realist….norman is a great player but the panthers will be fine without him and that’s what worries me a little…them letting him go knowing they already have his replacement on the roster….they did go 12-4 with drayton florence and captin munnerlyn a couple years ago….GO BUCS!!!

  16. Pirate n packerland Says:

If the redskins are interested, that’s a red flag right there. Can anyone tell me when was the last they signed a FA for big cash and it worked out? Our corners our good, focus on the draft.

  17. J-U-N-Y Says:

The panthers let him go because his replacement is actually better – he was just injured last year. So, although I hope they take a step back, they probably wont.
Where the hell were all of you when I was arguing with some fools on this site because they wanted norman? lol – some fans focus on the name and the fact we have some money left. Money to not spend on norman!

  18. PRBucFan Says:

bunch of broken records on these here comment threads lmao smh

  19. Bama Rich Says:

2nd response by Bucs Realist is spot on!

  20. Big Marlon B Says:

I bet he’s only considering Washington so he can beat the $hit out of Odell Beckham twice a year lol

  21. gotbbucs Says:

Norman to me is proof in how you build a lasting contender. You have to hit on your 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks. Licht hit on Alexander, if he can hit with two of those three picks in the middle rou ds this year it will go further for us in the long run than signing Norman for two years. Stick to the draft at this point. Wr, 2 D-lineman, 2 DB, then this draft has the potential to turn us closer in the right direction.

  22. J-U-N-Y Says:

gotbucs – they didn’t have a choice because they were broke, in cap hell. they just got “lucky”

  23. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I’m sure his 4 picks per year would always be on the same QB, Adam…

Norman sucks…as will be proven when another team wastes their money on him this year.

  24. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @StPeteBucsFan

Watch this. I’m going to replace Norman’s name, and it will still be accurate…

“I agree with your observations but would condense it to a simple observation that covers all of it.

Darrelle Revis is interested in Darrelle Revis! His money..his fame..and his MOUTH.

He doesn’t care about the team just his own massive ego.”

    hehehehe
