Jaws Doesn’t Like Jags’ Firing

Count former NFL quarterback and current BSPN NFL analyst Ron Jaworski as one man who is not very fond of the Bucs firing offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski.
Speaking on a conference call — along with Chucky — to promote BSPN’s Monday Night Football, Jaws thinks the firing of Jagodzinski just nine days before the season kicks off is very bad for the Bucs, so writes the Tampa Tribune tagteam of Woody Cummings and Anwar Richardson.
“Now if you’re looking at the quarterback situation in Tampa right now, you’re bringing in a rookie in Freeman, you’re bringing in a new guy in Leftwich and you’re in this system and you’re learning this system, now all of a sudden here you are, 10-11 days before your opener, and the guy who has been implementing this system is gone,” Jaworski said. “That’s a setback. I’m not privy to any information as to why that happened, but it’s a setback.
“When you have as much change as the Bucs have had already, I think it makes it very difficult to start the season focused.”
Joe normally likes Jaws and loves how he does his homework and breaks down plays for Joe. But Joe is inclined to think there won’t be much of a drop off with this move, though it is bad timing. The way Josh Freeman raves about Olson, maybe it’s a good thing he is the new offensive coordinator?
That written, Joe would have loved to see how Jagodzinski developed Freeman.

My main concern with Olson is his past experience as an Offensive Coordinator. He was the OC for both the Lions and the Rams. That doesn’t scream success to me. I have to echo your earlier sentiment that I just hope this doesn’t derail Josh Freeman’s development as he seemed to be having a huge hand in that.

I agree with Joe, “there won’t be much of a drop off with this move.” Its the old saying, We can lose without you.

Charkh, Olsen did have very good success with Rams as off coord(they were ranked in the top 10 in the pass and the run), but that Rams offense and this Bucs offense are miles apart.

My oh My! What a year makes. If Gruden had done this, it would be off with his head. What happened, did Jags try to run one of Chuckys plays? Sorry Jags. Wrong direction. Now let’s get down to business and decide which quarterback we are going to blame for the coming season. Which one do we run out of town so they can get their super bowl ring with some other team like we did with Dilfer, Young, and Williams.

Jags was only going to be here for 2 years max b4 he was a head coach somwhere in the NFL..the only plans that got derailed were Jags plans to be an NFL head coach…That being said.I think the Glazers are setting “Dream” up to fail and he will be gone in 2 years…The money the Glazers have is focused on the kickball team they have in England because that is where the profit is..As long as they own both the Bucs will never be a winner..Bucs fans are in for a long “rebuilding” process..

Bill’s right, as long as the Glazers can keep CITS filled at 70-75%, they’re making enough money to pay for BOTH teams! Until the Glazers can get their overseas investment in the black, the Bucs are going to be a distant second to Man U!!!
