Raheem The Dream, Jagodzinski Clashed
September 3rd, 2009Though Raheem the Dream denied it in his press conference today about the firing of his offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski, it’s painfully clear Raheem the Dream and Jagodzinski butted heads on who should be the Bucs starting quarterback.
The local MSM peppered Raheem the Dream with questions, and for the most part Raheem the Dream break danced and dodged the questions with empty answers such as “we wanted to go in a direction… ” yada, yada, yada.
But Raheem the Dream did say one thing that jumped out at Joe. He said he wanted the offense to be more vertical. What was the reason Raheem the Dream has said over and over why he selected Byron Leftwich as the starting QB? Because he can throw the deep ball.
Raheem wanted the Bucs offense to be “more vertical” than what Jagodzinski wanted and Leftwich was chosen because of his arm. You do the math.
“We had to make the move now so we are ready to go for the first game. It’s time,” Raheem the Dream said.
When Joe Henderson of the Tampa Tribune asked Raheem the Dream if he feared this move would send a message that the team is embroiled in chaos, Raheem the Dream openly scoffed.
“When you talk about being in chaos, you talk about not having a plan. We have a plan. We have a zone blocking scheme. We wanted a different direction with the passing game. We wanted a more vertical threat. We are positive in that direction.”
Raheem the Dream also said players were not consulted or involved in the move.
Raheem the Dream stated Greg Olson, the new offensive coordinator, will call the plays.

This is making me very, very queasy, Joe. I’m afraid I’m gonna have to re-up my nervous pills.

I think I need to go lay down. This is depressing!
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:57 pm
I’m going to Vegas to take that under bet before the bookies change it.

Again they miss define bad play calling with bad execution. Leftwich throws those passes better, recievers catch McCowns passes, which both means more scoring(several missed td’s) and this would not be defined as bad play calling!

Its time for the Buc Realist to create a website! come-on joe, lets partner up to make JoeBucsHater.com . Just think of all the web hits!

Let me be a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dreary world. Give the Rah-gieme credit for making the tough decision now and not allowing a rift to grow throught what will be a lost season regardless. Giving ‘Fro-man the chance to learn Olson’s system now rather than picking up Jag’s-off. for his rookie year only to deal with a new O.C. next season is much better for his development. If the writing was on the wall, better to face the music now and turn the pagina. Lets just hope Olson can put in a system that has staying power.

I think joeconcernedbucsfan.com is more appropriate. We’re not haters!

This is almost like being on a ship in storm without your main engine. You can steer and steer, but you have no control. It’s time to pump the bilge at 1 Buc place. Don’t forget the Joy Soap.

Crotchity McGee;
That’s a very, very good point about consistency for Josh Freeman. Joe wrote way back when that if the Bucs offense (under Freeman?) exceled at all, Jagodzinksi would likely leave for a head coaching job which could stunt Freeman’s learning curve, having to learn a new offense all over again.

The only thing we hate is seeing our team continue to jeopardize the season with these type decisions.
September 3rd, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Come on guys Jag’s offense is not that complex and would be very simple to move on from. Maybe they need to make sure Freeman is smart enough to learn/pick up a new offense, cause, let’s be honest teams change off coord’s and def coord’s like jock straps.

What’s the spread on a hypothetical Bucs v Gators game? Lay the points with the Gators at -10? -14? I’m not buying the argument that its professionals vs amateurs when the line would be clearly blurred in that game…
September 3rd, 2009 at 1:55 pm
Hey Alex I’ll take the Gator & 10!! 😉

This was probably a good call by Raheem, recognizing a problem early but giving Jagz enough time to be sure this was the right move. Good Job Raheem. Way to see the Big Picture.

I also give Raheem credit for being decisive. I like a boss that writes a quick check. Sends a good message to the rest of the team and staff. If you can’t hack it, pack it.
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
BigMac, I also give credit to Raheem for hiring Jags when Olsen was right there on the staff already standing next to him, lol.
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
it WASN’T about the QB. You don’t fire someone for disagreement on personnel. Totally BS.
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Jags was in over his head – plain & simple that’s what it was.

When Joe Henderson of the Tampa Tribune asked Raheem the Dream if he feared this move would send a message that the team is embroiled in chaos, Raheem the Dream openly scoffed.
Joe – ASk this question again after week 7 – HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:07 pm
If Jags was over his head, what does that say about the 2 guys that hired him?
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:09 pm
Think this team deserves any more season tickets sold? Not me.
At least with Gruden/Allen they had a plan, and were competitive.
Bucaneers get ready to take it full on broadside. The ship is going down. Too bad for the fans who like good football.
Not that the owners care, Bucs were valued at over a Billion US $ by Forbes.
September 3rd, 2009 at 5:20 pm
“good football”! Are you serious!
A top tier defense okay, BUT GOOD FOOTBALL! Gimme a break!
I was tired of watching a good aging defense get the job done while a sputtering offense kicked field goals…FOR 6 YEARS!!!
Yup, its official you are an idiot know nothing football fan!
September 3rd, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Hey! It’s the new direction everyone wanted. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. Something wasn’t right when Mike Clayton became the spokesman for the team and one of it’s highest paid players as a blocking wide receiver. The Glazers are pinching the heads off of their pennys. Maybe we can have a parade for them for being the richest owners in the world.

I think Raheem the Bad Dream is going to follow in the footsteps of Pete Carroll–a year or two to prove he doesn’t have what it takes to be a head coach in the NFL, and then will move down to college level where his style and personality will fit in with college-age kids. Just wish he wouldn’t leave us with this steaming pile of shit for the next guy to work with though! This guy has had one year as a coordinator, and his defense was the second worst in the Big 12??? Yep, this guy’s a WINNER!!!
