Bucs Preferred To Demote Jagodzinski

Was Jeff Jagodzinski demoted, and later fired, because he wanted Luke McCown as the Bucs starting quarterback?
A JoeBucsFan.com reader, “Charkh,” posted this information in a comment and Joe found it on Buccaneers.com in an “updated” article about the Bucs firing of offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski.
Seems as though the Bucs wanted to keep him, but wanted to demote him to quarterback coach. Joe can’t imagine Jeff Kamis allowing an inaccurate quote to be published on the Bucs’ own website.
“I was given the chance to remain on staff as the quarterbacks coach, but felt that the timing for such a move was not in the best interest for either side.”
This is very interesting. Joe can only guess there was some major friction behind closed doors if you are going to demote your offensive coordinator before the season kicks off.

Hopefully we get some answers to these questions at noon. I doubt we’ll get anything substantial, though, much like when they cut Brooks.

Unless its totally personality how could it not be about the QB’s.
The HC wanted Lefty from the start and maybe Jags didn’t think even he could make Lefty a decent QB?
Who knows, really who cares now, now we have a former unsuccessful OC from the rams. Yuck!
This new regime seems to be starting out on the wrong foot…in retrospect bringing Lefty in seems like a really terrible choice.

After careful review, after hearing the Raheem press conference, These guys are idiots. Yes, we found out who the “Yes” men are. Can’t wait ’til next season when we get a real coach.

@SgtMike We’re not going to get a new coach next year, sorry to say. They are going to give Raheem at least two years.
After listening to the press conference, I have to say I don’t think Raheem is a very coherent individual when put on the spot. That said, two things stuck out to me: “Precision and Direction” and “This is my team.” This comes off to me as Jags wanted to do too much and argued to much with Raheem. Maybe he was willing to let it go until KC tried to take away Freeman’s Mentor. Remember, firing all the veterans and drafting Freeman pretty much tied Raheem’s career to Freeman. If Freeman is developing a bond with Olson, you can’t let that get away.

I’m not sure if he’ll make it two seasons. Not if the fans kick the heat up a notch on the Glazers by not buying tickets. Then if a couple of the big name coaches are available with the heat on high. They would be crazy not to snatch up a Cowher or Shanahan while they are still available. They have two seasons if they better 6-7 wins. That two years dwindles with heat and less wins.
