NFL.com expecting Bucs to dish out presents to fans soon.
Bucs fans have a right to be bitter if not frustrated. Why, there are actually local teenagers on the threshold of high school who have never seen a Bucs playoff win. Think about it.
The Bucs last won a playoff game when Chucky hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy aloft in victory on a chilly January night in 2003. That’s over 13 years ago people!
For those same adolescents, talking about a Bucs playoff win is like talking about the Cuban Missle Crisis. Just something to read about in a history book.
Sooner or later, things have to turn around, don’t they?
Well, to listening to NFL.com analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, the answer is yes, and those winning seasons may just be around the corner.
The duo decided to pick a team out of a pool of 12 that should be among the NFL’s best in the next five years. Jeremiah believes at the “back end” of that window, the Bucs will be elite.
While the Bucs were not the first choice of Brooks, he didn’t argue with Jeremiah and believes the Bucs right now have the pieces in place for a foundation to build a lasting winner.
“I think they have a chance to be special,” Brooks said of the Bucs. “I’m in love with the quarterback. I think the quarterback is a real dude. I think he is going to lead them to the winner’s circle.”
You can watch the Bucs segment via the link above at the 3:44 mark. The funny part is Jeremiah (a former scout for the Ravens) praising left tackle Donovan Smith as a rising stud — and Joe imagining all the stat geeks who hate Smith so much shoving their heads in a trash can to vomit.
One depressing element of the breakdown is stud linebacker Lavonte David has yet to experience a winning season after four NFL campaigns. That’s really sad.
Other than that, the video clip is a nice thing to watch to start your Thursday morning.

I sure hope this is the beginning of having a decent team. I had season tickets for a few years and every single week we left the stadium to the jeers of the opposing team. I think during the span that I had tickets we won one home game. Each week, after spending hundreds of dollars on tickets and concessions, best anger management skills were required just to get back to the car, as the away team partied at Tampa’s expense. I couldn’t hep but think, how I could have better used the couple grand that I waisted. We now have a franchise QB and a NFL caliber coaching staff with a history of winning. Hopefully we will truely turn things around this time and we will get to win a few more games.

The bucs were credited with 25 drops last season. An official drop is also very conservative and gives the WR the benefit of the doubt. So this number could be a bit low. However, if you give JW those 25 drops back, he completes 337 of 535 passes for a completion rate of 63% which would “look” a lot better for the STAT GUYS. Anyone watching knows it was on the WR and not on QB. ME!# had about 8 drops against Houston alone!!

Checked out Daniel Jeremiah’s mock draft on Joe’s morning roundup.
In mid January he had us taking Apple the OSU CB.
Now he has us taking Vernon Hargreaves. Seems like they’re sure we’re going to take a CB because they have Spence going to the Giants right after we take Hargreaves.
That’s interesting. Wonder what JBF posters think? Do you want Hargreaves or Spence if both are still on the board.
BTW Walter Football has us taking Spence they believe our need at DE outweighs our need at DE.

The only reason we would elect to take a corner in the first is because the draft is said to be very deep with DE’s in the mid rounds so u grab the BPA with the ninth pick (VH3) and possibly get a starter @ DE in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. We need to sign a DE in FA and draft one at the least, maybe two. We need to come out of the off season with two new starter on the edges. The guys we have now are more rotational guys. J. Smith on third downs and W. Gholston on 1st and 2nd downs. I’m excited to see what coach Hayes can do with gholston. ~☆GO BUCS☆~

I mean we were told after the superbowl our Bucs were..Dynasty building right? Gruden even said our future was so bright, he had to wear shades!
I’ll believe this Bright future whan I see it fellow Buc fans. After years of disappointment, I’m gonna just watch to see what kind of product we put on the field this upcoming season. I’m not gonna wish, hope or pray. I’m just gonna watch thru neutral eyes. You see, I’ve had my hopes up so high in the past? They are now Numb. The future’s not our to see..Kay ser rah..Ser-rah.

I thought we had a chance to be elite with Freeman. Then schiano destroyed that hope. Anyways, the future has never been brighter in Tampa, we have a QB, we have an offensive head coach. Things are definitely heading in the right direction.
