2016 Preseason Games Won’t Leave Tampa

Upgrades to the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway will not drive the Buccaneers’ preseason out of town, as was originally planned.
Joe has learned the Bucs made the necessary adjustments to accelerate construction without disrupting planned summer events at the stadium. It is expected that the Bucs will host Weeks 3 and 4 of the preseason.
Joe sure hopes the Bucs find a way to reward fans with a quality Week 3 opponent, considering Week 4 is usually a game reserved for future beer truck drivers, luggage handlers and rental car agents.

Shame! Would have gladly given up BOTH games. Tired of paying full price to see practices.

I feel ya bro. It’s one of the biggest ripoffs in sports. Perhaps a better way to look at it for season ticket holders is to simply take those two games prices and spread them over the 8 REAL games to see how much you’re actually paying to see a REAL game.

Now hold on, I don’t think week four preseason players would be beer truck drivers or rental car agents. They DID just graduate from college……hmmm, actually you might be right. Well, anyways, good news on the stadium.

Still think they should add awnings like they are at the Dolphins stadium. Imagine September games that felt 10-15 degrees cooler. Would draw out a LOT more people.

Agree that the intense summer sun is a problem especially for older fans. It’s like a grade A heatstroke with intense headaches. It is brutal. Young people not so much. I doubt there is a hotter venue, including Miami.

And? Do you not use AC at your house and in your car? You could be saving money not using it. I will take paying for an awning over the 4 corner video boards any day.

PReseason don’t count. Hell, they could lose all of those games..nobody cares. Just finish at least 500 next year. The way this new coaching regime is being hyped, You’d think we could go..16-0.

Well I guess I am way wrong. I posted in the previous thread that we were not having pre-season games so ticket prices were close to a wash:( looks like mine might be $500 more? Out of town so I guess I will have to see when I get home. No I do not want to look online.
I also renewed on 12 month plan again but I’m thinking that does not probably matter.

Renewing on the 12 month plan does not lock in the rate. They stated previously that ticket price increases will factor into the later payments.

Couldn’t disagree more. Preseason is great for evaluating players on the fringe. Are those games as competitive as the regular season? Obviously not, but at least they give you a sense for what a player can do in a situation that isn’t a team practice. There’s a difference. You take away the preseason and you destroy the dreams of those “scrubs” who try to make the team each year. I’m not sure I want to be so judgmental. And plus, they help getting the rhythm back and the feel for the game. Not to mention getting back into a certain professional mindset.

i was very much looking forward to not having those 2 games on my season ticket tab.
