“All That Anyone Gives A Sh*t In This League About Is Ws”
December 30th, 2015Joe got passionate Bucs offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter all fired up weeks ago with an analytics question. Koetter unloaded on the stat geeks and his rant went national.
Today, Koetter was asked more stats-related questions, and they seemed to wear him down.
It’s safe to say the man running the NFL’s No. 7-ranked offense, the Bucs’ offense, doesn’t care much about data.
“Numbers are nice. Numbers look good on those pieces of paper we talk about. But all that anyone gives a sh*t in this league about is Ws,” Koetter said. “Alright, you gotta win games.
“I’m sorry. Excuse my language. I’m just thinking I’m among friends. I forget that it’s going worldwide. C’mon, gimme a break. This is hitting Pocatello, Idaho, man. This is my hometown. My mom doesn’t even know I know that word.”
The Bucs aren’t winning, but at least Koetter is entertaining. And his offense is, too. A famous Buccaneer used to say all the time that he and his players were “entertainers.” There is something to that, though nothing replaces winning.
Even winning would cover up the ugliness of Lovie Smith’s pass defense. Just find a way to win and it’s all ok.

Love the fire in Koetter

Well..He’s summed it up nicely as did Vince Lombardi. Winning is all that matters. Hard schedule/difficult schedule next yr? Nobody wants to hear it. Just win by any means necessary. And If Lovie does not? He’ll be gone after 2016. Its that simple. Man..I’d hate to be on that hot seat. I do wish Lovie Smith Luck though. Because I like the man. But likes got nothing to do with production and winning. You either Do or ya Don’t.

Koetter sounded like a polite Bill Belechek (sp) there. I wish he’d stop that. It might lure an offer from a team.
December 30th, 2015 at 3:47 pm
Now that is NOT typical coach-speak! Ya gotta love it, man.
December 30th, 2015 at 3:59 pm
Koetter really gets it. He’d make for a fine HC, I’m sure. Hint, hint.
December 30th, 2015 at 4:00 pm
Koetter for Buccaneer’s HC 2016!
December 30th, 2015 at 4:03 pm
It’s a refreshing break from the nothing answers and condescending talk that we get right now from Lovie.
December 30th, 2015 at 4:04 pm
Doesn’t Lovie have a no cursing rule?
December 30th, 2015 at 4:20 pm
If anyone tries to hire dirk as there head coach the bucs have to fire lovie and promote him
December 30th, 2015 at 4:31 pm
All I can say to that is crap happens. Go Koetter!
December 30th, 2015 at 5:31 pm
Koetter for HC.

Good news for Bucs fans! OC Dirk Koetter is not among 16 names included on Albert Breer’s look at the candidates at the top of the 2016 NFL coaching market.

Macabee,
You can bet he is on someone’s radar. I wouldn’t consider him safe.
December 30th, 2015 at 6:21 pm
I would love to see an un named pe by the players who they look more to for guidance ….koetter or lovie. My money would be on koetter. ALL OF IT!!!

““All That Anyone Gives A Sh*t In This League About Is W’s”
#Respect
Remember what he said now – ““All That Anyone Gives A Sh*t In This League About Is Ws”.
So don’t get all bent out of shape, if team drafts or signs a player with a checkered past.
It’s about W’s baby – Neva 4 Get It !!!
December 30th, 2015 at 7:09 pm
Sounds like he feels Lovie is holding him back from Ws.

@Joe … “Even winning would cover up the ugliness of Lovie Smith’s pass defense.”
Can’t remember any teams winning the Super Bowl Joe with a pass defense as bad as this one. Or playoff games. Or the division. Until it’s fixed, we’ll be stuck at the bottom of the NFC South.
December 30th, 2015 at 8:55 pm
If he ends the season with a top 10 offense that we can probably say is the best offensive coordinator in Bucs history. No other modern coach ever had three.
December 30th, 2015 at 8:58 pm
I like this guy more all the time. He’s the Donald Trump of the Bucs
December 30th, 2015 at 9:37 pm
The more this guy talks the more I like him, basically the opposite of what happens when Lovie talks.
December 30th, 2015 at 10:27 pm
If they did make Koetter head coach he should bring someone like wade Phillips in to coach the d and won’t be going anywhere again
December 31st, 2015 at 9:06 am
Anthony Becht just recommended Dirk as a head coach to 97.5 in Philly….

The original “Kevin” Says
“I would love to see an un named pe by the players who they look more to for guidance ….koetter or lovie.”
So…something made up?
