Luke McCown Speaks
August 22nd, 2009A class act 24-7, Luke McCown passed on an opportunity to name himself the Bucs starting quarterback after his strong performance on Saturday night.
Interviewed by Dan Lucas, of WFLA-TV, McCown was asked about winning the starting QB job. He praised his teammates and hoped his work ethic would be taken into consideration by those picking the No. 1 quarterback.
“I was a product of some good fortune tonight,” McCown said, referring to good starting field position on his two scoring drives. “I hope [the coaches] see the work that I put in” on a daily basis.
On being asked about his approach and the Bucs approach to the position this year, McCown said no matter who is named starting quarterback the loser’s job is to turn his focus to helping the team in any possible way. “You have to have two guys that are effecient and effective.”
Joe’s just hoping Raheem The Dream waits one more game to make his decision.
