GMC: Lavonte David being ripped off.
Once upon a time two years ago, Darrelle Revis stood before Joe and a few other local media members and declared the Pro Bowl would be “rigged” if Lavonte David didn’t make it.
David didn’t make it that year, nor has he ever.
Today, Gerald McCoy, who was named to his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl last night, unloaded on a system that excluded
“I gotta speak up about something. I think it’s kind of, it ain’t kind of, it’s terrible what’s happened to Lavonte right now. He’s easily the best at what he does. He’s had a million tackles, three picks, one for a touchdown, forced fumbles, two sacks, I mean he’s been the most dominant at his position, probably since 2013. And it’s got to stop, man. It’s very unfair what’s happening to him. Seriously, if I could trade places with him, I would. He more than deserves to be in the Pro Bowl. … I think he got played.”
So there you have it. David got screwed. He’s only an alternate.
McCoy said he plans to play in the Pro Bowl, despite nursing a healing/torn rotator cuff. McCoy said he didn’t know if offseason surgery was in his plans.

If he has a torn rotator cuff, I admire him trying to playing through a tough injury. If he doesn’t get the surgery and go into IR now, so that he can play in the Pro Bowl.
He better have double digit sacks next season and have 0 shoulder issues.

As standard of being regarded the BEST of the BEST.
Being selected to the ALL-PRO team is the gold standard.
Pro Bowl Selection has been a joke for over two or three decades now.
Every year guys are looked over for another players PAST acheivements.

Luvmybucs knows where it’s at. LVD gets the love for the All-Pro team which is way more meaningful than something chosen by the fans.

Not only do think GMC shouldn’t play in the pro bowl because of his injury, I don’t think he should play the last two games either. The team should shut him down. This season is over, but his being healthy and rehabed could really help next season when we may really make a run at the playoffs.

Absolutely destro44. I do not want to see another snap from him this season, he fought through injuries to play in meaningful games which we all appreciate. And now appreciate him thinking of the future and not trying to prove something in a nothing situation.

GMC represents a $100 million investment for the Bucs. Trade him and they’ll eat a large part of that. Keep him and Bucs need Gerald playing at 100% if they’re going to compete for anything.
GMC has no business playing these last 2 games or in the Pro Bowl. Have had torn rotator cuff surgery and it takes awhile to bounce back from. GMC needs to get that done ASAP so he can be ready for 2016 OTAs. For the kind of money that he makes, the decision’s not really his to make … unless he’s willing to forfeit his contract.

There is not one team who would take on GMC’s contract in a trade. That talk is delusional. Put a veteran DE on one side, a rookie first round DE on the other, a rookie 3rd round pick at DT and watch him produce. If not for the injury GMC is still a dominate DT and he will be one key to this defenses transition next year. Get rid of Bradley McDougald, George Johnson, Bruce Carter, Mike Jenkins, Alterraun Verner and Tony McDaniel. That alone will free up 14M in cap space. Put it on top of the 49M under the cap in 2016 an we have 63M. Time to go shopping!

Get rid of mccdougald?
Why drop our best safety? That would be idiotic. We could certainly use an upgrade, but even if we do that we should keep him for depth. Idk what his contract situation is, but I can’t think he is making a whole lot.
