Buccaneers 23, Falcons 19

December 6th, 2015

Jameis

How bout those Dropaneers!

Not even absent Gerald McCoy and costly butter hands by Mike Evans, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Doug Martin can slow the Buccaneers’ revival under America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

The Bucs were far, far from perfect today, but they played a complete game, enough to move into second place in the NFC South and even their record at 6-6. It’s the most relevant Tampa Bay has been since their 6-6 mark in 2012.

That’s right, your Bucs are in second place, playing .500 ball and enjoying a sweep of the Falcons.

Lovieball was in its truest form this afternoon. Doug Martin was pounded out of the gate — and often — with Charles Sims complementing him well. The pair took 32 handoffs for 151 yards.

And, as predicted, Matt Ryan carved the Bucs up and down the field with little resistance. The Bucs’ pass rush did what it does best: disappear. Ryan finished 30-for-45 for 269 yards and a touchdown.

But it didn’t matter because your quarterback, America’s Quarterback, turned in one of the greatest displays of will ever seen by a Bucs quarterback. His fourth-quarter run on third down rivaled anything ever turned in by the legendary A-Train himself, Mike Alstott.

And Lavonte David iced the delicious cake with a pick when the Bucs needed it most!

Savor it, Bucs fans.

    Jameis = hope
    Lovie = dope

Very excited to see Jameis fully unleashed with a real, offensive NFL head coach. A better coach would already have us in the playoffs. Now just the countdown to the end of Lovie. Can’t wait.

Anyone buying into my prediction of 4 straight yet?

best of all, we now begin a month of the trolls hiding.

  3. lurker Says:

    amen jameis, amen!

  4. Jeagan1999 Says:

We Win! 6-6 feels pretty damn good right now!

  5. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Delicious cake indeed JOE!!! I’ll have another slice next week please.

  6. KJ Says:

PRAISE BE TO JAMEIS CHRIST. THE FRANCHISE SAVIOR!

  7. Walter Says:

    GO JAMEIS!!!! GO BUCS!!!!!

    Lovie’s seat getting pretty icy

  8. WalkdaPlank Says:

Jameis makes the Bucs better. I doubted at first but you simply cannot deny it!

  9. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @Lovie Is Dog Poo

At the start of the season, what did you say Lovie needed to do to impress you?

He’s now won his 6th game of the year, what many said should be the milestone.

Would be interesting to see a poll every week now.

  10. cmurda Says:

All of what you said is true Joe but we have Famous Jameis Winston. I win.

  11. lurker Says:

    @lovie is…

i am no lovie lover, and think he still needs to do/show more, but winston started rough, too. though one is a rookie and the other a veteran coach.

  12. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Buc Bonzai

I was with you all along. Now I have to hope somebody beats Carolina so they rest their starters in the final game…then my 10 win prediction still lives.

best of all, we now begin a month of the trolls hiding.

Not really. Look at sheet for brains Lovie is dog poo…as if we respect his lameasss opinion over the people who work in the league.

    Bite us dog poo.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

Jameis standing on the Bucs bench firing up the crowd is all you need to know.

My prediction still stands. Prediction : Jameis Winston will win a Super Bowl within 3 years of entering the NFL. Said that in 2013 long before he became a Buc.

  14. Buccfan37 Says:

Funny how fast ornery can flip to elation.

  15. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

Lovie is being carried by Jameis. Jameis can win 8 games with a coach even as poor as Lovie. Wait till he gets a real NFL coach who isn’t living in the past. It’s a holding period with Lovie, its the next coach who takes us to greatness with Jameis Christ.

  16. Elle Says:

The most amazing thing about this team is the outstanding ability to overcome adversity, be it in the form of penalties, turnovers, dropped passes and whatnot. None of this would be possible without a 100% bona fide franchise quarterback. The elusive search is over.

  17. Buc1987 Says:

The future is bright in Tampa.

  18. Couch Fan Says:

That was an impressive Victory. I cant even bash Lovie this week. Jameis played out of his mind and the defense looked competent for once and actually made a big stop when we needed it most. GO BUCS!!!

  19. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Dpg Poo

Belicheat was a LOSING coach until Brady arrived. That’s how the league work moron!!! ALL coaches need a franchise QB…and Rex Grossman was hardly a franchise QB…especially up against Peyton in the SB

    87
The only argument I have against your prediction is I no longer believe it’s going to take three years…unless perhaps you count this as year one…

I think we’ll make the playoffs next year but we may need one more year of growth and drafts to hit the big game.

  20. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

Look I love Jamies. He’s the franchise. But Lovie will cost us the playoffs this year and will cost us 3-4 games a season with his coaching. It’s nothing personal, it’s his long history. Jameis bailed Lovie out yet again today, as he did in New Orleans and Dallas.

  21. StPeteBucsFan Says:

This win is TOTALLY on #3…although Lovie did make the adjustments at half.

It was #3 who literally willed this team to a victory today. That run will make EVERY highlight reel including the end of the year most impressive plays.

  22. Buccfan37 Says:

The Bucs threw Atlanta and their playoff chance into Tampa Bay.

  23. Bucamania Says:

Great win!! Jameis just refuses to lose, The kid is special.

  24. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @Lovie Is Dog Poo

In that case, Bellachek is being carried by Brady. Coughlin by Eli. ETC.

  25. mac Says:

Winston’s run for a first down in this game has to go down as one of the all time top five plays… Right up there with S. King’s scramble against the Rams… But not quite as high as Ronde Barber’s INT return in Philly during the NFC championship…

  26. MT Tom Says:

As my son in law said…”It was Jamazing”.

  27. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

We didn’t win today because of any coaching edge. Let’s not kid ourselves. Osweilier is winning because of coaching, Lovie is winning because of Jameis. I’m just looking forward to the next coach giving us a big edge there so we can dominate. I don’t want mediocrity which is all Lovie is.

  28. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Elle

    Agree with your post completely.

The most amazing thing about this team is the outstanding ability to overcome adversity,

I feel so sorry for #3. He’s the one who overcame drops penalites and willed this team to a win. Still I give it up to the defense today…they finally held when they needed to.

  29. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

As long as the head coach, OC and QB Coach remain stable, I can see a SB by Winston’s 3rd year.

Change any of those coaches and things will be set back.

  30. dreambig Says:

Bonzi – 10-6 sounds great to me! I belieeeve!

Go away Dog Poo, were victory dancin!

  31. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Dog Poo

Give it a freaking rest. Are you truly so dull that you do not realize with this win there is NO FREAKING WAY Lovie is not back next year?

Are you saying then we’re going to have to put up with your troll bs for the rest of this year and next. You’re going to wear out my scroll wheel dude.

  32. lurker Says:

“None of this would be possible without a 100% bona fide franchise quarterback. The elusive search is over.”

i agree. and jameis makes others around him better, and compensates for the weaknesses of others.

  33. Bucs Fan Since '76 Says:

Well played and well coached in all three phases. We have a good young team and a franchise QB. And our D played very well today. We crushed the run and contained the passing game. Missing our two best pass rushers and we still recorded three sacks. Guys, Lovie has done a good job. Time to admit it.

  34. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Lovie Is Dog Poo Says
“We didn’t win today because of any coaching edge. Let’s not kid ourselves.”

Um, sorry, but there were huge halftime adjustments…on defense. You know nothing. You just hate the man and want him gone, so you refuse to recognize the truth.

  35. Clint Says:

Awesome to have the conversation but the Seahawks have nothing but cupcakes downt hes stretch all automatic W’s. We are done.

  36. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @MT Tom

That is great!!! I think we should call all the sports radio shows…flood the blogs with that and hope it catches…I love it.

    JAMAZING FOR SURE!!!!

  37. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

Lovie’s coming back, I get it. And by the end of next year people will know the truth, though I’m sure they know it already

    Jameis = hope
    Lovie = dope

  38. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

Bonzai, they scored more points in the second half than in the first. Adjustments didn’t do much clearly.

  39. lurker Says:

lovie was let go from chicago for a reason. he is stubborn, poor clock management, rare adjustments, etc, same things bears fans said. he only beat up on teams under .500 in chicago, average against teams at .500, and sucked badly against teams over .500. he has not improved upon that since here. if he is the new dungy, it will take another coach to get us to the superbowl.

  40. Tiger team Says:

I liked Gruden but his drafts were terrible. Lovie has at the very least drafted a great qb.

  41. ptwalk Says:

Dog poo you want this team to lose so Lovie can get fired. You sir are a bigger disappointment than Lovie by far. These wins are killing you huh.

  42. orlbucfan Says:

Good lord, Lovie is Dog Poo is full of IT! Get lost, you loser. I called this game. They beat the Dixie Chicks in OT 23-20. Beat them again 23-19. GO FIGURE! I said it would come down to the offense having a great game, back the refs off, and Lavonte David and Kwon Alexander having big games. That’s what happened. Famous Jameis….when he scrambled for that first down, wow. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are building an all-star offense. We have never had anything like it! 8-8 for sure!! Go Mighty Bucs!!

  43. LUVMYBUCS Says:

I can’t stop looking at this run. Bleeping 3 & 19, on a two minute drive. This kid runs, seems to stop short. Has gonads, to keep his feet moving. Peels off the pile, scrambles for a 1st down. Freakin unreal.

    Wow!

  44. warrenfb12 Says:

Disagree. Ur boy McCoy left the lineup and Gholston showed up with 2 sacks. Ryan’s line is worse than last time we played him.

  45. martinii Says:

Let’s go sweep the saints. Jameis for rookie of the year, Lovie for best turn-around coach, pay Martin, and I guess we have to live with old- time Buc-Ball…..

  46. mac Says:

    @ tiger

If your giving Lovie credit for the recent drafts then you must also mention he has drafted two stellar offensive lineman, an all pro linebacker and Mike Evans…

A much better showing then previous regimes although Schiano’s drafts weren’t too bad either…

  47. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Major Shoutouts to everyone yelling & screaming at the stadium today-Big ups!

Glad to see the usual suspects holding down the board. Keeping everything positive

    St. Pete
    1987
    CMurda
    Lurker
    Bonzai
    Couch

    Major Win

    GO BUCS!!!

  48. LargoBuc Says:

Lovie and Jameis both get credit. The reverse is true when they loose. Quick name a succesful coach who hasnt been caried by a qb or defense. Exactly. It all works in sync. A bafoon like Schiano would have no clue what to do with a guy like Jameis. It takes alot to not only scout good players but manage all the ego’s and personalities that come with it. But Lovie costs his team games? Every coach short of Bill freaking Bellichick is going to cost their team games! A real coach will give us an edge? Who? Whixh coach out there will give us an “edge”? You canrt be serious. Step back and be happy Lovie was able to do whats needed to make us relevant again, after the Raheem/Schiano spitstorm! GO BUCS!

  49. Pickgrin Says:

This was a Big WIN!!! – regardless of how the last 4 games go – this was a HUGE moment in the development of our franchise QB. Jameis willed this team to win – he carried the Bucs to VICTORY vs the Falcons. It’s all about the WINS – and WINSton is a WINNER! Get used to it because this is the 1st of many times you will see Jameis carry, lead and will this team to victories.

    “My prediction still stands.”

Reality check – you predicted 5-11 for this year and wanted Lovie fired just a few weeks ago – just sayin….

  50. LUVMYBUCS Says:

MadMaxx whats good brotha? Insane freakin’ win

  51. LargoBuc Says:

And to all the Dan Quinn sheep, he cant out coach “loser Lovie” hahaha get a grip.

  52. BUCutalkinbout Says:

    There’s a fan on Bucs nation that’s calling that 3rd n 19 , THE SCRAMBLE
    i love it

  53. DraftJameis Says:

Bucs are going to have to win out and hope that Seattle trips up against the Rams at home or @Arizona week 17 when the Cardinals are resting everyone. Gonna be a fun final month.

  54. BUCutalkinbout Says:

10-6 i stand by it. Damn you trolls. L&L have put together a young team that’s beginning to truly believe they can win. #3 is the leader. Gave of the franchise though…#58 n #54 might have something to say about that. Great problem to have as a BUCS fan!

  55. BUCutalkinbout Says:

    ^^^face of the franchise…

  56. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Big time players make big time plays and leaders lead. We have one in the same.

As much as I like him during plays, I like him just as much when he’s talking to the guys, getting them in position, and audibling. Oh, and showing the crowd when to be quiet, AND WHEN TO CHEER.

Now would be a good time to admit if you thought he couldn’t run.

  57. lurker Says:

running and scrambling. glennon couldn’t have made that play.

  58. chris Says:

I was a Mariotta supporter, I still like him. But damn I love the kids winning demeanor. That run…..wow! And I will give credit to Lovie on bringing the pressure on Ryan. Looks like Lavonte is out of whatever funk he was in….feels good to be a Buc fan….my wife is a Browns fan….I feel her pain.

  59. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

8-7-1…what the hell, I’ll stand by my opening season prediction too! I’ll be perfectly happy to see the Bucs do even bettrer than that, though I think 10-6 might be a tad optimistic. Great to hope though

  60. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Glad to see there are still a few haters trying their hardest to keep the hate. It’s becoming more and more comical with each and every win.

  61. Dave Says:

What exactly does Lovie have to do for youngsters to realize he is s good coach?
He has them at 6-6 and relevant.
He had the defense playing pretty damn good with no DEs and no CBs.
He brought in an OC and rookie QB and have let them flourish.
He has a proven track record and a fantastic win % in his history except for the first seasons with the Bears and Bucs as he was rebuilding.

I don’t get it. What exactly do you want? A coach with more emotion in front of the camera? Why? Since when does that matter one bit?

How about you try to just quit bitching for once in your lives about everything and enjoy the ride?
Maybe if you do you’ll realize that he is one offseason away from having built a perennial 10+ win team that’ll be relevant and playoff bound for the next decade.
