Tallahassee For Preseason Games?
December 3rd, 2015Yes, your beloved Buccaneers are currently homeless for the 2016 and 2017 preseason.
That might have been the biggest news from yesterday’s announcement of massive improvements coming to Raymond James Stadium.
Joe can’t stop thinking about where the Bucs will go. And will season ticket holders be off the hook for those preseason games?
Joe would wager that at least one game per year will be played at the fabulously renovated Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
But the other games might just go to the highest bidder. Mexico City? Europe? Toronto? Birmingham? Tallahassee?
Yes, Tallahassee. There are loads of Bucs fans there. Bucs games are even broadcast on live radio. And what a popular homecoming that would be for America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, stepping back onto the field of Doak Campbell Stadium. Joe has no doubt the stadium would be nearly full.
The Bucs might even garner some good will, generating revenue for a state university.

They should go citrus bowl and swamp one year and citrus bowl and doak the other. They should also make sure none of these four games are the 4th preseason game!

I hope I got credit for the idea…I’m really dying to hear the Joe’s mention “CreamsicleBananaHammock” on one of the radio shows

You’re not allowed to meet us, everything is top secret.

I’m sure the Glazers would insist on fleecing FSU for the privilege of hosting NFL Preseason games there. They make millions off of USF Football and every other third-party event or concert hosted at Raymond James.

Speaking for many season ticket holders…If I don’t have to pay for a glorified practice… I am thrilled. Tallahassee and Orlando sound like a great idea. I’m thinking Gainesville may not give him the warmest reception 🙂

I know I’ll be there if they play at Doak!

I think it would be great if the NFL would do more neutral site preseason games. I went to a couple Bucs games in the Citrus Bowl in the 90s. Of course owners and stadium commissions wouldn’t like that though.

Play them at the TROP. What a home field.advantage that would be. Busted knees galore.
