“Jack” Is Back
November 22nd, 2015Defensive end Jacquies Smith won’t be playing in a Pro Bowl anytime soon, but he’s a darn good football player.
Hell, the guy has 12 sacks in just fifteen career starts for your Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Smith’s return to action today was a legitimate presence to be felt.
In what might have been the worst call by replay officials in the history of the NFL, Smith’s first-drive fumble recovery was botched by the refs. He picked up a fumble deep in Eagles’ territory, ran with the ball, was tackled, and then the ball clearly popped out long after his knee was down. But it was ruled a fumble and the Eagles got the ball back.
Officially, Smith had half a sack today, giving him 5 1/2 on the season. But Joe suspects further review will give Smith another half sack when the league stats guys look at the film. Gerald McCoy was credited for a full sack on one play when it should have been split with Smith.
Regardless, after missing two games with an ankle injury, Smith was a factor this afternoon. And what a tough game to make a return, against the fast-paced, up-tempo Eagles offense.
Smith told Joe after the game that he was fully ready to play and he was just happy to have the team win, though he was bitter about leaving “a couple of sacks” on the field.
Perhaps those come next week in Indianapolis? With six games to play, Smith needs 4 1/2 to hit the magical 10-sack mark. Not bad for a guy general manager Jason Licht plucked off the street in September 2014.

Smith displays a great deal of speed and put some pressure on Sanchez today.
We will need him and more to make up for Kwon’s 4 game suspension….

The great teams are loaded with these diamonds in the rough. I’m starting to believe Jason Licht learned much working for Belichick, and has a genuine eye for talent. 4-2 the rest of the way is doable and how great would a 9-7 record look like especially after last season?

Man if this team can just hang on and figure out a way to win a few games in the next few weeks we will be truly dangerous.
We could be one of those wild card teams that NOBODY wants to play. #3 is not shooting to simply be a “franchise QB”…he has his sights set higher and who thinks he’s not going to reach them.
Jack Smith back…if Carter can hang on for us in the middle for four weeks…if Brate and Humphries continue to grow…the OL gaining depth as Ali and Demar regain their health…VJAX getting healthier…ME finally hanging on to the ball…
And two CB’s who have emerged. This team could be a tough win for other squads this year. Now imagine what happens if we have a draft on defense next year like we had on offense this year!!!

It’s feels so good being on the other side of a blow out. I’m laughing hard at my buddies who are eagles fans and are coming up with every excuse in the world. All I say to them is there is no excuse. Your team sucked today now eat it lol. Go BUCS!

I remember the Eagles beating us in several Dungy-led playoff games…..we won the NFC Championship….there last game in Veterans stadium and then the very next year beat them in their first game in their new stadium..
Now we went up there and just plain whipped their a$$!!!
It feels really good to be a Buc fan tonight….

Terrible call he had 2 knees and an elbow down on that fumble. That call allowed them to eventually get a TD. The old Bucs would have laid down and quit at that point.

Had the refs called it right….the score might have been even uglier. Think about that.

StPeteBucsFan…not to get too carried away. lol BUT Jameis did say right after or before the draft that he expects to win the SB this season…I’m pretty sure that won’t happen, but I believe Jameis thinks that way.
This is the QB we have now. Soak it up and enjoy.
