Report: Vincent Jackson Will Play Today
November 22nd, 2015Either Vincent Jackson is way ahead of schedule from his knee ligament injury or the Bucs are engaging in serious gamesmanship with the Eagles, today’s opponent — or both.
Per Adam Schefter of BSPN, Jackson will be activated today, his first time in pads since getting his knee drilled in Washington exactly four weeks ago.
Jackson had limited practice sessions at One Buc Palace last last week.
Of course, the Bucs desperately need at least the threat of Jackson on the field. His mere presence, in place of undrafted rookie Donteea Dye and/or Adam Humphries, makes the Bucs offense more dangerous and unpredictable.
If V-Jax plays, will the Bucs target him much? Will he be more of a decoy? Do the Bucs dare send him over the middle again so soon?
Those will be the big questions of the day.
Joe likes the feel. The Bucs are 4-5, facing a 4-5 conference opponent in hostile Philadelphia. This very much is a playoff game, or as close to one as the Bucs have had in a long, long time. All hands on deck.
As Joe has reported previously, V-Jax has no money guaranteed in his contract, even for injury, for the 2016 season. The Bucs have no big concern here when it comes to a possible long term injury.

ASJ still a no-show

ASJ IS A WASTE OF BREATH ON THIS TEAM!!!!!! I was so excited to see we picked him up until I found out he is as fragile as an 80 year old woman with osteoporosis. What’s next he falls down and breaks his hip. Smh. What a disappointment. VJAX has heart and cares about this team. He’s not even 100 percent ans he’s suiting up. Now VJAX is the example of what a buc should be.

VJax deserves a ring!!

If I had no money guaranteed….I would not risk my last years of my career. Us him as a red zone decoy and on third downs. I wanna see Humphries ball out today. Winston just has to make sure he’s not throwing it behind his receivers today. PUT A LIL PEPPER ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

ASJ can’t play until they clear him medically to play. They haven’t done that yet. This is a business folks, you don’t invest money in someone and then risk them getting injured to the point where you lose a career. When the medical staff clears him he’ll be back. Yes, it’s frustrating to see a good player sitting on the sidelines but I’d rather they wait and bring him back when he’s ready and not when a bunch of fans who would cry like babies at the first sign of contact say he should be back. This is a violent sport and you don’t come back unless your injury has healed to the point where contact isn’t going to risk reinjury. Some of the comments on her are mind numbingly stupid. I would agree that her seems injury prone but that doesn’t mean it’s his fault that he’s not playing. A player doesn’t make those decisions.

This should help.
I hope we can get Martin going today. Need to pound the Rock and keep Philly off the field.

Kwon is an idiot. 4 game suspension for PED over the counter supplement.

Anyone see someone put a Mike Alstott jersey on the rocky statue in Philly last night….NICE!

V Jackson is smart with all that experience. He will find the open spot for the catch and contribute today. Go Bucs! It is a playoff game.

@ Bobby
That was an excellent post!!! One of the rare thoughtful takes on ASJ.
I pointed out that Gronk was also injured losing almost two full years. Somebody was insulted that I dared to compare ASJ to Gronk. I’m not comparing their talent!!! I’m simply comparing two big body TE’s and their injury history.
My only upset with the ASJ situation is the Bucs medical/training staff. If he was hurt that seriously why didn’t we IR him and free up roster space? After last year when they lead us to believe Carl Nicks could play I’ve lost confidence in our medical staff. But I’m not at One Buc so perhaps there’s an explanation.

Anyone ever have a shoulder injury knows its hard to get it right again… Unlike a leg injury that you can work with because your legs are naturally more durable… A shoulder is a funky injury to deal with… The only real stress it gets is when you intentionally stress it… And when you run it hurts which makes it that more painful to use… Bottom line… He prolly feels good but it ain’t healed up yet… You don’t IR him because he is an x factor come the playoffs 😉
