Pitiful Streak
November 21st, 2015Not sure how many Bucs fans noticed, but during that ungodly boring Titans-Jags game Thursday — (apparently it had an interesting ending but was so bad early Joe bailed before halftime) — the broadcast revealed the teams with the longest streaks in the NFL without back-to-back wins.
The Bucs had the longest streak at 31 games. However, per Pro-Football-Reference.com, that number for the Bucs stands at 30.
Still, that is a terrible streak and shows just how bad this franchise has fallen off the map. Not since the Bucs under then-commander Greg Schoano ended November 2013 with a three-game winning streak (Miami and Atlanta at home, Detroit on the road) have the Bucs won consecutive games. That’s pitiful.
Yes, the Bucs are on the outskirts of a playoff push. But unless they snap this ugly streak and win a game in Philly tomorrow, you can pretty much kiss any hope goodbye.

Loser Lovie’s futility knows no bounds
November 21st, 2015 at 10:38 am
Tony what do you have against Lovie? You really dont see the improvement on this team compared to 2013 and 2014? You cant just categorize certain aspects of those improvements ie Jameis, the offense etc because Lovie does have final say over the final 53 and so many people like you and even myself used that against Lovie last year in regards to the overall futility of this tteam. Now this year, there have been improvements, yet its because of Dirk and Licht…uh uh. Dosent wirk that way. 100% if blame has to translate to 100% credit even if both are a little unfair.
Or perhaps you dont see any improvement? If so then that must be really sad.

I do see improvement in some areas, then regression in other areas. So it’s almost a wash. At 6-19 he’s a loser, get to a .500 record or over with the Bucs and he’s no longer a losing coach and overlord of football ops.

A team that can’t seem to string two wins in a row together is not very steady. Sunday’s game can knock that monkey off the Bucs back. Progress had been gradual, that’s positive. Go Bucs!!
November 21st, 2015 at 12:05 pm
I’ve seen Lovie win multiple games in a row as a head coach but what I haven’t seen is a lot of the players on this do it. If there’s any doubt in my mind it’s not with the coaching staff. I think the team is headed in the right direction but still missing some key pieces.

Tomorrow’s game is huuuuggggee Tampa. Can’t wait to watch it.
But in the meantime there is a game on today that should be incredibly interesting. The annual Ohio State – Michigan game. It’s OSU’s first game against a top ranked team since last year’s championship.
Lots of interesting subplots…are the Buckeyes for real or have they just been feasting on a joke of a schedule? How about the Wolverines? Has Harbaugh really been that incredibly successful in just one year? If he wins today he’s coach of the year in my book. Yeah he got lucky beating MSU on that miracle at the end of the game but his loss was also bad luck so that balances out.
But for Buc fans the most interesting subplot is focusing on Joey Bosa. It’s a huuuugge game and in the big games big time players step up. I like Bosa but when I’ve watched him this year he hasn’t really wowed me. I don’t see him as a top five pick but all the mock drafts have him going in the top three. Maybe I’m wrong and so I want to watch him closely today.

A lot of people saying the defense has improved but they did the same thing last year. Until they play consistently I won’t thrust this D.

I just can’t watch Ohio St., but Go Wolverines! Anybody but OSU, the one in Ohio.

StPeteBucsFan… How about the local Bulls laying a beatdown on Cincinnati. What a win! You said your wife went to USF. There must be some Bulls glee in your house. A chance to go 8-4 by beating winless UCF after starting 1-3. This Bulls team has come together with a nice finish.
November 21st, 2015 at 1:11 pm
Ohio State plays Michigan STATE today. Michigan is currently playing Penn State right now. Needless to say, it should be a great game.
Also Michigan did NOT beat MSU, St.Pete, Harbaugh’s Wolverines are the one’s who choked.
November 21st, 2015 at 1:15 pm
In that case Go Spartans! In the Bulls-Cincinnati game the Bearcats came into the game ranked 4th nationally in total offense averaging 585.6 yards per game.

Thanks for the corrections. My bad. t

Yes congrats to the Bulls…Taggart has turned the corner with the program.
Bittersweet at my house however. Yes my wife is a USF grad but I went to UC.
Since we suck at football…with the exception of the Brian Kelly years…I’m happy for you guys. The Bearcats aren’t going anywhere.
Although I am a little embarrassed at what an incredible beatdown your Bulls put on us. We could have at least made it interesting!
I think the future is very bright for the Bulls. Taggart has local connections…lots of great talent in Florida…and he’s a great recruiter. This turnaround this season is just going to fuel his success.
Man college football can be funny. First Leavitt builds USF into a powerhouse while UCF sucks…then USF sucks and O’Leary builds UCF…now UCF sucks and it’s USF”s turn once again.
I think if Taggart can capitalize that USF will replace U Miami as the third team in Florida. Obviously nobody will ever replace UF and FSU.
November 21st, 2015 at 1:32 pm
Hey, those are some fighting words for fans of UM. They say the Hurricanes are kind of a low budget team, it’s hard to imagine them not recovering though. Their past rice to prominence was kind of sudden. I remember when they were on U of Tampa’s level before they became good. They do draw from a large pool of elite athletes down in Miami.
November 21st, 2015 at 2:09 pm
Forgot you were UC schooled St.Pete. Well, you’ve had a good run on winning the overwhelming majority of games against USF. As far as USF becoming the third best team in this state, I don’t know about that, I’d like it though. Florida is heavily recruited from all over the nation. Look at all the Florida players in some of the programs. The Bulls need to pull in some of these higher rated players to progress.

A major reason why this team has not got back to back wins in so long is because the coaching has been lousy. This team is routinely unprepared. Someone asked what do we have against Lovie and do we not see any improvement. The answer is 1 in the same. Lovie has not improved, not 1 single bit. And I doubt he will. If this team is to get better, it will be despite Lovie, not because of him.

Gators squeak over FAU, that must have Seminole fans upbeat. I feel bad for the Owls, they should have won, it would have been FAU’s biggest win ever.
November 21st, 2015 at 3:59 pm
I hope Nole fans are upbeat. Will be all the more enjoyable when we beat that @$$ Go Gators!!!
November 21st, 2015 at 4:03 pm
Couch Fan, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having listened to it. I will pray for you and may God have mercy on your soul.

@Couchfan
I’m neither a Gator nor a Nole. When they meet I tend to root for the team with the most on the line.
In recent years that has been the Noles. Next week it’ll be the Gators since I think they have the best chance to win the national title and a loss wouldn’t drop the Noles that far down the polls.
Having said that I favor the Noles slightly because UF does not have a good QB…can’t believe they gave him player of the game on the tube…and they can’t even kick extra points or 30 yards FG’s…FSU has a huge edge in the kicking game if it’s close…and it should be…and FSU has two QB’s better than Treon Harris. When Grier comes back next year if Harris is smart he’ll find another position if he has any hope of playing at the next level. Good athlete bad QB. Perhaps WR or DB?

OneLove keep your head buried in the sand. 6-19 and no back to back wins but plenty of back to back loses. Not so idiotic but keep sippin the juice!!!
StPete I agree with mostly everything you said however Gators are 2-0 against our rivals and have shown a knack for pulling out close games which I believe this will be. Plus home field advantage and a great defense. Gator Nation will be in full force.

Appreciate your loyalty and passion. I’m looking forward to the tail end of next week. As the big game approaches I’m going to be amused by the posts hurled back and forth between the Noles and Gators. Hopefully it’ll be mostly civil. LOL
November 21st, 2015 at 10:26 pm
I always laugh at the banter between Gator and Nole fans this time of year. Especially since 90% of those who take this game so seriously never even went to either school
