The Buccaneers aggressively have been circulating dramatic pregame and postgame behind-the-scenes videos of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, rallying his team like few NFL players do.

So Joe asked Jameis about his dancing and preaching this afternoon.

Joe was curious whether Jameis thinks he’s doing the job he wants to accomplish with those performances.

Jameis emphasized the dancing is just “having fun,” but everything else is speaking from his football-loving, team-loving soul.

“After the game, whatever it is that’s on my heart, I just let it out,” Jameis said.

“You know, because we work so hard to prepare for a whole week and we have so many distractions, so many people jabbing at us, so many people wanting us to see us fail. You know, we have people that support us and want to see us succeed.

“But when you get there with your teammates, and you just know, even [the media], y’all are part of that family. You just see everybody when you come to work every day. I feel good to be able to speak up to my team.”

Joe finds it noteworthy that Jameis believes so many people are jabbing the Bucs and want them to fail, yet the media at One Buc Palace he considers family.

Regardless, leading a football team is in young Jameis’ DNA. Not only does it come naturally to Jameis, but he takes it extremely seriously.

(Here’s the latest video, in case you missed it.)

The great ones always play with a chip on their shoulder — whether it’s real or just perceived.

  3. Buccfan37 Says:

Only people I can think of that wants the Bucs to fail are each weeks opponent. No true Bucs fan wants the Bucs to fail, regardless of the critique offered up. Keep believing the world is against you if that leads to improved play.

  4. crayhopper Says:

Wish he would work more on this footwork and less on his dance moves and speeches. His inaccuracy has cost his team a number of wins this year and needs to be fixed.

  5. Ben the GA Buc Says:

His “inaccuracy” has cost the Bucs maybe 2 games, that we may not have won if he had been more accurate.

He can work on his footwork in the offseason. Right now, he’s putting us in position to win football games.

You think he works on his dance moves and speeches at practice?

  7. Buc1987 Says:

CreamsicleBananaHammock…oh Jameis certainly has a chip on his shoulder. He knows that more than 1/2 of the country wants to see him fail. Let’s hope that chip stays there for a long time too.

  8. Howard Cosell Says:

This kids social intelligence is off the Richter scale.
Lol, the media is definitely not always your friend,
but Winston will leave them no other choice than to
    be his friend.

    Go Bucs!

  9. MadMax Says:

I love it! Keep it up Jameis. Whatever it takes!!!

  10. Buc1987 Says:

crayhopper (hater)…the kid is a 21 year old rookie with only 2 years of college ball experience behind him. My lord some people fans need to stop stepping on this kids nuts already.

  11. Clodhopper Says:

I’ve adopted the phrase “real recognize real.” People might blast him for speaking dumb but it’s still great words of wisdom. And it’s fun to say.

There should be tshirt with that phrase. Real recognize real on the front and America’s Quarterback on the back. With a JBF logo on the sleeves.

  12. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Well #3 has certainly won over his team, local media, national media and area fans. But we need some wins to get some national exposure before #3 really gets his props and is understood.

The vast majority of the country are still where we were before the draft. They do not really know #3.

I was talking with my son last week and telling him #3 is the real deal. My son lives in Columbus and roots for the Browns and he said…”no he’s too dumb”.
I had to explain that’s a tired old meme and once he started paying attention he’d see that #3 is not dumb.

I suspect my son represents a huge swath of the nation that is yet to know #3.

    Speaking for Pablo

“This article is the perfect place for Pablo to plug his table dancing……87 has seen it and is a big tipper….the Realist too….but the Realist is into OPTD “Other People’s Table Dancers’…….Pablo has gyrations & a rhythm that can’t be matched.”

  14. John McKillop Says:

@Buc1987, right on with your post and right on with your response to crayhopper, some people are really foolish, seems like a lot of them hang out here on JBF, unfortunately. Go Bucs!

  15. Bucco Brice Says:

The kid isn’t perfect, yet, but no more knocking Jameis from me…I’ve seen the dawn of a new Bucs future….A gamer and leader at QB for the Bucs!!!

  16. Joe Cool Says:

Crayhopper needs to get off the crack pipe. HATER!

No offense, bro. But your son lives in Columbus, Ohio. Pretty much anybody that is living in Ohio voluntarily, should never be calling anybody “dumb”.

Young man has heart. Something this team has needed for a very long time. Becoming a professional NFL QB takes years.

21 yo dealing with overly critical fans with incredibly unrealistic expectations with no lick of patience… This TEAM is storming, norming and now we are seeing the beginning of the performing phase…

It would be amazing if we (as a fanbase) all actually supported them and they didn’t have to deal with the “…jabbing at us, many people wanting to see us fail…” issue. But I do realize that is Mary Poppins. Someday we could have a reputation (as fans) akin to the Browns fans, etc.? Sticking by our team through thick and thin, loyal.

I think (and it’s a common perception throughout the NFL) that as a fan base (and this is not to say don’t have a football opinion) our reputation sucks and that is on us – all of us as a whole.

it’s one thing to be critical, but a complete other to seek out our team to fail – it pisses me off. We all see it on the interweb. sigh.

  19. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Brandon

No offense taken…I wouldn’t want to live in Columbus. But he was raised in Ohio and home is where the heart is. I like Cincinnati and think it’s a cool town but I wouldn’t live there.

Point is whether we think the rest of the nation is nuts for not living here they have yet to catch up to us in the appreciation of #3.

Just sayin’ that the rest of the nation is where we were before the draft…still not sure and uninformed. They do not know the “real” #3 and until we start winning it’s going to take awhile.

I have no doubt #3 will win over the rest of the nation once we start winning and get some pub.

  20. Architek Says:

Most people within the Bucs fan base want him to fail; can’t wait until he develops even more and have his coming out party when he goes for 3-4 TDs and throws for 350+

People will be on his bandwagon even more so.

  21. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard could give a flying **** what anyone think of the Bucs fanbase.
The Bucs are lucky to have Howard as a fan.
That said, rating fans is like rating customers a AppleBees: They’re
all paying customers who should be in charge, not subject to some
    rating scale.
It’s like the Soup Nazi: If you want to be a Soup Nazi then you better
have some incredibly good soup or no one will put up with your bullspit.
The Bucs have had pretty crappy soup since Gruden.

  22. mveal2006 Says:

im rooting for this kid, but tebow won a higher percentage of his games. I just am fatigued by the lack of logic against tebow

  23. grafikdetail Says:

    tebow can’t freaking throw!!

  24. MIke Johnson Says:

Jameis is right. A lot of haters out there. I watched the NFL Network and they barely said anything about our win vs the cowboys. Yet they give the cowgirls over 30 minutes facetime making excuses for them. Kepp Dancin and giving those preacher speeches Jameis. It that helps fire us up then i ‘m all in.
Lets Pluck some Eagle feathers come sunday.
    GO BUCS!

  25. unbelievable Says:

    Tebow? Tebow?!?

  26. Eric Says:

He is probably referring to the pricks at ESPN.

I honestly believe Jameis could run the table and win the Super Bowl and somehow they would find a way to tie it into off field problems at FSU.

  27. DavidbigBucsFan Says:

What’s Toobow got to do with this conversation? Nobody but you was even thinking of him! Toobow is not the same kind of player/leader that the Fameis is. Fameis is a leader of road warriors and Toobow is the leader of the pep squad!

Now unfortunately in this country the lack of eloquent or the proper use of the English language is a barometer for a persons intelligenge. I’ve known plenty of people who speak so well but are dumb as a bag of rocks and street cats who slaughter our language but are smart as any legitimate business owner. The first time I heard the Fameis speak I thought man he’s so country but knew many others would look at him as being dumb or unintelligent. Funny how things are!

  28. McBuc Says:

I travel the country for work, and I fly in a bucs shirt most of the time. People make positive comments about Winston all the time. Before the preseason they were mixed. More people know about JW than one might think. I had a young guy at a Hampton inn in Detroit say “we need Winston to win this one” just last week.

  29. McBuc Says:

Oh, an Columbus is a cool town. Check it out sometime.

  30. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    tebow can’t freaking throw!!

Let me finish that sentence for you so it’s accurate…you need to add…”well enough to play QB in the NFL”. And nobody would disagree with that.

But he can throw the ball. I think he throws the ball better than any other NFL player who is NOT playing QB. Think Julian Edelman and those kind of guys.

I still would love to see Timmy in Tampa as an H back. He could be effective all over the field. But first Timmy has to get rid of any delusions that he’ll EVER be an NFL QB.

But imagine #3 tossing a quick pass out wide to Timmy only to have Timmy find a receiver running deep down the field. If the receivers are open Timmy could get them the ball…no he’s not going to hit tight window and I’m not suggesting he should try…but he is a BIG mobile good athlete.

And as I’ve mentioned before the PR would be through the roof! A Heisman trophy winning QB from FSU tossing a pass to a Heisman Trophy winner from UF. Imagine!!!

First somebody has to get to Timmy to make sure he’s given up delusional ideas about being an NFL QB. If he simply wants to play in the NFL however I think he’s a gifted athlete and could play TE/Hback.

  31. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I wish we would quit lusting after all these unemployed & practice squad players…..Tebow, O’leary….etc.

Maybe…..just maybe, Tebow would be a good H-back….but let someone else break him in at that….we have enough development going on.

I would like to see more action with our FB…..if he can’t do it, get someone else.

  32. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Mike Johnson, if we can beat the Eagles, they will have to start talking about us.

  33. Buc1987 Says:

Only a Gaytors fan would mention Tebow.

  34. Buccfan37 Says:

I can’t wait for that Florida vs Florida St. matchup. It should be a doozy.

  35. LUVMYBUCS Says:

In pressure moments he stands out; very impressive.
-Since most folks crack under pressure.

Interesting to see the Pre-Game dance.
U had Vincent Jackson, Clinton McDonald, in street gear.
Lavonte David turnt up -cheering the kid on; along with others

Yet my guy Gerald was way in the back – almost completely out of the frame.
Eveyone has their pregame ritual-I get it.

Maybe thats how my guy focuses-no worries

But I have to admit – it raises an eyebrow

I wish we would quit lusting after all these unemployed & practice squad players…..Tebow, O’leary….etc.

really? Guess you’re not likely Dye and Humphries then.

There’s are HUGE difference between Tebow and O’Leary. Tebow has been given multiple shots and couldn’t do anything with them. O’Leary, like many late round rookies, is learning and earning while on a practice squad.

I don’t see any issue with loving the concept of pairing Jameis with a favorite target from FSU. O’Leary can catch, run and block like a lineman. He would likely never beat Martin’s numbers but there’s no doubt that opposing teams would worry about who they should give more coverage to if you had Martin and O’Leary in the same lineup with Jameis. They may not think that much of O’Leary but they’d certainly know that Jameis/O’Leary connection was gold. Coach Fisher had opposing teams in a lather, especially in 2013, when he had O’Leary, Benjamin and Freeman all on the field at the same time! Cover Freeman and Benjamin and the TE O’Leary would bust for 15 yards. Cover O’Leary and Freeman and Benjamin just needed to stand tall. Cover Freeman and he could still blow by you.

The Bucs don’t have a TE that any team is worried about. You get Evans & VJax, Martin and a TE that can make plays and you have opposing teams that will get their coverage wrong enough times to put points on the board. Doing that with a former college QB/TE pairing? Nothing wrong with that concept.

  38. cmurda Says:

Well said Jena. I’m more than game to add an O’Leary in the mix.

  39. Jena W Says:

cmurda – all O’Leary would need to to do is make a couple of his bare handed catches and bulldoze his way to a TD or 2 and Tampa Bay fans would LOVE HIM!

Just keep him away from motorcycles and buses! lol

  40. DavidbigBucsFan Says:

Mike Johnson I saw the same thing when looking at the game highlights. They showed the few Dallas big plays and only our bad plays.
