“I Cost My Team Big Time”
November 8th, 2015Mike Evans stood tall before the media in the grumpy Bucs locker room this evening and talked about his dropped balls against the Giants
All four of them.
“I coulda had a huge day and I could have helped us get a win. But I didn’t do that,” Evans said. “Even though it was raining and it was slick, I gotta do better.
“I cost my team big time.
“It was wet, but it was humid. And I kept sweating through my gloves and then I put the rain gloves on and I dropped a third-down conversion. And I had to keep changing them. The ball was too slick, but that’s no excuse. I gotta catch those. The other guys are catching them. I gotta catch’em.
“I gotta be better. Jameis was playing great.”
There’s really not much to say. Catch the ball, Mike. That’s about 10 or 11 drops this season.

Maybe JW can learn to catch his own passes …maybe then this team will have a winning chance. Disgusted !!

Find a WR in the draft.
November 8th, 2015 at 8:19 pm
They better not draft one offensive player in the first 5 rounds. That defense stinks. Evans will get better at some point but the secondary is true garbage. We also need a Defensive End.

Kid is 22, he’s pressing and not focusing on the catch
Coaching will get him through it…if he gets it.
ME13’s drops are the least of this teams issues

Number one in the NFL for Dropped Passes and Bitchin to the refs
November 8th, 2015 at 8:24 pm
I guess they kinda wish the had put Kenny Bell on the pup instead of IR
November 8th, 2015 at 8:28 pm
I agree….Evans will be OK……I don’t think we’ve breathed on a QB for 3 weeks now…..we have ZERO pass rush.
Our defense did play a bit better….
We’ve got to get touchdowns when we get into the red zone…3 isn’t enough for our team….

It has been hot all week, game time muggy weather with light rain slicks up the footballs giving them that butterfingery elusiveness, I’ll buy that.
November 8th, 2015 at 8:34 pm
“It’s no excuse, but here are five of them!”
November 8th, 2015 at 8:43 pm
Put a team around Winston and watch the Bucs win…
November 8th, 2015 at 8:45 pm
Evans drops was just one problem.
November 8th, 2015 at 8:47 pm
Well he is learning from Vincent Jackson who dropped so many passes he got Freeman ran out of town.
November 8th, 2015 at 8:56 pm
Cost the team? You lost the game for the Bucs all by yourself. If you had caught the passes that Winston put in you breadbasket Bucs win that game.

I actually counted 5. Can’t forget the last drop of the game(second to last play when they were trying to lateral it)
November 8th, 2015 at 9:18 pm
Starting to become a broken record for the season from this guy. Just catch the damn ball, and stop begging for PI on every throw, you look foolish.
November 8th, 2015 at 9:27 pm
Evans has solidified himself as a legit #2 receiver.
He is not “the guy.”
He’s Peerless Price. He’s Alvin Harper. He is at best a complimentary receiver.
So add #1 WR to your Christmas wish list. Add that to “legit CB,” “actual pass rushing DE,” and “TE not made of balsa wood.”

Evans=Skillet
November 8th, 2015 at 9:37 pm
Still believe in me. You can’t forget last year. Looks like he lost his confidence. Hope we can resign Vjax maybe add another guy in fa. I want our high picks in draft going to defense not wr.
November 8th, 2015 at 9:47 pm
Evans will be fine, he’s immature. WR takes maturity and concentration. I hope that’ll come. And it starts w accountability, that means not flag hunting and not making excuse (which he subtly slipped in those post game comments).

Chessmaster and I are on the same page–yeah–no doubt, Mike evans didn’t just cost us big— he lost the game singlehandedly, many people played bad but he was awful and kept looking for the ref to make a call even before the ball was dead–behavior that has to stop–time for the dude to grow up and work on his craft. He looks so foolish–that is worse than dropping it–begging at the refs never helps.

I guess it wasn’t raining on ODB cuz he caught everything. Boy these Bucs lead the league in excuses. Pathetic!!!!!!
November 8th, 2015 at 11:21 pm
This is not the same guy we saw last season. It makes me wonder if the off season workouts with Randy Moss weren’t counter productive.
November 9th, 2015 at 1:06 am
I counted 6 drops.
