Cryptic Message From ASJ
November 6th, 2015With Vincent Jackson likely out for the near future, with Louis Murphy out for the season, that leaves only one real, legitimate target for America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston.
That would be Mike Evans.
But even Evans isn’t 100 percent. It sure would be nice if the Bucs could get uber-talented tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins back on the field. Jameis and the Bucs could use him.
ASJ, who got his shoulder banged up against the Saints in Week Two, hasn’t played since. However, he was (finally) a full participant in today’s practice for the Bucs, the first time all week.
ASJ, who has played in but 11 of the 23 regular season games the Bucs have had since he was drafted in the second round, is currently listed as questionable for Sunday.
After practice today, ASJ left a cryptic message about his status on Twitter.
Can’t rush gods timing control what u can control
— Austin SJ (@Aesj88) November 6, 2015
Will ASJ play Sunday? Well, he did practice fully today.
So it smells like the Bucs might see if he is good to go Sunday. We’ll learn if he will dress 90 minutes before kickoff (2:30 p.m.) when the inactive list is announced.
November 6th, 2015 at 4:37 pm
Might as well give this young man a try out…

November 6th, 2015 at 4:37 pm
Waste of a premium pick.
November 6th, 2015 at 4:39 pm
I don’t think he knows what being a pro means.
November 6th, 2015 at 4:40 pm
SIGN. NICK. O’LEARY.
November 6th, 2015 at 4:47 pm
Lovie told him to F with the Giants on Twitter. He’s playing!!
November 6th, 2015 at 4:49 pm
Love and Warrick, I don’t know how well O’leary would play, but signing him would pump up Jameis even more, if that’s possible!!
November 6th, 2015 at 5:13 pm
Was he referring to his playing status or did he need to take a dump?
November 6th, 2015 at 5:17 pm
Does it really matter??? When has he actually played and made a difference?
November 6th, 2015 at 5:19 pm
@Eric
Also, O’Leary is tough son of gun. He walked away from a bus accident on his motorcycle. He’s not going to let any type of soft tissue injury stop him. ASJ could learn a few things from Nick about rubbing some dirt on it.
November 6th, 2015 at 5:32 pm
I’ll tell you what you can control ASJ. If there is a sliver of potential to be on the field. Control that and get your ass on the field. It sounds like Lovie shouldn’t make that visit to the ball store alone. ASJ needs to buy a pair of balls also.
November 6th, 2015 at 5:33 pm
Fans might be right about ASJ…..they could also be very wrong….only ASJ knows for sure.
It seems to me that a good player would want to play….especially a starter and to play with “America’s QB” and Dirk Koetter. When he was in earlier in the year he was a force.
They were saying the same thing about Stocker….and he finally got healthy.
November 6th, 2015 at 5:52 pm
No worries Brate got this.
November 6th, 2015 at 5:55 pm
Don’t like this phrase but….Time to man up young man.
November 6th, 2015 at 6:07 pm
Word is he tore a ligament in his finger while posting that message. #softassMF
November 6th, 2015 at 6:09 pm
have any of you even ever played football in college or NFL to be questioning this kids toughness? i bet yall call off with a tummy ache LOL
November 6th, 2015 at 6:36 pm
Can’t rush God’s timing but you got no problem cashing the paycheck. This jerk will never get it. Epic waste of a pick and he’s got a terrible attitude.
November 6th, 2015 at 6:36 pm
Love and Warrick Dunn Says
“SIGN. NICK. O’LEARY.”
I would love this…I wanted us to draft him.
November 6th, 2015 at 6:38 pm
I thought he would make a good fullback too. (O’Leary)
November 6th, 2015 at 6:44 pm
FYI, this comment is in reference to the PERFECT timing of him returning… He is the X Factor for this offence hands down!!! A Gronk type factor…. Rip into me if you want about him being fragile but truth be told none of his injuries have been flukes….
Also not saying he is Gronk but I am saying he has game braking potential anytime he is on the field… We easily win the Texans game with him and likely make a close one out of the Carolina game….
He will be back on the field Sunday is my gut feeling reading into this comment because it is God like timing IF he is a go…. The Giants ain’t ready to see him…. If he is a go put him in your Fan Duel line up as the sleeper!!!!
November 6th, 2015 at 6:44 pm
Playing professional football is all about getting the snaps and making a name for yourself so that once that rookie contract ends you can make a ton of cash. If you miss 50% of your games I doubt you will be re-signed once that contract ends. So why would ASJ want to purposely stay out? Makes no sense. Obviously he is still injured. Based on the twitter message, he is not going to play Sunday. No problem. Stocker, Myers and Brate are going to step up again.
November 6th, 2015 at 6:47 pm
People forget the knock he took to get injured in the first place. I read this tweet as though he’s finally good to go. Hopefully he’s 100%.
November 6th, 2015 at 6:47 pm
ASJ is starting to really p!ss me off
November 6th, 2015 at 6:52 pm
We been waiting for ASJ for a long time around here… So he sure as heck ain’t rushing anything… Just saw Tyler Eifert have a monster game last night and was just smh thinking “if only”… ASJ cmon bro the team and the fans are waiting for our sleeping giant to finally wake up!!!
Let the cannons go!!!
November 6th, 2015 at 7:11 pm
One thing you can count on just like the defense giving or trying to give games away. As fast as ASJ get’s back he will be out again!
November 6th, 2015 at 7:33 pm
Doesn’t seem you have the desire to get back on the gridiron ASJ. Perhaps if you would express that you are disappointed and show us that you are physically doing all you can to return. To state “Can’t rush Gods timing control what you can control” seems like an easy way out.. We fans see the one thing you are still controlling and that’s is cashing a paycheck that you are not earning and not going all out to return to work. Nice “work” if you can get it “ASJ”.
November 6th, 2015 at 7:36 pm
Or ASJ plays and catches some balls without getting injured worse.
November 6th, 2015 at 7:40 pm
I knew letting Tim Wright go again was a mistake. Dude could have lined up at WR in a pinch and was a match up problem if used correctly.
That was a bad move, Lovie&Licht!
November 6th, 2015 at 7:41 pm
I know this is off topic but congratulations to Kwon Alexander for winning ROTW….well deserved. ..and also can someone tell me if the Bucs game is @1pm or 4pm….according to NFL.com the game is @4pm but on my AT&T Uverse guide, the game is @1pm….someone please clear this up for me…its rear that i get to see a Bucs game in my own home…I usually have to go to a bar with Sunday ticket. …joe when do you post the game map for the games this weekend?
November 6th, 2015 at 7:54 pm
Congratulations to Kwon Alexander for winning ROTW…..Go Bucs!!!
November 6th, 2015 at 7:56 pm
ASJ does seem to have talent when he gets on the field. He has demonstrated some amazing brain dead immaturity with the Capt Morgan pose and the fumble in OT that cost us a game, but I still believe he has talent.
Only time will tell though about his body. But TBBF is correct we need to stop any rush to judgement. Remember when Rob Gronkoski was considered unable to stay on the field because of injuries. He’s on a pretty good run right now. Same for GMC. Perhaps ASJ will heal and develop his potential. Too soon to call him a bust yet though.
November 6th, 2015 at 7:56 pm
Can someone please tell me what time the Bucs game is on Sunday? My AT&T Uverse guide says 1pm but NFL.COM says 4pm…..can someone please clarify for me? ???
November 6th, 2015 at 8:01 pm
People forget that ASJ was drafted as a junior…he is still young and growing!
November 6th, 2015 at 8:16 pm
lol Go by what NFL.com says not your Uverse guide
Game is at 4:05 ET
November 6th, 2015 at 8:19 pm
lol in other words ASJ is a healthy scratch again.
The dude is soft
November 6th, 2015 at 8:23 pm
As stated above, Stocker was injured half the time in his first 4 years, now he is at least a physical blocker and ST guy. Hoping to see ASJ on the field for the remaining games this season. I hope he starts playing near his potential at least, we would be hard to stop.
November 6th, 2015 at 8:23 pm
Why does everyone want ASJ back? He cannot block and drops passes all the time. Let’s roll with Brate and Myers! ASJ can waste away his career if he wants. Time to move on if he can’t be a contributing team member.
November 6th, 2015 at 8:35 pm
Has ASJ ever heard of hydrocodone?
My shoulder’s been hurt for 3 weeks now. Pill up and get your ass out there. Freakin’ wuss.
November 6th, 2015 at 8:59 pm
ODB catches with one hand, just saying.
November 6th, 2015 at 9:11 pm
87… that sounds like a big pharma plug.
November 6th, 2015 at 9:30 pm
And where do you start on this guy’s punctuation? And he didn’t even capitalize God! Cut him now!
November 6th, 2015 at 9:58 pm
I hope he’s not waiting around for his God to tell him to play. Just get back out there ASAP please.
November 6th, 2015 at 10:03 pm
As Logan Mankins would say “tape an Aspirin to it”.
ASJ is like Derek Rose without all the talent.
November 6th, 2015 at 10:21 pm
DraftJameis…it’s OUR God, not just his.
You want to know why you atheists are such morons?
People all over the EARTH from all different walks of life pray to some form of a God. The Muslims pray to Allah, Chinese pray to Buddah, Christians pray to God and Jesus, the witnesses pray to their Jehovah and on and on. BILLIONS of people pray to some form of a God.
Atheists make up like 0.1% of the world, but us believers are the idiots right?
No I’m not a bible thumper and I don’t attend church, but to me it’s just ignorant to think there’s not something other worldy that created it all of this. Too many believers into the BILLIONS simply can’t all be wrong.
Sorry Joe’s but anything goes lately on this site…
November 6th, 2015 at 10:40 pm
Buc1987
I don’t care about your religion. You shouldn’t care about my lack of religion (which, by the way, I did not overtly state).
I said “his God” for the exact reason that YOU pointed out; different people have different God’s. Who am I to assume what ASJ believes in?
Go to bed sir, you’re awfully wound up this evening.
November 6th, 2015 at 10:45 pm
One last thing:
“Too many believers into the BILLIONS simply can’t all be wrong” is atrociously terrifying logic that I hope you don’t implement into every day life. Like I said, I don’t care what you believe in. But don’t personally attack people for their beliefs, especially when said beliefs have nothing to do with the matter at hand. Go Bucs
November 6th, 2015 at 11:16 pm
87 your getting more and more like BB and HB everyday. Take a chill Pill man.
November 6th, 2015 at 11:58 pm
BucFan20..it’s stress man. I’ll be back to myself in about 4 more days. that’s when I can finally have a drink after three months of nothing. That’s my chill pill. BTW in case you haven’t noticed I’ve always been like HB. He’s actually my nemesis.lol BB on the other hand, please don’t say that. That’s just insulting.
DraftJameis….I apologize then. It’s just that when someone types the words “his God” it’s pretty evident what that person believes. I’ve seen it numerous times from political blogs to sports blogs and the like. Your comment was actually a light comment compared to others I’ve read over the years that literally attack anyone that says the word God. They belittle someone for believing in such a thing. So once again, I apologize and God Bless You.
November 7th, 2015 at 5:06 am
mike is right; what a waste of a premium pick. Here is a not so cryptic message from a Buc fan to ASJ: “Get on the ****ing field and makes some plays and do not follow them up with idiotic Captain Morgan poses!” I normally do not agree with Steve Duemig very often but he is right about ASJ in that the guy appears to be a bust who hides out in the training room….. There were a lot of talented players sitting there in that 37th or 38th spot in the 2014 draft; probably someone who would be contributing a lot more to the Bucs than this injury prone waste of a pick…..
November 7th, 2015 at 5:27 am
@DB55, “Brate got this”
EXACTLY!!!
November 7th, 2015 at 7:26 am
fat boy is soft…should have been a baseball player
November 7th, 2015 at 7:28 am
why are you lemmings talking religion…err my bad you lack the courage to realize “self”….keep keepin on cowards
November 7th, 2015 at 7:46 am
With the 2nd pick in the 2014 draft the bucs take jarvis laundry wide reciever lsu.
Said it at the time saying it again
November 7th, 2015 at 7:47 am
@87, I am with you on this one sir. I appreciate what your saying and standing up for!!!!
As far as us cowards go… We realize self did not create self…
As far as world religions go…. Not everyone can be right… ONLY ONE TRUE GOD!!!!
His name is Jesus… A serious study proves this without a shadow of a doubt… I invite you all to pray about this and ask Jesus into your heart… You can meet your savior personally…
As far as ASJ goes…. He is correct, timing is everything and having him back this week would be PERFECT TIMING!!!! I am counting on him playing…. He was doing a lot of work just before last weeks game and might of played if not for the turf factor… I hear its like concrete when you fall hard on it…. So this week he plays and will light it up!!!!
November 7th, 2015 at 8:14 am
TE Nick O’ Leary (?)
He’s currently on the Bills’ practice squad. I’m sure the FO has noticed and did their homework about his potential pre-draft.
He’s currently making $110K/yr. So, he’s inexpensive.
He rates as a 2-way (block/catch) TE. At 6’3/255lbs he’s not a giant. But, with all due respect to Brate, he is a better blocker.
So, ..uh..what’s the downside?
The real deal is that the Bills don’t have him on their active roster, for some (no speed, no YAC, poor routes) reason. Maybe, he’s just not a serious option at the pro level.
But, for $110K he’s worth a look considering the lack of TE “game breakers” after ASJ. Oh, well….running the ball with success is a great option.
November 7th, 2015 at 8:30 am
He hurt is shoulder patting himself on the back.
November 7th, 2015 at 9:01 am
Amazing how all the bad asses on here, whose only risk to injury is tripping over a beer bottle after posting on here, somehow know the extent of this man’s injury.
One solid NFL tackle would have you all crying for your mommy.
Hilarious.

Word is he tore a ligament in his finger while posting that message. #softassMF
LMFAO…

#IceUpSon
November 7th, 2015 at 11:01 am
Let’s put an end to the silly talk…..
Of course we all know exactly how ASJ feels……we are able to get inside his head and body and feel exactly how he does.
Of course ASJ doesn’t want to play…..doesn’t want to excel….doesn’t want to make any big bucks…..would much prefer to sell life insurance after his 4-year tour with the awful NFL…
Shame on ASJ…..he’s soft like all the other players who were injured…..Gronk, for example……AP, Revis……and many others.
And…..it’s also Lovie’s fault.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:22 am
I like ASJ, I think the fans are a little to hard on him…Professional football is a tough sport, injuries are going to happen…Many fans were saying the same cruel things about McCoy his first 2 seasons…hopefully ASJ can elude the injury bug that’s plagued him in his young career thus far…everyone knows, Jameis loves using his TE’s and ASJ is a beast when healthy and on the field…
November 7th, 2015 at 11:43 am
Dammit, he’s not playing
November 7th, 2015 at 11:57 am
Time to move on to Cameron Brate. Similar production without the stupid mistakes.
November 7th, 2015 at 12:43 pm
How come no one thought to call Nick O’Leary? Well I’m sure someone thought of it but no one has done anything. I think he’s an FA and can be had for pennies.
November 7th, 2015 at 1:44 pm
You people are lying to yourselves and each other. ASJ is nothing close to Gronk.
November 7th, 2015 at 3:07 pm
Gronk is not the same personality as ASJ, aka The Annointed One mending.
November 7th, 2015 at 4:38 pm
Nick O’ Leary…. He’s a poor man’s version of Jace Amaro.. LMAO
This guy played with Jameis should not be the number one reason why we sign someone or a reason in general..
There’s a reason why the Ravens said thanks but no thanks to plenty of WR after Steve Smith injury.. Skill players without a job at this point in the season aren’t actual skill players(aside from Bradshaw who played for the team the previous season and was recovering from injury).. They are just bodies.
November 7th, 2015 at 10:41 pm
Wells says is right, whether he plays or not–what difference, the other tight ends are just as good-they have been playing and are developing a connection with JW. Let ASJ sit the bench, he’ll make a good trade–good size, good potential, just too comfortable being injured.
