Offense Night And Day
November 5th, 2015Joe wants to go crazy when thinking of what a vomit-inducing season last year was. Joe doesn’t know how some fans made it through.
Then again, if not for a horrid year, one of the worst in Bucs history, Tampa Bay may be without America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston.
Last year, the trainwreck was in full overdrive when then-offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford stepped aside with health issues and the offense was left in the hands of ill-suited Marcus Arroyo.
Earlier this week, per the fingers of Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune, Bucs offensive tackle Demar Dotson explained what a mess the offense was under Arroyo.
“Having an offensive coordinator like Dirk (Koetter) has really benefitted us because we didn’t have that last year and we were all over the place,’’ Dotson said. “We were passing the ball when we should have been running it and running it when we should have been passing it. But now we have a guy who knows what he’s doing and who’s been there, who’s done it and been very successful at it.’’
Again, when Joe’s blood pressure starts to rise thinking of last year, the thought turns to if not for that debacle, then there likely would be no Jameis. If that’s what it took to get Jameis (and it did), then it was a good price to pay.
And as much as Lovie Smith has done a terrible job with his defense this year, the way he has handled Jameis and eased Jameis into the NFL, and the hiring of Koetter to oversee the offense, Lovie deserves mad props for that.

I’m gon be PISSED if he slips away after this season for a HC job

Mike 10
maybe Tampa Bays HC!

Remember the man who deserves 100% of the credit for the Bucs offense…
…Lovie Smith.

I don’t see Koetter becoming the Bucs HC. He is in the position he feels most comfortable handling. He fits right where he is now. Didn’t he say he wasn’t a HC?

“…the way he has handled Jameis and eased Jameis into the NFL and the hiring of Koetter to oversee the offense, Lovie deserves mad props for that.”
Are sure that’s the way it went down? Maybe Licht told Lovie to hire Koetter and leave the offense alone. Maybr Koeter is the one who has handles Jameris so well. As I remember, Lovie was the one late last year who had to be convinced that Jameis was the correct choice for the #1 pick.

Arroyo is working exactly nowhere this season.
When I heard he was going to be the OC, that was my first inkling of “Don’t Win’ston for Jameis”
November 5th, 2015 at 1:40 pm
Two years of nearly all offensive drafts….#1 QB pick….new competent OC….
Now lets fix the D…..

ahhh BF37, one can dream, one can dream
November 5th, 2015 at 1:58 pm
Koetter has nothing to do with it. Since the offense looks kind of decent compared to last season, that’s only because of Lovie Smith. They could fire Koetter tomorrow and it wouldn’t make a lick of difference. Because Lovie is a football genius.

Now let’s fix the D….
Please…..don’t think my heart can take anymore of the stress that the defense is causing! I go into arrest every game when the lead starts slipping away! I literally have to leave the room! Please defense..,.help me out here!

No matter what the post – Joe(s) manage to get more Winston propaganda in there ! Like the “Big Dog” told you on your eds. show—- it really gets sickening and, personally, turns me AGAINST Winston. I have to fight that every week. The kid has shown me a lot. But let’s face it, he did NOT have a good game versus ATL (no turnoverws and 1 good pass to Brate do not qualify as “good” to me. You Joe(s) are so ridiculously over-the-top for this guy that I almost want to root against HIM but hope the Bucs win ! and tht’s not fair to Jameis. Just remember Joe(s)…. at this point…
KIRK COUSINS > JAMEIS WINSTON !

Buc1987 … I love sarcasm. Danger is that someone might take you seriously and bring back Arroyo.
Many people expected (Joe and myself included) that the Bucs would win 6 games this year. Season’s almost half over, and we’re halfway there. Strange thing is that we could’ve easily been 5-2 instead of 3-4 (Texans & Redskins games were very winnable) if just a couple of things were corrected or the ball ‘bounced our way’ a bit more often (like in the Falcons game?).
Joe … I agree 100% that Lovie isn’t getting it done as a DC (which in reality he is now), but he shouldn’t have taken on that role in the first place. I’m sure that he and Frasier are as frustrated with the D as all of us are, and I think it’ll improve once again in the second half of the season. But I’m convinced that we just don’t have all the horses right now to make any defensive scheme work good enough to become a playoff team. 6 wins is still probably about right unfortunately. Still, we’ve seem a lot of improvement this year already. Lovie deserves some hits for what’s not working, but also some kudos for what’s working well … just like you said.

Think about this the next time you make a snarky comment about “McClown”. Still not funny.
Think about what? McCown was dreadful in his own performance regardless of the playcaller. He looked like a bad rookie. Joe doesn’t take Dotson’s words as gospel, though they are worth sharing and noting. Nobody complained when the Bucs humped the Steelers in PIttsburgh last year, followed by a huge offensive output in New Orleans, BOTH with Mike Glennon. –Joe

Looks to me like someone was a HUGE McClown fan Joe. They must be sad that he’s gone now.
Is this Luke McClown in disguise?

Remember the man who deserves 100% of the credit for the Bucs offense…
…Lovie Smith.
——————————————————————————–
Thank you for realizing that Lovie Smith has FULL CONTROL over all PLAYER/PERSONNEL decisions! He is RESPONSIBLE for bringing in Dirk Koetter… He IS RESPONSIBLE for tanking and drafting Jameis! I know it must have been hard to accept the reality(given all the hate you have), but kudos for thinking like a grown up and giving credit where credit is due!
Let’s remember that you “non-sensical radicals” would BE BLAMING Lovie Smith for hiring Dirk Koetter if our offense didn’t improve AND blaming Lovie Smith for a bad draft if they turned out to be busts! The latter is still TBD, but LOOKING GOOD SO FAR!
“Another one bites the dust!”
“It’s as simple as that” – Lovie Smith
“Changing coaches about halfway through a rebuilding effort is a recipe for perpetual failure.” – Johnny “America’s Commenter” Dejay
“If Lovie don’t no how to coach so be it… Hard to believe he would get a job offer and you wouldn’t…. Wonder why??? Your idiots that’s why…” – JAB83
“So my advice would be, yes, it’s okay to throw things at your TV when your team has a monumental collapse like the Bucs did on Sunday in Washington. But take a deep breath and understand that it is only going to get worse if you continue to jump from one coach to the next.” – Peter King

Love it when Joe pops onto the message boards and flicks ball sacks… Glad to see your so involved in Troll stomping..
Also glad to see your coming around to the idea Lovie has done some excellent things for our team on the opposite side of the ball then we all expected!!!
You should ask him for me Joe… “So its being rumored that while in your basement you decided to turn into an offensive minded HC. Not that your heart is not D but that you saw the need to adjust your coaching style. Is there any truth to this rumor.” That would be a fun question to here his response to…. Bet his response is something like, “who is saying that” or “what do you think.”
I am not a Lovie sell out but I am a realist… For all the cridics that say he has done nothing… Well I don’t think they understand what a HC is suppose to do…. Maybe we can have an “expert opinion” on that some day..
Its as simple as flicking trolls in the ball sack….
It…
Really…
Is….

Oh and who would I be if I didn’t call out our resident gloom and doomed Fan of Depression infected by Trolls desease big head little brained (just to mention one of his many little body parts) egotistical woe is me I need medical advice on a message board really I just like the attention of people feeling sorry for me non-sinsical arrogant Buck 1987….
87 I am actually proud of you… You thought so hard of changing and adjusting your style of being a Fan of Depression that almost impressed me!!!
To bad your adjustment in negativity was not as good as Lovies adjustments in coaching… You might of actually gotten somewhere…
I’m sure you will try again… But what are you gonna say when we play the Giants hard… Win or lose and come out the other side!!!! Seriously little girl… Stop all your pouting and realize who the real loser in the room is when you step in
