X-Factor Involved At Practice
October 30th, 2015Keeping it real, the Bucs have to be feeling desperate to get tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins on the field Sunday.
The thought of Russell Shepard and Donteea Dye as the Nos. 2 and 3 receiver options entering the game is troubling at best.
Seferian-Jenkins has practiced on a limited basis this week, as he tries to return from a Week 2 shoulder injury that the Bucs haven’t detailed.
Joe was at practice today, and in the 30-minute window open to media, Seferian-Jenkins was a busy guy. He was catching balls early from an assistant coach and there was a lot of chatter between him and Jameis-Winston. Clearly, Seferian-Jenkins can physically catch the ball, which Lovie Smith said the other day.
But the question is taking a shot on his shoulder, or having the ability to block.
If Joe were betting, then Joe would say Seferian-Jenkins goes on Sunday, and the Bucs try to get him involved early to at least establish him as a threat in the Falcons’ minds.

Anybody have Ocho Cinco’s number handy? Might as well be entertained while I suffer through watching this clueless defensive scheme!

If I was ASJ ( Always-Shelved Jenkins) agent, I would be lining up commercials with Hospitals and doctors offices. You know the ” When I am injured, and thats a lot” I like to spend my time here”.

Realist… Too funny.
I wonder how many of these players get proper nutrition and training in the off season? I think a lot of guys don’t have any idea how much nutrition plays into their health when they first get in the league.

I’m sure he will last 1 or 2 solid qtrs.

I hope Sims can play slot and wide receiver!

Totally random thought for this post, but whatever….
I am really concerned that Lovie’s laid back, who cares attitude is going to hinder Jameis. That it’s going to rub off on him. The kid is one of the biggest competitors around and Lovie’s attitude had better not tamp that down
I seriously think that making a switch at the HC position would be best for Jameis and I want a fire-breathing mad man who is passionate about the game as our next HC.

I am not sure how to contact Joe or JoeBucsFan, so hopefully this can get through to them. Just so you know:
According to pro-sports-reference stats. Jameis Winston ranks #2 in the league in yards per completion at 13.7 behind only Carson Palmer. He is ahead of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers by a whole yard and a half.
We are 2-4. This stat doesn’t matter too much. But it’s still cool to see our rookie is excelling in areas

I dont understand how people can rag on a guy for being injured. It’s not like he’s trying to get injured or has any control in the matter. Disrepecting him for his play is fine… but sheesh.

Heres to hoping koetter can find a way to get sims and martin on the field at the same time. Those 2 make up 66% of our playmakers on offense. Also sims is advertised as having great wr type skills. Im putting all of my eggs in to the offenses basket. Hopefully we can put up 50 points and not leave it to the defense to blow it.

This offense can be so dynamic when it is healthy. We haven’t even seen all of the pieces on the field at the same time. Get well soon ASJ and V Jax.

Lol @ TruBucFan. So Jameis & Mike Evans aren’t important at all I guess. SMDH!

VJAX- Doubtful
ASJ- Doubtful
So much for ASJ being the savior….someone needs to tell this kid…u cant make the club from the tub. Its gonna be another week of buc ball. If this is a shootout, we are toast.

I think Jameis will be able to connect with the backup receivers to some extent. I don’t believe Atlanta is as good as their record suggests. They have already won more games than they will the rest of the season.

Wes welker cmon bucs lmao

TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins is getting a bad rap. How “injury prone” really is he? Other than being suspended for the 2013 season opener vs. Boise State, following a DUI, he played in every game in college. His first injury was a stress fracture in his foot, which was found before the NFL Combine. He then missed seven games with ankle and back injuries, in 2014. The back injury eventually led him to injured reserve. In 2015, Seferian-Jenkins was injured in the Houston game, when he was diagnosed with a strained shoulder, and was sidelined ever since.
That makes really just two times, that he has missed playing football due to injuries since 2011. Does that make him “injury prone?” Two times in five years? It’s a major bummer for a sophomore who’s shown some chemistry with rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, that he has not had the chance to show the talent he has. It is still not to late to make the Pro Bowl.

I am sick and tired of people calling Austin Seferian-Jenkins “injury prone” and soft. Seferian-Jenkins NEVER missed a game in college due to an injury. Never. He had a stress fracture in his foot, that was found prior to the 2014, NFL Combine. In his rookie year he missed seven games with ankle and back injuries. The back injury eventually led to him being placed on injured reserve. This year he injured his shoulder in the Houston game and had been out ever since. That makes two times he has been injured ad missed games since 2011. In five years of playing football he has been injured two times. Does two times make him “injury prone?” I call it bad luck. Players get injured in this game. When he gets voted in to the Pro Bowl this year everyone will know the kind of player he is.
2014 College Foot Combine examination revealed a stress fracture in his right foot, which required surgery and precluded him from working out. Missed his April 2 pro day because he was still recovering.
2014 NFL Foot ASF injured the foot he fractured in the offseason that required surgery and missed 2 games
2014 NFL Back ASJ injured his back in week 12 and was placed on IR ending his season
2012 College Hand Broke his right pinkie finger during fall camp and had surgery to insert a pin in the finger.
