“I Get The Sense This Locker Room Understands That”
October 24th, 2015Joe loves these late October games that really mold an NFL season.
Take the Bucs against the Redskins on Sunday. It’s a hugely pivotal game for both teams, and (gasp) the NFC playoff race.
Redskins beat writer Tarik El-Bashir, in this CSN Washington video, explains that he believes Redskins players comprehend a loss to the Bucs, and subsequently entering their bye week at 2-5, is a crisis situation in waiting. Beat the Bucs and go 3-4, well, that’s a whole different world.
“I get the sense this locker room understands that,” El-Bashir said.
That comment got Joe thinking about spending time in the Bucs’ locker room this week. Do the Bucs understand how huge this game is for the them, a shot to go 3-3 and recapture local and national respectability?
Joe’s not sure. Most Bucs seemed very loose and relaxed. Maybe that’s a good thing.
One guy Joe can say seemed ready to run through a brick wall: Doug Martin. There’s a fire in that guy this year.

This should be a knock down drag out battle. Both teams enter desperation mode with a loss. OT possible?

I like seeing the team loose and having fun. But it would be nice to know that they also get serious about winning games, and being the best players each individual player can be. I hope these guys are focused on winning more than just having fun.

THE SKINS and coach Gruden are calling this a , Must win..code Red game. And from the looks of things, their players are fired up about this home game. Could spell trouble if our Bucs come out flat. The bye week should help us if we play with enthusiasm and determination. Again, Start Jamis slow. Let him get warmed up then feature his arm. I’m looking for that swag from our Bucs. I don’t see it. If we can get a rush, we got a shot. If not, Cousins is gonna look like Johnny Unitas.

Redskins might be 2-4 overall, but they’re 2-1 at home, with their 2 wins coming against 2 pretty decent teams (Rams & Eagles) and their only home loss being against the Dolphins (by 1 TD). Interestingly they’ve lost all 3 road games that they’ve played.
I’m with Buccfan37 … this should be a knock down, drag out battle. The Redskins dominated the time-of-possession in both of their home wins, and Cousins played exceptionally well in both. Even in their loss to Miami, he played quite well … except for 2 INTs.
Outcome will be decided by our defense more than our offense. Washington’s average time-of-possession in their 3 home games has been within a couple seconds of 39 mins per game. If our defense can’t get them off the field, we’re in trouble.

IMO we win this game UNLESS one or both of the following happen. 1) JW goes Carolina on us again. 2) the Skins are able pound the run for about 200 yards.

Lol that was the most biased video I have ever watched.
Bucs have the better offensive and probably the better defense due to all of the redskins injuries.
Oh and which team had the special teams player of the week the last time they played?

Joe I’ve been in total agreement with you about this game for the last 2 weeks. If they lose then they are just as good as the Jags and Skins of the NFL. If they win it says that they can be the crap teams, because they are not as bad as the crap teams anymore. If they beat the hell out of the Skins then that says even more. If they get the hell beaten out of them by the Skins, well we all know what happens then.

beat* the crap teams..
damn it!

Overall…I think we’ve played better on the road then at home….so I don’t think that’s much of a factor.
If we can run on them….we win!!!
October 24th, 2015 at 3:23 pm
I hope our players aren’t patting themselves on the back for being 2-3. That’s what losers do. We can win this game and we better do it. It’s just as important for our teams season as it is for theirs. Go Bucs!!!

Been a Bucs fan since 87. It takes about 2-3 years of winning football for our fan base to get behind this team, never mind a “critical” game. Home and away hasn’t meant anything to this team since Gruden’s last days and nothing they do this year will move that meter either way. Airing all the games this goes a long way in the right direction so kudos for ownership for that, but we Buc fans are frankly a second if not third tier sports fanbase and more often than not we get the product we deserve.

Brion…hilarious…I became a fan in 87 as well. Vinny and Perkins baby.lol
Dude I agree with EVERYTHING you just said. I just hope I get my season tickets in time before all the bandwagoneers fill the stadium like they did in the 90’s.

El-Bashir said it will be a close game going to the Redskins at home. The fact that the Bucs seemed very loose and relaxed is a sign of confidence. They whooped these guys last year. I am sure they all know the importance of this game and what it means to go 3-3 and more importantly to start a winning streak. The Redskins are probably going to get the lead and it will be up to Winston/Martin and Sims to get it back. It will be interesting to see if Evan Smith does not get the start and if Kevin Pamphile goes for Logan Mankins? Its a big game in a hostile environment. Time for Jameis Winston and Lavonte David to bring it!

I thought Lovie said the season doesn’t start until November……..so these October games actually count, don’t they?

Delusional.

Better look at the injury list. Not only is ASJ still out but now Fragel is also.

Talk is cheap. DC isn’t a very good team. The Bucs have a better OC, DC, OL, LB’s, RB’s WR’s, DL, Cheerleaders, GM and ….wait for it…HC, damn-it.
We’re going against the CW and pass all day long against the DC busters.
Final Score: TB-38 / DC-13
Go Bucs..!!
OK, OK, after further review, DC’s cheerleaders are pretty hot.
Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck…!!!
