A big masher in the Bucs’ running game has been on the sidelines the past couple of games.
Joe’s talking about beastly blocking tight end Luke Stocker.
Stocker told Joe today that his ailing hip is healthy and he will be full go on Sunday.
Fans have seen the Bucs bring in young offensive linemen Kevin Pamphile and Reid Fragel as tight ends in sets, but that’s surely not ideal. That helps tip the defense, and Stocker is way more versatile and experienced than those guys.
Stocker also has been missed on special teams.
The Bucs’ depth keeps on growing.

Bringing in Pamphile and Fragel certainly should tip the defense, but it kept working last week against Jax. I know they’re a bad team but their run defense had been stout up to that point.
All I’m saying is, if the run game struggles with Stocker, bring the the extra o-lineman back in! Don’t give up on the run game!
If you are able to run consistently against a team who knows you’re trying to run the ball, well then that usually means you win the game.

The more snaps given to Doug Martin, the better. Keep the ball out of Winston’s hands and we’ll win. JW is way too reckless with the ball.

I’m sure Fragel or Pamphile could catch better and block better. Not sure about the route running.

Put the best players on the field. As soon as Fragel catches a goal line pass for a TD defenses will have to pay more attention and the playbook will open up more. If you really want to get crazy, let McCoy lead block for Jameis on the goal line.

Koetter has now demonstrated his ability to get the best out of the hand he was dealt due to injury. I fully expect that he will continue to make lemonade out of lemons for the rest of the season.
I also think that “starter” is a payroll concept that the probability of injury makes unsustainable in terms of sustainable success (winning) of a team.
Dotson should play when he can run block and pass protect with authority. Protecting Jameis and our RB’s should be the priority, period.
While some fans have a man crush on Dotson, I can’t help but remember him as being the author of a lot of drive-killing holding and off sides penalties last season. The “best of the worst” is hardly a ringing endorsement.
The good news is that the combined stench of last years OL allowed us to get the #1 draft pick. The cohesion of the current OL starters should only get better with time and allow both Doug, Sims and Jameis to stay healthy for the entire season.
Let’s be honest. Koetter is cooking up a pretty tasty OL stew from rookies and FA vets. Indy is still cryin’ about losing their starting RT to the Bucs.
He’s going to continue to insert players who in his words: “give us the best chance to win”.

AJS has a glass jaw. We need Stocker and Meyers who can block AND catch. AJS is has not shown me anything but injury and excuses.

I am glad the Bucs stuck with stocker. Now, I wish he would do something besides be hurt all the time.
