Blame Brindza On Mark Dominik?

The Tampa Bay area’s favorite punching bag for the ails of the Bucs, former rockstar general manager Mark Dominik, is still being blamed around town.
Man, Joe might have to start calling Dominik “W.”
It’s really silly to keep throwing darts at Dominik — for many reasons. The top reason, perhaps, is last year’s 2-14 record.
Regardless, former Bucs quarterback Shaun King, not a fan of Dominik’s moves for many years, was asked about the kicking woes of rookie Kyle Brindza this week. King, speaking on WDAE-AM 620, responded by saying Brindza shouldn’t even be in Tampa if Dominik didn’t boot Matt Bryant.
The 40-year-old Bryant, a beloved Bucs kicker from 2005-2008, was cut right before the 2009 season. The Bucs went from Mike Nugent (fail) to Connor Barth (success!), and Bryant has been nailing field goals in Atlanta ever since.
Joe finds it just silly to blame Dominik, considering the Bucs replaced Bryant with Barth. This isn’t a Michael Bennett situation, where the Bucs let a proven impact pass rusher and run stuffer walk for no good reason.

if you look at it like that, then it is a pop-star issue. But it is so far down on the list of blunders, Like the fact that Dominick had Bennett “injured” so he could ensure that his 1st round and 2nd round picks had better chances to start!!!!
( Coach Schiano the only buc head coach that started Bennett all season!!!!)

When are you going to do some investigative reporting by asking NFL types how the Bucs are supposed to compete in the NFC South with the 4th best head coach????

I guess King blames Dominik for the Bucs signing Mike Johnson, McCown, Anthony Collins and Verner. Or for Jeff Tedford, speed in space and the lack of preparedness in Week 1.

Lovie isn’t just the 4th best coach in our division he is the 32nd best head coach in the NFL.

You cant compare Dominick to Dubbya! I mean when did Dom start an illegitimatewar for the sake of keeping things kosher with our relationship with the Saudis, or use irradiated weapons against a civilian population?

Well Matt Bryant does have something in common with Aquib Talib, Michael Bennett and Legarratte Blount in that unlike the the free agent rejects of Michael Koenen, Eric Wright, Dashon Goldson and Carl Nicks they actually had success for the Bucs before they got the heave-ho.
Dominik sure knew how to reward good play for the the team…by replacing you with a draft pick and giving your starting spot to them (hellooo DaQuan Bowers and Doug Martin!). Who wouldn’t want to play for a GM like that?
But yeah, 2-14 was purely a coincidence after such a strong 5 year 28-52 tenure of our little baby ‘Rockstar’

All the people out there circling the wagons around their lovable incompetent HC Lovie Smith like the Senile Dog, King, Brooks, etc.
Senile Dog blames the players.
King blames Dominik
Brooks blames no one and preaches patience
Whatever illogical positions necessary to contort themselves such that they don’t have allow Incompetent Lovie Smith to take any responsibility for anything negative that occurs with this football team. And most of you fanboys out there eat this sht up!
This is why you keep friendships out of business relationships. Senile Dog is a tool for the Bucs as long as incompetent Lovie Smith remains HC of this football team.

@DallasBuc, the horrific loss to the Titans aside. I don’t think anyone predicted this team to go to the playoffs. There has been one bad loss, one solid win and another meh game.
If this team can get 5-6 wins, play competitive football and improve the talk about coaching etc is a waste. If, on the other hand there are a few more Titans-style annihilations than maybe we need to make drastic changes (again). But this isn’t a good team, it’s a young, rebuilding team and don’t be fooled into thinking it’s anything else.

Talk of a coaching change should primarily be based on the following question: Do you believe Lovie Smith is the man who will lead the Bucs to being a consistently great team? Not necessarily: Did they improve from year 1 to year 2 (which of course is an exceptionally low bar to meet).
Considering he never was consistently great in Chicago (3 playoff appearances in 9 years is not great), and that he’s doing much worse here already, I very much doubt he leads us to anything but mediocrity.

Tom S.- it is clearly not a good team and fair to say rebuilding with young players but the coaching is worse than anything we have seen since before Dungy. The man’s record as Bucs coach speaks for itself. This team is not competetive.

I can’t blame Dom for the kicker situation. But pretty much everything else is to blame for his bad 5 year tenure. How the Joes even think he was a good GM is baffling!!! 25 wins in 5 years, what a joke.
