Mike Evans Still Not Practicing
September 10th, 2015The Mike Evans hamstring watch remains in full swing.
The Bucs’ stud wide receiver did not practice today.
Evans injured the hammy against the Bengals 17 days ago and left the preseason game. Evans assured Joe in the postgame locker room that he would be just fine. Prior to the Browns preseason game, Evans insisted he could play if necessary.
It’s getting late, and it’s a bit odd that Evans isn’t at least jogging around with teammates in today’s practice. Players were not in pads and not hitting each other.
Stay tuned. Joe wouldn’t wager against Evans playing Sunday. But if so, how healthy is he? And is there any rust on him?

It is getting late Joe. I’m starting to wonder myself now.

We need you big Mike. Bring it! I expect to see you out there Sunday making those Titan DBs look like high schoolers.

It doesn’t matter!!! Next man up!!!

I like our backups. Humphries will bring a spark to the offense when he steps foot in the field.

I wish this was our biggest problem.

Now we know what he learned from Randy Moss. Practice? Practice? You don’t need no stinking practice.
The hamstring, Lovie favorite excuse to sit players out of practice. I’m not saying it’s a fake injury but I’m just saying. If all these players truly have hamstring issues maybe we should get an indoor practice facility.

Tennessee Titans 37……… Buccaneers 3…………

I would’t put it past Lovie to sit him until we go up against the Texans. From what I can gather from preseason we can go without him Sun. Time for Adam Humphries to step up and let his Wes Welker shine through!!!

Cmon Mike. I need to know if I can start you on FF and Jameis needs you out there for big play threat with VJack

Praticing what? His spelling? 😉 Might want to edit something there, Joe.
Anyway, Evans is a gamer, I have no doubt whatsoever that he’ll suit up and try to go all out.
This might be a little taste of our OC’s approach, too, as far as his gamesmanship is concerned.

damn..i was afraid of this…get well soon mike…GO BUCS!!!

His preseason left me doubting he will hit the field and ball out. He played weak. Prove me wrong ME
September 10th, 2015 at 4:38 pm
If Evans plays I expect shorter passes to be thrown to him, too risky trying to run him down the sideline where speed is not his strength, just how he came up injured.
September 10th, 2015 at 4:50 pm
Hopefully Lovie is just playing head-games with LeBeau and Whiz. VJax is going to be blanketed if Evans doesn’t play. Murph, Shep, and Hump(lol) will have one on one opportunities. Gotta come through.
September 10th, 2015 at 4:51 pm
We should be able to beat the Titans without him. Get healthy Mike, we are going to need you soon!!

Looks like Humphries and Shepard get a chance to help the team in a BIG way.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Koetter uses Sims or ASJ to motion into a slot receiver in a 3-wide or as the 4th WR in a spread (4-wide) formation. My only uncertainty is if any of the above players can make the tough catch, when it counts, other than VJax.
Let’s hope that Martin can rack-up enough yards to keep the D honest, chew clock and keep our D rested and ready to go. ATC, it’s a long shot to expect our ST to give us great field position and limit field position for the Titans.
Go Bucs…!!!

Tennessee Titans 37……… Buccaneers 3…………
My old man was a bookie. Normally I’m pretty conservative when it comes to putting money on anything but I’m going to be generous with you. I won’t even ask for the 34 spread….just give me 30 and I’ll cover any bet you wish to make.
ME being out this long can’t be good. How will JW and ME get their timing down?
I think ME perhaps can play because I doubt he’ll be asked to run any go or deep routes requiring max speed…but short outs..passes where he can use his height could still be very effective.

@Mo
Koetter may get creative but I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes double TE and two in the backfield for max protection and limiting Fameis options so he can concentrate WHEN they throw. As Koetter suggested they may give JW half field reads. While they threw the book at him in camp…the opposite of Mariota…now I think they’ll dial it back dramatically for JW and rookies on the OL. Could be wrong though. I’d be happy to laugh at myself if the first play was play action fake and a deep ball to VJAX.
I won’t predict a score but I do predict Doug Martin over 100 yards and more than 25 carries.

Question, I didn’t his production drop off the last handful of games this past season? was his hamstring a part of that ??
Was it a hammy last year?
