“I Got It From Jameis”

August 20th, 2015

JameisBucs rookie receiver Kenny Bell had a nice career at Nebraska, spent five years at the school and walked out with a college degree and academic awards.

His dad played four seasons for the Denver Broncos, so this rookie knew how to work, right?

Well, not quite.

Bell explained yesterday that he arrived in Tampa spoiled by playing for the same offensive coordinator for five years and didn’t have the best work habits because he knew the playbook so well after a few seasons. So guess who gave him the drive and example he needed to make it in the NFL? America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

“I didn’t have the work ethic at the time to study. I mean, I got it from Jameis,” Bell told the Ronnie and TKras show on WDAE-AM 620 yesterday. The way Jameis approaches every single day, from when he gets up in the morning to when he goes to bed, is phenomenal. He studies the playbook harder than anybody I’ve seen.”

Keep in mind Bell spends much of his time at One Buc Palace around Vincent Jackson, who is notorious for his study habits and dedication.

High hopes for this young man – and that the Bucs struck Gold digging in the 5th round. Throw to the Fro – and watch him GO….

I really like Kenny Bell too. He seems like a great guy, but he did not have the best game the other night. He had a drop or two during the game and then Joe’s training camp report had him with a bad drop of a Glennon pass. I really hope he steps it up because I would love to see him be successful here!

    It was his first game…and Winston’s first game…and Smith’s first game…and Marpet’s first game…

…4 rookies on offense in starting roles…so did anyone truly believe it would be a good first game? Too many factors.

The offense probably won’t jive in the passing game for the first 6-8 weeks of the season. The running game should come along quicker…which is a great thing.

    I think you right Bonzai.

I’ve Been out to a few camps this season and Bell is the real deal he will Take Murphy job by week 1

the kenny bell love is getting to be a bit much. i say this as a guy somewhere towards the front of the jameis bandwagon, i have a feeling that if JW gets in trouble off the field it will be in the company of guys like kevin bell. not that bell is a guy of ill characters, just that part of winston’s difficulty at FSU came from guys who were a bit too in awe of him to check him before he did something unnecessarily reckless

  7. pick6 Says:

*and yes i realize, he only answers the questions the media asks, and he is JW’s roommate and thus gets asked about him constantly. i’m happy the chemistry is there in spades, just making a point about the role of an adoring inner circle in his actual (not alleged) and preventable incidents at FSU

Good article on BSPN about Jameis, as described by James Wilder Jr.

pick6, I think you have that backwards. Jameis got in trouble at FSU because of bad influences. Chris Casher, DE at FSU from Alabama, was the main culprit. The guy is bad news and Jameis went along with him to try and fit in. He always took the rap because he was the most famous. Kenny Bell will be a good influence for JW and I doubt we see any more Freshman off-field shenanigans.
