Jameis Talks His First NFL Game
August 16th, 2015Like Bucs coach Lovie Smith said: Jameis was Jameis last night. He started slow and finished fast.
If nothing else, “America’s Quarterback” knows how to run the two-minute drill (just ask Gus Malzahn). With the ball in his hands and less than two minutes in the first half, Jameis engineered a long scoring drive.
ESPN’s Josina Anderson (perhaps the nicest person Joe has ever met from the four-letter) caught Jameis as he left TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota to talk about his first NFL game.

Not worried about Winston or the receivers but i am every other position including the entire coaching staff. They will never learn. I would love to know why garrett gilk

Jameis starts slow no matter how much prior warmup but is the best finisher we could ask for; unlike the Albatross Glennon who has given up more first half leads than I can count, and blew a late opportunity in this game.

Jameis has to fix his elongated delivery and work on his horrible accuracy.
He really needs to sit this year. He is clearly not ready

Jameis is a gamer for sure……took too many hits, with that o-line, well, the film doesn’t lie…..

Thought Winston was pro ready. I’m still takin bets on titans game. Winston has long way to go just suck as bad as leftwich.

im not worried about winston or the receivers i am worried about the rest of then entire team including coaching staff. this coaching regime will never learn, why is garrett gilkey so high on the depth chart and why is he playing center when it’s not his position the guy is playing the same way he played last year and shouldnt even be on the team and the next center on the depth chart proceeds to come in and play better than him. why was demar dotson in the game at the end of the 3rd quarter in the first preseason game that was idiotic. this is the same gargabe line from last year and same clueless defense. every year we keep hearing the media talk about these unknown players that have been camp stars who never show up in an actual game and end up on the practice squad. know i see why no one is picking them to win more than 6 games and i dont see them winning that many after that showing

it would have been a much better game from him if mike evans wasnt a quitter.

jameis had a good first dose of live action reps, he made some nice throws with pressure on top of him, not to mention he was always backed up inside his own twenty **coughcoughKaelinClaycoughcough** I’m excited for the next three preseason games, I think we’ll see gradual improvement from him, my two concerns are the lines, still shaky up front on both sides of the ball. We need an edge rusher so bad it hurts.

Jody- You only seem to show up if you think there’s something bad to say about Jameis. Do you even claim to be a Bucfan? This is the kind of disappearing act you will do when the Bucs win week 1. The only way I’ll put my money up is if I thought you’d pay up. So if you really want to PUT UP than we would both have to give cash to an arbitrator or 3rd party. Someone like pickgrin. If you don’t agree to this than you’re not serious.

Typical Lovie bush league football all the way around. I predict Tim Wright the starter by opening day.
August 16th, 2015 at 11:26 am
If he starts slow because he’s a rhythm guy…than y not start iut no huddle? Screw running the first six plays and let’s get the guy in rhythm.

Destinjohnny, Jody=trolls
Go somewhere else already. One half of a preseason game and the sky is falling. Always with you clowns. Animosity Amigos are a relentless bunch. I’ll give you that. Go away.
10-6 this year
YO JOE!
GO BUCS!!!

Ok for those of you that are all ready in panic mode, please realize that the Vikings had an extra week of training camp and had a extra preseason game. You fans who expected the 2002 championship team in the first preseason game please relax. After watching the film I was please with the running game when Doug was in the game. I thought the offensive line had good push and Doug showed some nice moves. As for Winston, you could tell he was a little overwhelmed by the speed of the rush and needs to play a lot in these preseason games. As the game went on I think things started to slow down for him. I wish they had played Marpit more and the starting center. As for the defense I thought the linebackers and secondary played well but were a victim of the lack of rush. The only thing that look like a issue was the lack of a rush from the defensive ends. This is a major problem!

Hmm…Where did Jody go?

Jameis started slow because he had to start inside of his own 5 yard line. We can’t have this during the regular season,it’s unacceptable. When you start with that type of field position, it changes everything from your playcalling to your game plan. You need to start fast in this league, you can’t afford to lose the field position battle. Our special teams last night was horrible, the worst I have ever seen. Including the 0-14 Tampa Bay Bucs of 1976,if Kaelin Clay don’t show us anything against the Bengals. We will have to go with Adam Humphries,I would prefer Humphries anyway. We have the players that we need to win the NFC South with,we just have to get the right players on the field. Jameis has nothing to hang his head over, he played his heart out. I love his maturity, never did he argue with a teammate or challenge the officials. He just kept his composure. Doing whatever it takes to score some points, including running, taking hits.Jameis is a baller, we are lucky to have Jameis as our QB.

Mariota looked better!!!
August 16th, 2015 at 3:32 pm
My biggest concern was a total lack of a pass rush against Minnesota.
Their QB’s looked way too comfortable back there.
The Tampa 2 depends on a pass rush, and is easily exposed w/o one.
August 16th, 2015 at 6:48 pm
LJS4th – Mariota’s play against the Falcons’ 1’s crap – two turnovers. He played like the rookie he is. He did okay against the Falcons’ 3rd string.
That is no indication of how good or bad Mariota will end up being. Just like last night’s game is no indication of who good Winston will be. Still, if I had to predict, I’d go with Winston who not only looked and played with more confidence but showed more field presence with his preventing a turnover with Gilkey’s ‘hike to the sky’ and his spiking the ball to get a final hail mary pass.
