What’s more soothing at lunchtime than America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, connecting for a touchdown with Vincent Jackson?
Joe can think of a few things, but this is still loads of fun.
Joe’s HD technology was all cued up, and here you see V-Jax and Jameis torch the Bucs’ second-team defense. Perfect execution.
What Joe likes is the reaction of Dirk Koetter in the left corner. You don’t see a lot of that from Koetter.

I know it’s been said a thousand times already this summer, but ya gotta love where Fameis is placing the ball. I think we’re going to get a bit of feast or famine from our receivers…VJAX can drop a few…as can ASJ…others have been chipping in with some dropsies…but along with the occasional frustrating drop will come some incredible acrobatic and athletic catches.
We have assembled a truly athletic and physical bunch of receivers. Now if they can just make ALL the routine catches!

The Bucs first Director of Football Operations was inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend. Ron Wolf was hired by Hugh Culverhouse in 1975, and he resigned in 1978 before the draft, after getting into a power struggle with Culverhouse and Head Coach John McKay. I just wanted to get that out, but some of our receivers are dropping the ball like crazy. I’m not sure if Russell Shepard and Timmy Wright will make the team this year, far, far too many drops. It seems like the undrafted rookie receivers are having the best camp,we may be in for some surprises this year.

Agreed St. Pete, we’ve got crazy athletic guys but their hands have been sounding quite suspect this far into camp!
JW still needs to work on his placement with the long balls, but I love the anticipation he’s throwing with. Plus, I would rather him throw something that is so high either our WR gets it or no one does, versus throwing behind them.

Jameis played in college with the King of drops (Kelvin Benjamin) his first year. His second wasn’t much better with two true freshman mastering the art of the drop pick. By now I think he has learned to jam it into receivers shoulder pads so it sticks. This is nothing new for Jaboo!

I’m looking forward to some excitement on offense this year. With Koetter, Winston and all the weapons available – this could turn into something special if the OLine can do their job decently.

I will get excited when they start ‘torching’ the first-string defense… like everyone else did last year.
The good news is that it looks like Jameis is getting his QB/WR timing down. The bad news is that the receivers haven’t got their catch/hold-on timing down. If this doesn’t get better (fast), the Titans are going to beat the Bucs on ‘returned’ balls alone.

With all these drops from both his college and pro receivers, makes me wonder if it has something to do with the movements the ball are making being different for these guys?
No disrespect; VJ has the nickname of VDrops for a reason but he sure does make some big plays too. That TD looked almost too easy. Good stuff! I hope he and JW get a few good years together.

I love watching Jameis routinely looking off the defenders and giving his primary read more space to work in. He is showing great timing and ball placement on his throws. Nice to have a quarterback who doesn’t get all wide eyed and freak out if his first read is covered.
