“Growing”
After a 2-14 season with the Bucs finishing dead last and winning the Chase for Jameis, many Bucs fans believe it is time to rebuild.
But the word “rebuild” is not in the vernacular of Bucs co-chairman Bryan Glazer. Speaking to the Tampa Bay pen and mic club today, Glazer discussed what his expectations are for 2015 coming off such a putrid season.
“This is a growing year” Glazer said. “With a rookie quarterback, everyone in this community is really excited about that. The team is excited. With Jameis, we will put it on his shoulders and see how it goes. But it is one step at a time. We’re not trying to do it all at once here.”
Glazer noted that the fanbase is re-energized with the drafting of “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston.
“You can feel it through the whole community with Jameis here, but the team made strides last year, even though the record doesn’t show that,” Glazer said. “The team played better and better as the year went on. If you can can get that franchise quarterback, which we think we have, you take the next step.”
Glazer added that he wants to see improvement but suggested qualifying the season with a specific win-number is unfair.

A specific win number from an owner would be like a guess by any fan. But I agree, the fan tempo is upbeat.

The second Lovie announced Jameis was the starter, Lovie all but cemented his return for 2016.

Call me unfair then Bryan!!! Ten wins!!!! Last year was the rebuilding year. We paid the price with 14 losses. We have identified the wheat from the chaff and added very important new pieces in the OC and QB! 10-6 baby!

But Mr. Glazer we were told by some of your fan base that drafting Winston would be bad for ticket sales and people would be in front RJS protesting us taking him. I don’t get it. So he’s telling us the community is energized over Winston.. This just can’t be so!
