Mike Evans Says He’s Faster, Lighter
July 31st, 2015Tampa Bay’s superstar rookie of 2014, 21-year-old Mike Evans, was a very optimistic cat this morning as he reported to One Buc Palace with the rest of the Bucs veterans.
Part of that enthusiasm comes from Evans’ offseason dedication.
He said he expected to weigh in less than 230 pounds, and he’s fresh off a second workout with Randy Moss. “He’s just one of the tightest dudes I’ve ever met,” Evans said of Moss.
Of course, Evans said he got great work in with Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, during the players’ vacation, and he expects serious improvement this year.
EvansĀ even delivered the funniest line of the morning when he said the Bucs were “the best 2-14 team ever.” Evans was dead serious, and it’s hard not to admire the optimism.

Ever? Don’t know if I go that far but this team was clearly better than 2-14.
There was a lot of choking and stupid rookie mistakes last year.
And when I say “rookie mistakes” I do not mean just the mistakes made by rookies like doing a Captain Morgan pose in the end zone. I mean lots of mistakes by players who were “rookies” in Lovie’s defense.
It’s already been said a thousand times but it’s no coincidence that this year’s defensive FA’s all had experience in that defense.
