More insight into the Evans-Moss marriage
Tom Pelissero, the USA Today writer who had dinner with Mike Evans and wrote about it recently, was a fill-in host on SiriusXM NFL Radio yesterday and talked a little more about his time with Evans.
First, Evans and Randy Moss are slated for extensive training again after July 4. Sweet!
Pelissero noted that Evans walked away from his first stretch of time with Moss impressed by how fit Moss is. Pelissero painted a picture of Evans being blown away that Moss, 37, didn’t get tired — and Evans learned that while he may be fit, he must raise his physical game to get in Randy Moss’ league.
Co-host Maurice Jones Drew said Moss was the best athlete to play in the NFL — yes, ever — and implied that Evans has the right role model and coach when it comes to training.
Last year, Josh McCown made a big deal about how Evans’ future will ride a lot on how he approaches his first offseason. Well, it sure seems like Evans is staying motivated and hungry, and putting in the work.

Oo I like the sound of this! I’d still take Evans over any of last year’s rookie receivers. Now why can’t we get some of our own Bucs legends to come in and coach/mentor. I hear Brooks talking about Winston, but it almost feels like it’s from a distance. Where’s Lynch and Alstott, or Dunn and Rice?

Moss the best NFL athlete ever, wow that is a bold statement. I don’t doubt it, I hope Evans takes away some of that attitude for himself that Moss was known for, Then again, he already has it.

Would put Barry Sanders above him but Moss isn’t far behind as far as the most electrifying athlete to ever play in the NFL.

Randy was the greatest WR ever. I get that Rice and a few others had more yards but most of that is your offense and who is throwing to you. Pound for pound Randy is the best.

The bucs organization over the years has pissed of many of our great players by the way they were released or rumored to have been treated by Schiano when they did come. I’ve heard our Superbowl winning quarterback’s name spoken once in conjunction with the bucs since he was cut. Speaks volumes. What was his name again?
Many of these players are still active in the community just not with the bucs. I’m sure if the bucs organization wanted to they could amend the situation. Maybe the ring of honor is their starting place.

I give the edge to prime time but Moss is definitely 2nd on the all time list. But I said during rookie mini camp last year that ASJ and mike Evans will have to change their bodies because they look like basketball players

There is a great Zen saying…”When the student is ready the teacher will appear”.
Apparently young Mr. Evans is ready! And how fortuitous to have perhaps the greatest WR ever as a mentor!
BTW. I recently retired. One of the major mistakes I made over years that included lots of managing human resources, was that I didn’t realize that Zen saying has to be carefully applied. Alas I have frequently thought I saw a glimmer of talent and tried to be a mentor to “students”. Many times they were not ready and that resulted in a waste of my time and strained relationships.
You can’t give anybody anything…they have to want it…they have to have the talent…and they have to be ready! I think Evans has all three!

I give the edge to Deion Sanders; he could literally play any skill position, he basically invented “Swag” in the NFL, Oh by the way did I mention his effortless 4.2 speed, And it’s a fact that QB’s spent years not throwing at him…
