Doing It The “Wright Way”
June 28th, 2015A fourth string undrafted rookie tight end out of training camp in 2013, Tim Wright soon found the best NFL teams executing defensive game plans around him.
Fate shined on him again when the Bucs traded him to New England, where he earned a Super Bowl ring. Now he’s back with Tampa Bay.
Life has been good to Wright, and he wants to make life good for others. Wright’s foundation had it’s first big event this weekend near his hometown in New Jersey.
Wright isn’t just teaching kids football. It’s more of a youth development program in conjunction with area officials, and many of his Rutgers football brethren. Here’s a snippet from the Asbury Park Press.
“We have a great model,” Wright said. “There’s an academic portion where we bring the kids in and they will go through a series of presentations where they explain what’s important for them in terms of succeeding in high school and in college. And that’s what I feel is important, to lay that foundation strong so that they have the best chance to prosper.”
Hats off to Wright and other Bucs, like Will Gholston, Vincent Jackson, Danny Lansanah and others, who invest plenty of their own time to impact the lives of children.

All I do is catch touchdowns

@Joe
Are you going to ask Wright, what it was like to catch Brady’s deflated balls last year????

@ The Buc Squeelist……has there ever been a post, on any forum, that you haven’t been critical of? Anywhere?

@CocoaBchBuc
Show me a good Bucs team and then I will show you a good post! News flash, they are the bottom of the division and bottom of the league! dead last!!!

No argument there buds, but when you are at the bottom of the league we can only have hope. Been through it all w/ the Bucs. All of the ups (few) and all of the downs (many). Yet they are still my team. Go Bucs!!!!

Bucc the realist no-one takes the record from last season into the next season. Everyone is 0 and 0 at this current point in time.

It’s like some of you arse holes take special pride in the fact that the squad has been down so long. Now that steps are being taken that provide some of us with a level of optimism your pessimistic arse’s don’t know what to do with yourselves. Here one maybe holding your breath till we win our first game. That might work.

@NoS-BoS
Is Lovie taking steps? yes. But is he moving forward or just in circles?? that is the question!!!
Look, I “hope” as well. I “hope” that they do not suck like last year!!!
The NFL season does not start until the preseason when we can start to talk about this year’s team for some fans ( that is usually when i let go of the miserable year before!) right now its just the talking season for the players and coaches, of how they learned and how they have improved, about how that they will not let that embarrassing team that they fielded will not happen again!! All talk until we get to see something!

Off Topic.
Does anyone think the bucs will draft LSU LT Battle late in the supplemental draft? I didn’t follow LSU and don’t really know much about the guy other than he got a speeding ticket, had weed in his car and got suspended a game for punching a guy.

Someone might tie me for being the longest Buc fan….but nobody can beat me.
That doesn’t give me any more credibility than anyone else…I can say this….it’s really disappointing to have posters constantly spew negativity….sure, once in a while…but to continuously denigrate “their” team seems very sad to me.

That’s awesome job by Tim. Got to teach these kids how to use their brains as most won’t be ameuter or professional athletes. Kudos to wright, vjax and all the other making a positive difference in their communities.

@TBBF,
Definitely half to agree with you. It’s just an attitude in how you look at life, not just as a Bucs fan. If the glass is half empty (or worse) ALL THE TIME, your life must be friggin miserable!
@The Buc Realist Says:
“…Are you going to ask Wright, what it was like to catch Brady’s deflated balls last year????”
Jumping in for TBBF in speaking for Pablo…
Pablo wonders if Schiano would say: what would it be like to “BITE” Brady’s deflated balls

Stanglassman, Isaiah Battle played for the Clemson Tigers, the Bucs should spend a 3rd on him. He say’s he changed his mind and decided to come out after he learned that he had a baby on the way.But he is an athletic LT, 6’6 308 lbs , can run 4.86 in the 40. If i’m the Bucs I would spend a 3rd on him, but teams expect a deep draft next season. I would at least spend a 4th on him,with some good coaching he could become a good LT in the NFL.

It’s sad when you have 14 comments and only WS99’s is on the thread topic. Look, we are all frustrated by last year and to be honest, basically the last decade, but let’s not take a healthy crap on the community work done for our children by the aforementioned VJax, Wright, Gholston, Lansanah etc.
