Joe’s not a big believer in coincidences, so it was noteworthy when a dozen Buccaneers grabbed a microphone this week and only two shared the same take.
In an exercise for Buccaneers.com, various players were asked to offer some words to the Tampa Bay Lightning after their Monday loss in the Stanley Cup finals.

Two of those dozen Bucs thanked the Lightning for their motivation, a nod toward how the Bolts’ success inspired them. Does it surprise you that a Buccaneer committed to gaining every competitive edge and winning at all costs was one of those two?

THE MESSIAH doesn’t need any outside motivation. All he needs is a ball, someone to throw to, and little Jonah P watching.

Gotta hand it to you Joe. ‘America’s Quarterback’ seems to rankle people almost as much as calling Dom ‘Rock Star’. Let’s hope that Jameis doesn’t suffer a similar fate. I personally think Jameis will be a star in this league and do it in short order. The only thing I worry about with Winston is how will he handle losing because he will lose here initially more than he has ever experienced in his life as a football player. Confidence can get shaken when that happens but I think he understands that this is not like college and building a winner takes time. His will to win will take over and get him through. We’ll see. Anxious for the season to start!

They ought to look to the rays too. Half the team gone or injured and still playing damn good baseball.

Glad the Lightening are motivation! Like the Bucs they are mostly a young team mixed with some real knowledgeable Veterans for leadership. They played their hearts out every game and came very close to winning the Stanley Cup. We wouldn’t mind if the Bucs made it to the Super Bowl this year, would we? Even if they didn’t win it all–That Would Be Great!!!

Couldn’t agree more. The Rays were picked 3 or 4 in the division and are in first despite half the time out and longoria playing injured.
