Quiet Jameis
June 4th, 2015When “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, was at Florida State, he was anything but timid. Loud, brash, confident, often FSU coach Jimbo Fisher had to reel in Jameis to lasso his emotions.
So is Jameis flaunting that famous outgoing personality with the Bucs? Well, not really. In fact, if one is to ask Bucs WR Vincent Jackson, Jameis knows he’s the new kid on the block and is easing himself into the Bucs’ locker room.
“He’s been a little bit quiet,” Jackson said today after OTA practice. “He knows to pick and choose his times, every now and then. But for the most part he just comes and does his work and we really appreciate that.”
Lovie Smith thinks Jameis’ reputation preceded him and some players thought Jay Z himself would show up at One Buc Palace, replete with entourage.
“I think it is all relative to what the expectations were,” Lovie said about Quiet Jameis. “You assume he is going to come in in a limousine or something like that. That’s just not the case. That’s just not who he is. He is one of the other rookies. When you are rookie, you’re supposed to be in the background until it’s your turn to step up. It’s not Jameis’ time yet. It will come though, soon.”
See that Jameis haters? That brash, loud, swaggering personality will be turned loose on the NFL in good time. And Joe cannot wait.
Jameis is no dummy. He knows he has to earn his spot with the team first, and then he can throw around all that swag of his.

He won’t even be able to make the last and most important step of earning their respect fora few months.
That being making plays on Sunday.
Just keep your head down and work like hell till then Mr. Winston.

I can’t wait to see “God’s Quarterback”, Jameis Winston, shush the “Who Dat” crowd in New Orleans, or run up the score and laugh at the Falcons from the sidelines in the Georgia Dome, or maybe take a dirty shot at someone and end their career in Charlotte, of course that idiotic pose Newton makes after a simple first down to mock him would do fine instead.

Give him time. He’ll be annoying the haters in no time flat. Meanwhile the rest of us going to be like “you Skrong, we skrong, do it big then” as we eat crab legs and FHRITP.

Maybe a few of the veterens pulled him aside and let him know what is expected of him. Also, he’s finding out what it’s like to be working with grown men and professionals. It’s a great time for him to keep his mouth shut and his ears open. When time goes by and he feels more comfortable I’m sure the noise and the swag will return

Theirs always a quiet before a storm. But trust and believe there Will be a storm. Has to be,it’s already brewing in the Bay.

He will be the starting QB. He can be quiet or jump right in. The regime is building the offense around him. L&L your not fooling anyone. Lets just play ball and start winning.

Love to hear that he’s keeping his mouth shut and learning as much as he can and easing into things, just like he should. Wasn’t quite sure if he would be able to pull that off upon hearing about his personality after we drafted him. Well played Winston.
At some point though, once he’s established himself, that’s all going to change. And when it does happen, it will be the right time and very much needed.

That, and Jameis approached various Bucs, specifically Vincent Jackson and Gerald McCoy. Jameis isn’t dumb. He knows he’s the new kid in school.

smart enough to know that even if you were the most talented the rookie isn’t going to lead a locker room just because he was chosen 1st overall. smart man just sit back and earn the title of leader with your play on the field
