Derrick Brooks Apologizes
May 25th, 2015Twitter is a wild universe, a force for good and evil and knowledge and stupidity. You can join Joe there anytime.
You can find Buccaneers legend Derrick Brooks there, too.
Brooks, who doubles as president of the Tampa Bay Storm, took to Twitter this weekend to apologize for the seal-clubbing suffered by his team on Friday night, a 71-27 loss to Philadelphia. The Storm fell to 3-5 on the season.
Our @TampaBayStorm Celebrating Military Night was great except our team on the field.Apology 2 our fans & We will hang together and respond!
— Derrick Brooks (@DBrooks55) May 24, 2015
How about that! A nasty beating at home and minutes later the big boss, a guy with a hand in personnel, is publicly apologizing.
This got Joe thinking about the brutal national humiliation the Buccaneers suffered in Atlanta last September, and then the historic home throttling by the Ravens in October, when Tampa Bay trailed 38-0 at halftime.
Was there a public apology like Brooks gave? Joe doesn’t recall anything quite like that, or really anything close. All Joe can think of is similar comments from Jason Licht on the Buccaneers Radio Network pregame show before the following game.
Joe likes the mindset and assertiveness of Brooks. Very refreshing.

Licht did say his philosophy is centered around building from the inside out. Incompetent Lovie Smith said “kinda simple as that”

dallasbuc haha PERFECT

Sorry Joe, but you don’t make sense. First you say you can’t remember anyone from the Bucs apologizing and then you say Licht made similar comments in the pregame show the following week.
What is it you don’t remember again. What is the purpose of this story. I wonder.

Derrick Brooks will soon lose his job.

Bingo! DallasBuc Says, you have a chatter stopper with that post! Inside out? What is One Buc Place, a new gig for Letterman?

The Bucs coaching didn’t apoligize from the beatdowns because they were left speechless, that or they went and hid until the smoke cleared. Embarrassed most likely.

I wish #55 was the GM of the Bucs.

If Brooks can’t build a winning arena league team what makes anyone think he’d be a good nfl gm? Ha ha ha ha
Brooks tells Bucs fans to be patient now tell your arena ticket buyers to be patient. I took brooks advice I’m being so patient I’m not buying tickets until they start consistent winning

I doubt if the Bucs went 12-4 and won the Super Bowl 42-0 against the NE Patriots you would get your fat lazy rear end off your couch to go to a game Tony.
First off you usually have to have a job to afford to buy season tickets. Secondly you would have to get your mommy a ticket to so she could drive you to the game and go to the concession stand and buy your beer for your big belly.

Drdneast- I’ve had season tickets for the 7 years in section 307. Just tired of wasting my money on a directionless franchise until they prove to me they know what they are doing.
As always Go Bucs!!!

Joe, what the? Derrick Brooks has been HORRIBLE with the Storm, last thing I think is refreshing. He’s been through three coaching staffs and a ton of losing. I love how he isn’t called out for how bad the team has played…no I’m not, we can’t talk bad about Derrick can we….
May 25th, 2015 at 5:33 pm
I don’t know how many times I have to say this on this website- apparently one more time. Lovey will let his team get shellacked 53-0 to prove a point. That point being- know your role, trust the guy next to you and do your job on defense.
Generally this works because nobody likes getting their arse kicked on national tv. Notice how after they got whopped a couple times they started believing what they were being told and doing what they were supposed to… Also note that a few guys either got removed from starting or were booted from the team in one form or another. Lovey always says ‘The player will show you if they should play or not.” and its 100% true.
They WILL turn this thing around and we will sail up to the opposing stadiums and wreck their day on a consistent basis. Soon, very soon.
Plus- we have ‘The Jameis Winston Experience… Are YOU experienced?’ (That is what I want on my next Bucs shirt, with a big Jameis face on it).
I’m a longitme Bucs fan, Lovey Smith fan and yes, bears fan. I’m damn happy he’s here.

^^^^You Go Babaloo!!!
I hear ya….
May 25th, 2015 at 6:04 pm
ARE YOU EXPERIENCED?
Too bad Jaboo, can’t play the strat like Jimi.
We need more of Jimi on gamedays at RayJay, now with the Jameis Winston Experience…perhaps we will!

Derrick Brooks is the only reason some people in Tampa still know the Storm exists. everybody else on that team can probably walk out of the arena after the game and not be recognized. Kudos to DB55 for standing up and taking the hit on behalf of the organization, i hope his players and coaching staff responds with improved play
