Joe loves this photo from today’s training camp. It’s Raheem The Dream doing an arm-locking, sky-jumping, chest-bumping celebration with cornerback Elbert Mack, after Mack picked off Byron Leftwich. 

It sort of says a lot about the Bucs new era with Raheem The Dream: youthful enthusiasm, violence, and a whole lot of confidence.

Joe’s got observations he’ll share from training camp later or first thing in the morning. The night is young, and the Caybrew is cold.

    I like the enthusiasm, but maybe I’m a little old school too. A head coach, or any manager in any job, needs to show that he is to be respected as an authority figure. Raheem seems to go overboard trying to be one of the fellas instead of their boss, the one that decides who has a job and who goes back to driving a beer truck. Let your assistants be the rah-rah guy Raheem, or in 2 years or less, you will be an assistant again, but in another city.

    I agree with you mike, but after seeing the dream in action today I can tell you that there is no question who is in charge on the field (IMO).

    The night practice was efficient and productive as well as entertaining, GREAT idea by the organization…

    I was at the AM practice and Raheem is intense. His youthful exuberance is hard to contain. It is refreshing to see a Headcoach go flying through the airlike this. As he said, it’s a mixed bag because Mack made an awesome int/snatch/pick which was great, but on the other side of the ball “Slow Poke Sluggo” through it, for an equal and opposite reaction. Go Rah!

    Just found this Web site. Pretty cool. I don’t know what to think anymore. There are so many ways to get it done in the NFL — Dungy, Parcells, Gruden, Coughlin, Shanahan — maybe Raheem is on to something. But i woldn’t bet on it. Have to think thought that there will be no team more ready on opening day.
