Lovie On Jameis: “Nobody’s Going To Outwork This Guy”

Joe’s live at the NFL Owners meetings and chatting with Lovie Smith today.
And there is plenty of quarterbacks chatter to share.
One quick standout nugget on Jameis Winston from Lovie is him saying “nobody’s going to outwork this guy.”
That’s a bold statement from the head coach, who has some very dedicated players.
For the Mariota Gang, Lovie scoffed at the notion that Marcus Mariota will have trouble adjusting to the NFL. Lovie emphasized that he’s watched every throw of both quarterbacks and says Mariota can do what he needs to do to be successful.

Lovie just said on NFL Network that Michael Johnson was great player, so can we really trust what he says. I’ve decided to wait til the draft and not have my hopes up so I can be pleasantly surprised or already prepared for “whatever”

Famous Porky Jameis could not out run the Big Dog or outwork the Glennon mob! I can’t believe in a league (NFL) where we are now saying character does not count when it is the most important thing. Hall of Fame QB’s are very often not the #1 pick or to 10 picks for that matter. With the exception of Peyton Manning and Adrew Luck, not many sure things were sure things.
Tom Brady was the #199 pick. Not ONE of the experts saw him coming, but he has a work ethic and a competitive spirit (intangibles) few have.
You can keep blathering on about Famous Porky Jameis as being the next thing since sliced (Jamarcus Russell) bread, but until he goes out on the field and does it for the next five years, I am not convinced. He has already shown he has very low ethical beliefs and no matter how many times he is not truly investigated, the mere fact that he was accused of attacking that student and destroyed the video that would have proved his innocence causes me to think anyone ……Mariotta, Bryce Petty…anyone would be better.

After all this time…this is probably the best post this year on JBF. Thanksgiving, I was firmly in the Mariota camp and by New Years, I had changed my mind after watching tape.
So glad Lovie/Licht listened to their scouts and not fans or Dungy/Klatt/Landry.

Licht: I’m sure there will be. Just everyone testing it to see what it would take. But we’re not going to pass on a franchise quarterback if we feel like one of these quarterbacks is franchise ready – franchise worthy for the Buccaneers. That’s one thing that we, the team, the fans, the town has wanted for a long time.
