No Blackouts In 2015

All games will be broadcast live in home TV markets this season the NFL announced today.
Bucs fans: NFL warden commissioner Roger Goodell has good news for you.
This season, you can sit in the comfort of your own recliner, in air-conditioning with plenty of your favorite grub and Bud Light at hand’s reach, and no line at the bathroom, and get to watch all of Jameis Winston’s home games.
NFL owners, Twittered Adam Schefter of BSPN, suspended its blackout policy.
That means no matter how few folks buy tickets to the Den of Depression, the games will still be televised locally. Those readers living out outside of the Tampa Bay market and the Bucs’ secondary TV market (Orlando) will likely have to rely on NFL Sunday Ticket.

I generally spread my love around. (Insert Fameis joke here) I go to a couple of Ray’s games…a couple Bucs games and a half dozen Lightning games.
Went to see Boston get their butts kicked last night. Even Stamkos threw down and got in a fight. The Lightning have just finished a week of beating Montreal, Detroit and Boston. They are for REAL!
And so from the perspective of a consumer the Lightning offer the best product by far.
But as a fan I still love the Bucs. Here is my problem. At 67 I’m too freaking old to fight my way out of the stadium. The Bucs undoubtedly and perhaps the entire NFL (don’t mean to single out the Bucs) have the most boorish, jerk fans of any sports events I attend.
I could document all the instances with 20 something testosterone laden morons who drop Mfer in front of small kids and if the parents complain threaten to kick that parent’s arse.
Last night about a 1/3 of the crowd had Boston gear on. If the Patriots came to RayJay in their gear they’d have to fight their way out and put up with beer showers. Last night the fans were incredibly polite to each other. Big line for the mens room I raced to reach the end and tied a guy in Boston gear. When I said you first…he said…no you were here first. Everybody exhibited class.
And when the Bruins scored first their fans erupted. But we had the final laugh. Nothing better leaving the stadium with folks in opposing gear who have just watched us whip their butts. No need to curse them, insult them, or throw beer on them, much less start an actual fight with them.
For all we could say about the product on the field…it’s actually the lack of crowd control that keeps me from attending more Buc games.
I don’t go to sporting events to “prove” my manhood.

For me it’s that fckn sun. It’s a killer. For the last two years I’ve had tickets for every home game and I still watched from home. Blackouts don’t bother me bc the Internet is a wonderful thing. Plus being able to record every game and watch it like I’m breaking down tape allows me to know more about the bucs than I probably should.

You all do not believe me but Darren Sharper in proof…after the NFL no more protection from prosecution! Sharper will bet life in prison before he is done and yet, everyone is clammering for the Porky one!
Tampa Bay…he’s faster than a speeding poodle…..eats more moon pies than the HC….its Famous Porky Jameis….the Buc’s pride and joy because he can sexually assault a female student and win the National Championship.
We have something seriously wrong with us when the content of a person is no longer important….it leads to bad picks for QB, bad picks for the HC, and worse picks for President!

Yea – that’s because there was [Not a court. It was the FCC. If it was a court, the NFL would already have an unjuction and you would know about it as folks would be screaming high heaven.] a little while back saying that NFL blackouts are not legal. There should have never been blackouts in the 1st place.

It’s kind of a bummer. The Bucs being blacked out means we usually get to watch a decent NFC game. Guess I’ll have to rely on the RedZone channel to see any good football in 2015.

@StPeteBucsFan I agreee with you 100 percent, that’s the same reason I only go to a couple of Bucs games a year. I am a big Bucs fan and football fan in general, it seems that a small percentage of fans can’t help themselves and act like a-holes and ruin it for fans around them. Love the Lightning and go to quite a few games, better atmosphere.

We already knew this. Which is why I was telling fans that were crying about blackouts months ago don’t worry about it. There won’t be blackouts partially because Congress got involved. Thank your representative unless they are a Democrook then punch them for me.

@stpete , A handful of years back went to see old Josh Freeman in his rookie season play the final preseason game (he didn’t play) against the Redskins. Found some cheap tickets on “StubHub” and took the family (6 of us). My sons and I were wearing some really basic “Bucs” garb in a mostly empty stadium. We could have moved down but decided to stay away from the Redskin fans. Low and behold the drunkest Skins fan in the world decided to start heckling my family and I. The only thing was another fan called the ushers and had him removed. It’s tough enough to afford tickets to a game with a family my size and being Military we are always stationed in someone else’s area. Hey Florida, build an Army base in Tampa. Definitely tough and Eagle fan is pretty out there too.

Joe ….. Why can’t Orlando fans watch the Bucs games? I know Orlando is listed at a Jaguars Primary Market but the Jags play most games on CBS and the Bucs are on Fox. Generally, only causes an issue 1 to 2 games a year where the Jags are on Fox playing at the same time as the Bucs causing the Jags to air over the Bucs. So how does suspending the black out rule impact watching the Bucs from Orlando?

As tempting as it is to sit in the AC and not pay $8 a beer, I will keep the tickets this year and scream my throat sore for this team. * Unless they trade down, then all bets are off. ** why cant we have an air conditioned stadium? *** Please more people come to the games, Im tired of being out numbered by other teams fans.

Well, first off, the Jags primary market is Jacksonville. Orlando is a secondary market for both the Jags and the Bucs. That’s where it gets really hairy and terribly complex and it would take Joe days to decipher or get info on who gets to be on TV in Orlando when/if a Bucs and Jags game are on at the same time.
Obviously the Jags would (normally but not always) be on a CBS station and the Bucs would (normally but not always) be on the FOX affiliate.
A lot of it am positive has to do with local ratings and the win-loss record of the teams.

I started to go to games with my father in 78′, now take my 2 sons as we are season holders. Never have a problem and love everything from tailgating to the game.
My boys wish they would win more and I wish they could see games as we had in the Sapp/Brooks era.
But it is still a great experience, even with the oppressive heat in Sept/Oct

I believe the (out of area) markets will still have the Bucs games, Orlando/Ft. Myers if they have an interest and they can sell commercial spots. I live in Naples and have always had the Bucs games unless they are pressured by the NFL to show a higher rated game to sell their spots nationwide.

Congress had nothing to do with this. It was an order issued by the FCC, which oversees telecommunications.
@Joe you sure about that? I haven’t looked into it much but why then for only 1 year? I personally think it’s because the Raiders, Rams, Chargers, could be moving to LA next year and tikets have been sluggish in about 25 cities eventhough fans around here do not think so.
